Talking The Magic Bullet

This is Shannon's idea, but I figured I'd put it into motion. I just bought the Magic Bullet and am excited to start using it. Everyone I know that has one, LOVES it. So... my question is... what's your favorite thing made with it? I need some ideas...

Thanks!

Wasn't my idea - I think it was marzbe! I like the idea though - the only thing I use the bullet for is smoothies. My mother swears by hers but I really have found no other use for it. I does make a mean smoothie though!

I could do an infomercial for my beloved Bullet. Black Friday when we ran out of the Bella Cucina knock off, I managed to suggestively sell about 30 of them.

Ok, so this is what I use it for most often:
  • Soup: Cherry Tomatos, some cheese, fresh garlic, pulse and heat
  • Smoothies, toss in the components and blend away
  • Ricotta Cheese, toss in veggies, and mozerella chesse, it's ravioli filling
  • Yogurt: whip up a container of Non-Fat Yogurt, it's airy like a Fro-Yo, now that I have the second fat I do it with coconut all the time
  • Omlets, toss in the veggies and the egg beaters it's a nice easy consistency
  • Fruit, I'll actually stick the berries in the freezer for an hour or two, then blend them in with FF cool whip, instant plan friendly sorbet
  • Fruit lemonade: I'll toss in berries or melon and a glass of crystal lite lemonade
  • Ice Cream: Ah mock blizzards I adore thee

I'm sure Cassi will be chiming in with her favorite uses.

I have looked at the magic bullet many times and passed. what exactly makes it better or different from a blender, or food processor, or immersion blender, I have all those and haven't figured out why I need another gadget.

You can make everything right into the Mug.

Plus it all goes into the dishwasher, and the actual base is the size of a coffee grinder. I'm too lazy to wash the actual blender every night.

I want one...I want one! I've been looking on the internet for a "deal" but might just break down and go back to good ole Wally World (Wal-Mart).

Here is my favorite bullet recipe. This recipe actually comes from my WW days. I sent it to the LA dietician for conversion. It is very good and easy to make.

Chocolate Fudge Shake
Ingredients:

2 tbsp sugar-free, fat-free chocolate fudge pudding mix (dry and un-cooked) or any flavor of your choice.
1 cup cold skim milk
About 1/2 cup ice cubes

Preparation:

Puree ingredients in a blender until smooth and thickened. (The bullet blender is awesome and quick for these shakes)

Makes: 1 serving
Serving size: 1 recipe

LA Exchange: 1 Dairy, 1 Condiment

I make "shakes" for my 3yo ALL the time...she loves the peanut butter, banana and milk shake, frozen blueberries and milk...I do scrambled eggs in it, french toast mixture (it soaks into the bread really good when it's blended well), we do tuna and chicken salad...I just love it! I'm actually on my second one because the base broke on my first one. We even took it to Florida with us last week on vacation. And it is a cinch to clean...much, much easier than cleaning a blender or food processor. I actually got rid of those because I never use them any more.

That EXACTLY why I haven't gotten one yet. I'm in a "too many kitchen appliances" mode. But..... this thread is peaking my interest again.....

My mother got me one for Christmas a couple of years ago. I already have 2 food processors and a blender. I use the bullet for smoothies because it's lighter than the blender. I don't ever make anything in the individual cups as I'm always making it for 2. Quite frankly if I didn't have one given to me I wouldn't have one. My mother SWEARS by hers and says it's the best thing to come along since fire but I just don't see it yet. I don't really like my veggies pulvarized so I chop them by hand, I don't want tuna in liquid form. I'm just hoping for someone to post something here that really gives my bullet a purpose.

I was looking around for these recently and found that Bed, Bath and Beyond had them for $59 and this was the original Magic Bullet not a knock off. This was a couple of weeks ago, but most every where else they were $99. Can't remember how much they were at Walmart.

Last time I saw one at Walmart, I think it was around $56. The $99. is the deluxe edition sold on TV, that inclues a blender attachment and a blender. There are some other things included in that one too, like special tops, etc.

I was just getting a little dissapointed with my blender making smoothies. The frozen things (ice, bananas, furuit, etc.) would stick at the bottom where the blades couldn't reach it, so I would have chunky smoothies.

My sister is a barista and is so excited to make some mixed coffee drinks. I'll let you know how they turn out!

Do let us know Amy - its always fun experimenting with stuff like that.
My blender is not working really great anymore, and I am considering buying a bullet .....

Heres something I tried the other day and it was yummy.
I took one of the bottles of the Starbucks Frappicino drinks - (it was vanilla flavour but any flavour would work. Put it in blender with some crushed ice, about a 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt to make it thicker and a banana.

mmm mmm mmm ....... very good.

I use my Bullet for making salsa, sauces and shakes. I also use it for chopping veggies for chick and tuna salad. When I make shakes I use a little water or milk (depends), put ice, then fruit or powder lite, and close it. The blade gets to the ingredients better this way I have found. No lumps. I keep mine at work and bring it home on the weekends.

Now I hadn't thought about salsas - Do you have some salsa recipes? It doesn't chop the veggies to mush?
