Good morning. Wt is up again. I don't know why. I felt sick overnight. Headache and several trips to the bathroom. Our big change in weather could have caused that. It is going to be close to 60 again today.

Trish, DH cannot go to the casino the rest of this week. It is not in our budget because we went already and lost. Next week is another story. I don't see him skipping next week. I will try my best but I don't want to fight with him.

Mad, my food addiction is similar to binge eating. Once I eat something it makes me want more even though I should not be hungry. It is multiple servings at meals rather than sweets and snacks. When I cook I try to make just enough for our 2 servings. When we get pizza we have to get a small or I will keep eating until it's gone. DH likes to get a large then throw away what we don't eat. He eats very small portions at a time. This is why he eats every 2-3 hours. And he never finishes anything.

Daylight savings time starts on Sunday, so summer is not far behind. We made it through another winter.

Weight this morning is down to 202.6 and FBG 110. I hope this means that I will show a 2 lb loss at the bariatrics center. I really go more by my bathroom scales because I consider them more accurate since I weight without clothes. By the time I dress and get shoes etc on, I usually weight about 4 lbs more when they weigh me and 202.6 looks a lot better than 206.6. I hope without all the stress I had before that maybe I will do better this time.

I recently read where someone said that carbs made their joints hurt. Have y'all ever heard that before? I found a low carb/keto for diabetics on FB and one girl was telling how she not only lost weight but even her neuropathy was gone plus reversed loads of other things when she lost the weight using lc/keto. She still weighed in the 200s although she had lost about a 100 lbs. It isn't always easy to low carb/keto all the time, but it sure makes me rethink things. Any way weight is starting to move down again so I just want to keep it going even if it is only 1 lb a week it is better than 0 loss or a gain.

Got to get ready to leave. DS and I decided not to go out to eat this morning since the weather channel shows rain on its way although the local news shows it is not likely. Don't know who to trust but I don't want to be out in it when I don't have to be. Haven't decided if I will make this a fast day till our main meal or not. Will see how I feel when I get home.

Y'all have a great day.

Trish, many have said that low carb helped get rid of joint pain. When DH was in the hospital and I was eating low carb with long fasts each day my pain went away but I didn't connect it to carbs. I thought it was from good blood sugar, which was actually from the way I was eating. It doesn't hurt to try. Cutting carbs is beneficial all around. I don't think carbs were ever meant to be eaten in the quantities that the American diet includes. It is up to each person to decide how many carbs they can handle. We are all different.

Right now I'm taking the gout meds because tests showed my uric acid was elevated. But not all pain is from uric acid. For years my pain would go away and come back but I never knew what triggered it.

I had a 17 hour fast and ate a sandwich of egg, bacon, lettuce and tomato on my 35 calorie wheat bread. A side of cottage cheese for my dairy and extra protein. That was at 11am. Nothing else until dinner at 3 or 4.

I hope you have a good weigh in. Maybe you could start weighing with clothes on at home so your weight will be the same as at the center.

My bariatric visit showed my weight down 2 lbs. I hope I can keep it but I think I will have to do some fasting to do it. DS and I decided for us to go out to eat Friday with our DH and then we have the surprise birthday dinner for the pastor's wife after church Sunday. I will have to make those days fasting days and hope I can at least keep the 2 lbs off.

Carol Sue It is very difficult to do VLC when cooking for DH. Thus the reason more of a 2MAD with 1 snack works best for my lifestyle. I sure did want my homemade low carb taquito when I got home today but I decided that the day I WI at bariatrics is the best time to eat a higher carb meal to give myself time to keep the weight from coming back on WI days. I am making DH chipped beef on biscuits today and will try to eat very little this evening.

I read yesterday that chia seeds not only help with getting rid of visceral fat, but it is an anti-inflammatory as well as a good laxative. So many other good health benefits like lowering cholesterol and triglycerides and raising good cholesterol so I've decided that at night I will eat some in my yogurt as a snack. It said to eat 2 T but I will ease into it by eating 1 T for a while and see how it works for me. I measured today and I have lost 1 inch under breast, 1.5 inches around waiste and .5 inches in my hips since January. So I am losing inches even though I'm not always losing lbs and that makes me happy.
