even with the tuna and chicken salad ...... does it mush that up? Tuna would be okay I guess, but I like chicken salad kind of chunky.

How about chopped onions? Does it work good for that?

Love making tuna salad in the bullet and bringing it to work! I like mine kind of a "pate" consistency, so it works well. One of the drawbacks to the bullet is you need to get the hang of pulsing it and not pulverizing everything.

My favorites LAWL shake: 1 packet LA Vanilla Shake, 1/2c crushed canned pineapple, 1pkt Splenda, 4 ice cubes, 4oz cold water. Put the water and ice in first, add the pineapple next, then the shake mix and splenda. You want to add the dry ingredients last so that when you put the blade/lid on the dry ingredients are on the bottom to get mixed in.

It counts as a Lite and a Fruit.

One or two quick taps handles the chopping. It's just an art of doing it right.

i kinda want one of these things. i have seen the infomercials for them quite some time ago, but they were pretty pricey. not sure if it was the deluxe version or if it was because they were just coming out or what.
but i don't have a huge food processor (only a mini 1cup) but use my blender all the time for smoothies. hmmm.
maybe that will be my reward when i hit 30lbs.

btw, megan, where do you work?

I'm a merch coordinator for Macys. Which by the way has the Bella Cucina versions on sale for $29.99 next Tuesday and Wednesday. I even think they're the $19.99 morning special for anyone who doesn't want to invest a fortune.

Well there's my problem. I plug it in and let it roar. I don't think there's a button on mine to make it pulse, I guess I'd just unscrew it from the base or unplug it. I will look at it again when I get home but I think I would have noticed a pulse button!

anyone know what the best in store price is? Walmart has it for $58, so one should be careful on ebay and not go over that with S&H. I saw quite a few for over $40 then add S&H and you might as well go to Walmart and get it today instead of wait.

all this info is good, but I noticed every one is comparing it to a food processor or a blender. but does anyone have an immersion blender? I love mine, but not sure if the bullet would be better.

Shannon--there's not a pulse button--you didn't miss it--you just push the cup straight down which does the same as a pulse button--if you turn it slightly then it locks and pulverizes--which works for me because I don't like "chunky" stuff. We could not share salsa!

Megan - thanks for the tip about Macy's having the Bella Cucina Rocket blending set on sale at Macy's next week. My Macy's flyer (which I rarely read) came today and sure enough, there's the blender...regularly 59.99 but on sale next Tuesday & Wed (June 12 and 13) morning (while supplies last) from 9A to 1P for only US$19.99. It will be $29.99 after the 1 PM deadline. I put a note to get there at 9 AM Tuesday to get myself one...I'll be a tad late for work!
Of course I had to google to see if I could find some reviews on the Bella and I found this very interesting blog site...runs the gammit from love the bullet to hate it.....my favorite comment was "this product has the same name as a sex toy... thats enough to put me off. " then further down someone corrects this person and says the toy is called the silver bullet!! lol....

I went to a charity auction earlier this spring and saw a Magic Bullet. After four weeks of using the blender to make protein shakes, I swore I was going to win that Magic Bullet come heck or high water...and I did!

It's been the BEST thing I bought to help with my workouts almost equal to my good running shoes.

But seriously, I love how simple the clean up is. If mine broke for some reason, I'd run out tomorrow and buy another.
