Bagzie, I feel you should have supported my suggestion that Kiwi drug her DH. Now he is spending his time with her, next he'll be wanting to know what's going on in her life. That is only a step away from him discovering that she doesn't do anything and expecting HER to get a job.

All right, I'll go on a diet if you cook Remember that Amy girl from Texas? She was cooking meals for her husband and someone else so that they could diet. Or something like that.

I'm thirsty. Could you please pass me a Mike's?

Where's that Cowprincess?

Now that I've burned a few calories LMAO at your hilarious posts, I can go eat breakfast.

Dh went back to work yesterday. Ds7 starts school again Thursday and ds10 Friday. I'm almost freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! (not that I don't adore my family or anything, but you KNOW how it is)

Hey. There's a guy on the radio now talking about me.

He's saying that if you lose a spouse, you grieve for that person. If you get left, kicked out, Herbieized, you lose self-esteem and go through humiliation that creates depression.

So ... I am not cheerful. The morning of closing my car broke down and cost more than I make in ... a long time. It ran fine for two days. Haven't seen it since. The mechanic doesn't know what's wrong with it now. I am driving an old truck that Herbie loaned me. To get this d*****d truck, I had to get someone to drive me to his office (more than an hour's drive) and he's reminding me that he needs it back. This is the humilitation that comes from living my life and trusting men who come through it.

I would give Lushie a big hug but I'd probablyn make her feel worse.

So there. Blah. I don't even know what prn means.

I feel better already due to hug. You are right, Peaches, finances(and in my personal case, laziness) give men the upper hand. My grandmother always said that first and foremost, men and women make a "deal"...a financial deal. It used to be that honorable people could not go back on that deal without feeling the scorn of the whole community. Now, men can walk away with everything without a backward glance. We women sure have come a long way. But be strong. The darling nephew makes all of this worthwhile.

Sugar I am so HAPPY your DH went back to work. You will return to us and your sanity. Tell us all about all the projects you've completed.

How are you, Wabby???? Please describe regular sized...A,B...etc? Linda is still no slouch in that dept.

Katrina, are you new? Are you friends with Painty? Please explain what makes you come our way. (Hint: remarks about how charming and witty we are wouldn't hurt) Most of us like new people.

I'm into it, Bagz. We have to figure out a way to deliver a regular 10PM dose to him so that Kiwi can have insomnia in peace. It is the least we can do.

Kiwi, you have been doing so many fun and interesting things this summer. You can be out cultural attache. (accent on e)

Now, on to the diet question. Before I saw you guys this morning, I made myself a decent breakfast of eggs...twice. The dog nibbled at the first one and I had to throw it out. I would be happy to start. My plan is, as usual, no sugar, protein breakfast...count points. Nothing three hours before bed...was that the old rule????? WATER!

DD has gained weight due to spending her summer with her knee up, she will have it off by mid-September..doesn't that kill you??? Anyway, she will be my partner until then.

Maybe do a little EXERCISE????? What is that???? I can't go to Curves due to shoulder injury. See, I'm typing...am I self-defeating or what? I have a good dr who is sending me for an MRI and to a neurologist for an electrical test for my carpal tunnel. But I keep typing away.

DD goes to the dr this am to find out final diagnosis. Her preliminary diagnosis is Pigmented Villinodular Synovitis. I've looked it up on the internet, not good. However, he says that in someone her age it is not likely to reoccur as it usually does on adults. Now we will see if he was right...everything they removed from her knee was sent out for tests....we'll see. I'm a little nervous. This has changed her life so much, I hope it's over.

I have to go rouse my troops. Remember my morning routine??? Maybe I'll do that today, too.

Who me?

Not new, just an occasional lurker. I stumbled across your witty and charming little thread one day, intrigued by the many facets of cowdom. You guys seem like a pretty tight little group, so I was leary about butting in.

That is...until I could be of assistance with the medical lingo!

BTW, I'm not a nurse, but I do work with them and speak their language...

As in, RX: Take 1 Mike's LimeAde q1h and prn to alleviate sobriety.
(every hour and as needed)

PS...I don't know Painty, but I did like her sheep!

Okay...I don't want to overstay my "welcome"

That is, if there was one...

Hey there Kitty Kat, if you can give good Mike's directions, you're welcome to hang out.

Lohani, even when you're down you make me laugh. And I need some laughing. DH is not being the nurse that I need. He's acting like a baby. He's pouting because his oversized toys have been remodeled, he worked in his shop the first day I was home, he went fishing all day the second day and he went out and bought himself a new fishing boat some where in there while I was drugged. I don't have the energy for this. He's expecting me to go to the beach over Labor day weekend and actually go out fishing with him. I told him I could probably go and lay around the cabin but don't count on me for fishing. He keeps insisting I'll be just fine. And it looks like I'm probably going to be about a 36C.

Kiwi, I say drug him. Of course in my present state of mind, I might not be the one to take advise from in the spouse department.

Sugar, congrats on getting the boys out from underfoot. Of course we know you adore them all, but sheesh! they wear you out.

According to my scale, after at least 2 days of no solid food, and 5 lbs. being surgically lopped off, I weigh 2 lbs. more than when I went in. Go figure. I'm eating for health right now. new concept. I need lots of protein, dark green veggies, tons of water. No calorie counting. Just as much food as I want, but it has to be good fuel.

I'm going to go try to figure out how to wash my hair without raising my arms over my shoulders.

Default WELCOME!!!KATKOW!!!

i am not sure if you read the instructions we gave when Paintercow joined up,but i do remember that a thick skin was a help-----------some of the KOWS are viscious-----------and they practically NEVER stay on their diets----with the exception of Miss WabbyCow of the redesigned bovinity. As i read thru other forums i find that the topics often stay on weight loss and excercise and if i need a fix of that i know where to get it------------it has been mentioned that we all met at the Cybermom and when it closed down we set up shop here----sort of nomadic gypsy cows of the internet. at any rate, you are more than welcome here,as we love to hear another's point of view DO WATCH OUT FOR MISS TURKEY CARCASS AND MISS LOW HEINE----------THEY ARE ACTUALLY BULLS IN DISGUISE. MISSY WABBY!!!---YOUR DH SHOULD COME HERE AND WE WILL LOOK AFTER HIM QUITE NICELY--------SHAMELESS!!!!!! BIG LOL ON THE REDISIGNED TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAME GOES FOR YOU COWPAT----------HERBIE IS TOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And if you understood any of that, Kat, you're a better woman than most! Welcome, feel free to HHS at our silliness!

Congrats on your return to routine, Sugar, I am so jealous of you!! Can I come live with you for a while? We could drink coffee and discuss how we should lose weight someday. When are you going to N.S.? DH has been researching his family tree and he has come up with a whole boatload of relatives from Nova Scotia. Some of them were there when the big (French? Belgian?) armaments ship exploded in the harbor of Halifax, levelling part of the city. Sometime around WWI apparently.

Thank you so much for your support, Lushie-Lo, you all are so understanding. Your grandmother was a very wise lady. I've never heard it put quite that way, but that's so true. If people would understand that the "deal" is part of the point of marriage, maybe it would be easier to figure out what it takes to make it work! I think most people go into marriage with no clear idea at all of what they're doing. Even smart people like us!

Sorry to hear about the car, Cowie. I don't know why things can't run smoothly once in a while, eh? I think next summer you should send DS to car mechanic school instead of these mind-expanding dealies. Did he like the course this year? It was at Duke, right? Did he have to write a thank you note to anyone? Oh, that reminds me, DD needs to write a thank you note to the Music Boosters who gave her scholarship $ for music camp.

I signed DD up for driver's ed -- it starts the beginning of September. By October, we'll be hanging on to the Oh-Sh** handle, stomping our feet on the imaginary brake, and doing a lot of deep breathing. Oy.

Funny you should say that about your DH, Wabbit. My DH expressed sympathy for him when I told him (quite briefly, of course) about your operation. He back-pedalled real quick when he saw that look in my eye, but you know that's the male reaction. He'll get over it, I guess. Maybe you could point out to him that if you start feeling better with his help, he might reap the advantages of a happier wife! I can't believe he bought a boat. How typical.

Well, I ought to find something useful to do today. I know I have to go grocery shopping -- I used up pretty much everything in the house in the past several days because I was putting off going. Ick I hate grocery shopping. I want one of those online grocery shopping services to deliver food to my door.

Here's what I will aim for (but not before school starts -- that gives me a week) -- eating breakfast every day. Adding vegs and fruits to our diet, plenty of water, some kind of exercise every day and no chowing down at midnight. I've got to start going to bed earlier too. June said so.

Gee Kiwi, doing anything every day is exhausting. I agree, though...we should eat in a more healthy way.

DD's diagnosis is confirmed. This is bad news, but not as bad as RA, which is what he thought it was at the beginning of the summer. This means she can't do dance or do sports, possibly never. It reoccurs about 50% of the time. She has at least three more weeks in the immobilizer then physical therapy, which she likes..since she likes everyone at the physical therapy gym. They consider it a plus that if it keeps happening again, they can eventually replace the knee.....that's good??????? Ach.

Wabby, you are going to have to get him back big time for this one. Maybe you could buy yourself something really expensive when you are recovered.

I'm off to buy some healthy food. I've looked for an online grocery service, but none deliver to my house. It is cheap....and I'll bet I'd save without all of those impulse purchases.

bye, L
