Doughnut peaches are peaches that look like someone let all the air out of them somehow. You can probably find a picture of one if you Google. When I've had them before they were very sweet and flavorful. I'm leery of buying peaches at most grocery stores, because they usually go from hard directly to mushy and tasteless, but I'm taking a gamble on these. A good peach is one of my favorite fruits, but I rarely get lucky.

Hi all.....first and foremost....THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for being so encouraging to me this morning and afternoon....Had I not rec'd any response I could have easily 'endulged' what I should not have. Boy oh boy - I was so upset...I never get on the scale during the week, but I thought "gee I have been so good, why not" and then to see THAT!!!! ughhhhhh
Angela the girls are Adorable.....just too precious!!! God Bless them!
Vickie good going girl.....you are so inspiring ..........as are you Terry... ..you both do so well.....
Cher hang in there....I hear ya!!! Struggle seems to be another name I have acquired.
Maybe because 10 lbs is not that overwhelming in numbers, but geez to lose it is a real struggle. I was hoping to be back to my goal by Mem Day, that changed to 4th of July, and now as I said many many posts ago, it's now Labor Day....i-yia-yia!!
Sandra I know exactly what you meant by the scale making it worse for me....that was my first thought....just to say to **** with it....but I came here and wrote about in first thing this morning.....it is a struggle every single day!!!
Melissa did I miss the news!!! Is Aaron in!!!!!
Everyone else I hope you are all ok.....I have so much to still read.....but I have to tell you I was visiting the WW.com boards.....my Lord there were some nasty words between some posters that were so uncalled for...boy people can get nasty.....but why??? we are all in the same boat, trying to work our program.....I even felt uncomfortable reading it....it just went on and on with some very sarcastic overtones....Sure glad we are ALL pleasant people here
Well all...have a good evening....once again when "I" get back here there will be sooooo much to read........
Again, thanks for always being there............Linda

Give me a good nectarine any day. Actually, since I started Core, I've really appreciated many fruits and veggies I didn't before (including peaches). And, I always HATED beans before - wouldn't even eat them in chili. After starting Core and making myself eat them a few times, I discovered they're pretty darn good!

What foods have you all re-discovered due to Core? I'm curious.

Vickie, WAY TO GO on an awesome loss! I'm beginning to think that blinking really works. But actually, I really know it's due to all your hard work and swimming.

And how's this for a NSV (non-scale victory)? I took my last package of super movie theater butter popcorn and fed it to the kids this afternoon so I wouldn't be tempted. Buttery popcorn is a huge weakness of mine. I will get these last 6 off, I will!

Time to go cook dinner for the girls... later!

Angela, congratulations! I know how hard that was to give your favorite popcorn to the kids. You will succeed because you intend to! I like nectarines better than peaches too! The fur grosses me out. I'll eat peaches if someone peels it for me.

Cher, it's great to have a supportive spouse. Maybe once he knows he's impacting your health routine, he'll move a little faster. I'll hope so for your sake. I know that you and I both lose slowly. It would be bad news for my weight loss efforts if I couldn't get my exercise in.

Linda, I used to read the WW boards a long time ago before I got here. That sniping and nastiness is EXACTLY why I came here and stayed. I go there once in a blue moon when I'm up and can't sleep and no one is here to play with. Once in a while I'll post a recipe or something. I'm MacDuff's Mom on WW's boards. MacDuff was my other Scottie. I'm glad we are all the way we are. We're lucky to have only nice supportive people posting here. I'm glad you're feeling better tonight. I sure realized that your post from this morning was a desperate one!

Sandra, how'd you do today? I've kind of given up on fresh peaches and nectarines too and gone to frozen. I'm going to start going to my Farmers Market this Saturday to see what they have. Maybe the produce will be better from them.

Well I enjoyed my swim. It still forecast to only be 79 here tomorrow and not hot enough to swim again until next Monday or Tuesday. I guess now I have no excuse except to get more chores done!

Hope you are all having great evenings. I'm off to make us some salads now and cook dinner.

angela, that's a big step giving up your popcorn. congratulations. you'll have that last 6 off in no time.

vickie, thanks for asking. i'm having a grand day. curtis and i got picked up (sponsored by and will wear their logos on our shooting shirts) by 2 different businesses today. we took our shirts in and are getting them embroidered. our shirts were given to us by martin bow manufacturers. we're both excited about these sponsorships. curtis is out at the archery club range now doing some yardwork. i'm home recuping from pt. he did a shock treatment on my left foot today. i've been cleared to shoot this weekend. i'm just to dropout if necessary. (ain't gonna happen)

right now, i'm nibbling on cinnamon/granola muffin tops and sipping a caffeine free diet coke. the muffin tops are 2 pts for 6 of them. they are a little like big cookies. i'm in heaven.

i've decided not to worry about wi tomorrow. i'll just do what i can and let the scales land where they will. i don't think i could do anything to make them do otherwise anyway. i was also cleared today to start biking. curtis is going to get our bikes out and ready tomorrow. finally, i'll be exercising again!

i know you'd like to swim this weekend. maybe the weather guessers are wrong and it will be warmer. i hope so. congratulations again for your beautiful results. i'm proud of you.

Chicks!! So much in a day's time!
Aaron and I went out for a celebratory dinner tonight. I was bad but I'm not worrying about it. The real challenge will be this weekend when we go to his parents for a 4th of July/Job Celebration dinner on Saturday evening. MIL always has great "snacky" foods and I'm very weak. She is the kind of person who's not happy unless everyone is eating. But I love her to death! What kind of plans do you guys have for the weekend?
We rented "Hitch" tonight and better get to watching it before its time for me to sleep!

Angela, I think Core has made me re-discover fruit. And I've discovered applesauce for the first time. I never liked it, but when I started core I got some just b/c it would be a good snack at work. And now it has grown on me. Your girls are so cute in their pj's!!

Sandra, glad you are having a better day today. You and I may have a scary w/i tomorrow, right? I'm sure I probably won't after our dinner out tonight. Oh well, on to our goal for next week. We may or may not reach it but I think it is good to have goals. Keeps me going anyway. I hope that your foot is doing okay. PT didn't sound like much fun. I hope that you have a great time this weekend and are GOOD to yourself!!

Vickie, glad you got your swimming in today. I miss swimming, I used to LOVE it as a kid. But now I am embarassed to go to a public pool, and no one in my family has one anymore. I think if we had one I would be able to get better exercise in. You are right about the church stuff going slow. The other committee will probably not be able to meet with Aaron for another week so it will be a week or two yet. Oh well, it is just a relief knowing that it will happen eventually. Oh and for your weigh-in!! That is so great.

Linda, yep, you missed it!! Aaron got a call last night with the church offering him the job. They haven't worked it all out yet, that will take at least another week, but it is on the table. Don't let the scale get you too down. I wonder if that gain is a result of previous eating, maybe before your "core" days? Just a thought, I can't remember what you were doing last week. Heck, I can't remember what I was doing last week.

Terry, thanks for your help with that recipe, and for the congrats! Oh and I like the way that you set your friend straight! That's hilarious.

Cher, I'm sure that you will get your routine together soon. It can't be easy getting used to that kind of schedule. Good for you for getting even one walk in today.

Kathy, how was your class?

Is Frouf on vacation this week? I can't remember.

Well ladies I am going to rip DH away from his guitar and make him watch this movie with me. Good night!!!

For produce like pears, peaches and nectarines, I intentionally buy them unripe. Then I bring them home and close them in a paper bag on the countertop for a few days until they get ripe. They always seem to taste better that way than if I buy them at the store ripe. I guess it's that "home-ripened" flavor.

The produce I think is WAY better from the home garden though, is tomatoes. I am so looking forward to vine-ripened, sun-warmed Iowa tomatoes. My favorite way to eat them was sliced thick in a sandwich. Grant's Farm wheat berry bread, Miracle Whip, and tomatoes. Mmm. Sometimes I'd slice a garden fresh cucumber into it too. Guess I'll have to come up with a Core equivalent. Maybe polenta bread!

I just read over that paragraph, and I sound like an Iowa tourism commercial. Imagine a deep reassuring voice saying, "Come to the Heartland of America, and enjoy fresh, home-grown produce like none other. Only in Iowa can it grow so good." Then add some smarmy heart-wrenching music and fade to a panning shot of a white farmhouse and an immaculate red barn, a green, lush cornfield, and a man in a feed cap holding hands with a woman in a print dress, with kids and a dog frolicking around them.

Can you tell I've got WAY too much time on my hands? Dh is still out golfing - it's been almost 12 hours now. Oh well, I guess he's getting exercise, huh?

No one has been here for 2 hours? Wow, I don't know if I've ever seen the place so empty. Good night all!

So ... I was leaving work this afternoon and the admin (a friend) stopped me and said "Are you going to Humperdinks?" I said um, no, I'm going home ... why? She said Judd and some of his friends had gone, and she was headed over there. I thought for a minute and said oh sure. I'll go. So I went. After a few hours we decided to leave there and go to Hooter's for something to eat. So we did. Sigh ... and let's just say that it wasn't pretty but I ended up driving everyone else home so I must have been the good one!! I have to pick them up in the morning, take them back to get their vehicles. DH and his friend are going to Dallas to play golf with another coworker and DH told me he might not be home tomorrow night but instead will stay over at this guy's house.

I'm working for 5 hours tomorrow and that's it until Tuesday. My hopes are to drink a ton of water all weekend and show a good loss on Monday morning. At least ... that's the PLAN!!

Well, thank God you were the good one! I don't think I could go to work tomorrow. At least you have a nice long weekend coming. I'll be spending my day tomorrow waiting for the AHS referral to come fix our garage door opener. Oh Well, at least it won't interfere with my swimming since it'll only be 80 here.

Good Night, All!

Wow! Dead board alert! Froufy, where are you?

I'm just up at 7:30 this morning and feeling very rested. It's going to be kind of cool today only up to 80 so after I exercise I'll probably open up all of the windows. I have chores to do around the house that I've neglected to swim in my pool like a big kid!

And...I'm on the quest for a good Core cold cereal. I'm going to make a list of all the Core ones and try some of them and/or try to find others with the same nutrional information perhaps at Trader Joe's.

Hope you all have a great morning. I'll be back later to see if any of my friends have been around.
