What the heck is a spirooli????

septembersgoal 06-25-2005 06:07 PM

Kathy, I hope that you have a great time tonight. I have never heard of that restaurant, I guess we don't have one here in the sticks of KY. We do have a Bonefish Grill, which sounds remarkably similar, doesn't it? Who knows. Anyway, have fun and I'll talk to you tomorrow or later tonight! :D Oh, and I can't even see your temperature thing anymore! I used to, until everyone started talking about it. Now I don't even see it. Is it just me?

Sandra, I have no idea what you are talking about. I have never even heard of that thing!! You could be talking in a foreign language for all I know! Oh I just crack myself up.

ontarget 06-25-2005 06:09 PM

i don't recommend getting a spirooli. but a lot of folks use them to crank out noodle type foods out of zucchini. we can have ww pasta so we don't really need it. i did enjoy zoodling (making noodles) out of potatoes, though. remember curly fries? they are good--but alas! my spirooli is in the pantry--unused and unloved.

Well, you know, things are slower here in Iowa... :D Actually, I think the time is different on mine because this particular weather sticker only updates every once in a while, not continuously like Kathy's.

I found that I had to do a little html editing to make it work. When I tried it Kathy's way, it couldn't find the website at all. I'll try again though.

Sandra, I sent you a pm but I don't think that you've gotten it. I was just wondering if you used vanilla or banana flavored pudding when you made the banana pie? I think I am going to make one tomorrow for my step-dad's bday and I'm going to the store tonight. Which would you recommend?

aghiowa 06-25-2005 07:11 PM

OK, Kathy's way works... if you want her weather gizmo thing, right click on hers and follow her instructions. If you want a state flag like mine, I think you can click on mine and follow the same steps. Whew!

melissa, did i catch you in time? i used vanilla pudding but i think either would work. you're going to love this pudding. are you going to use vanilla wafers?

Vickie 06-25-2005 10:03 PM

Hi Guys! I see no one is online. I've been swimming all day and my eyes are about to close. I just wanted to hop online and say Hi! You guys put almost 3 pages out today! I'm going to go read everthing now!

I did it Kathy! Thanks for your help. I struggled a bit and finally figured out that I had to use the "add image" option and paste the URL in THAT box in order to make the temperature/time show up.

Katpo 06-25-2005 10:57 PM

I'm home! It was a quiet night. We went to Rockfish and I had a little bit of everything. Then one of the girls who went with us started feeling bad, so we just came back to our house and gave her some Mylanta, then went to the corner bar to talk. She left after about an hour and we stayed for a little while longer. DH is taking the other friend home right now and I came on home since we were in separate cars. It wasn't the wild night out that we thought, but we're okay with that.

Vickie 06-26-2005 08:59 AM

Good Morning Friends! It's 7:45 and I've only been up for an hour. It'll be nice to get an early start on the day. Last night and the night before, I slept straight through until morning without getting up once. That's a miracle for an older girlie like me! I'd say that the swimming has me plum tuckered out!

Melissa, you put me to shame. You did more in your first hour of your day off than I did all day! I agree on not starving yourself. That's the main reason that I'm on Core. I was tired of choosing badly and being hungry all the time on Flex. If I only lose a pound a week, I can live with that. I feel less obsessed than when I was on Flex but I do need to start planning better. I'll be picking two new entrees today and Jim will be grocery shopping for us.

Vivian, focus on the 14 pounds gone and not your recent gain. I'm very thankful that nothing bad happened while you were without Homeowner's Insurance.

Kath, I LOVE kolache's. Now there is a serious trigger food for me. Set them down and back away! :( Hope Judd gets his bike repaired for less than $4,000. Sounds like he is pretty enterprising. I hope I am building some muscle but also hope that it starts burning fat pretty soon! Too bad your night out was so quiet and ended early. It sounds like you were good on program though!

Sandra, I float alot but I swim/run too! I make whirlpools then turn around and try to run in the other directions. I jump up and down and do waist twists with my arms underwater to cause resistance. I think I am getting some exercise. Our pool is 18 ft round and is 52 inches deep which is a little deeper than the standard above ground pool. I hope the Limbrel works for you. I'm always afraid to try those because they hurt my stomach. It would be great if there was ANY kind of anti-inflamatory that I could take. So what's the review on that cobbler? There's drool on my chin here!

Linda, you will LOVE the cornmeal chicken, especially leftover cold for lunch. Congratulations on your loss. I have a small food processor like Kathy and Melissa. I used to use it too chop veggies (it mostly emulsified them) but now use a chopper that I bought off of QVC. Now I just use it to make bagged coleslaw be finer. I also use my blender constantly, as you know, to make my smoothies. Our pool is great and it is wonderful to be able to walk out the back door and jump in. Sandra made a good point about distractions helping us not to eat. When I'm in the pool I'm not thinking about eating. That's good!

Angela, how are you and DD feeling?

Lisa, Welcome Home!

Where's Billie? Sandra, didn't you teach her how to find us?

Froufie, Terry......

Terry, I'm thinking about going to Taste of Chicago on Monday to see the White Sox. Not sure I can control myself. I'm thinking of employing the two bite rule. Jim buys it and I take two bites and then he eats the rest. We like all the same food anyway. What I really want is a Rainbow Cone. I grew up with them on the southside and I really want one all to myself. I'm betting it's about 15 points.

Well, it's very cloudy here. I haven't checked the weather yet, but it definitely looks like rain. Maybe that will force me to finally plan some menus!

Talk with you all later.

aghiowa 06-26-2005 10:42 AM

Morning everyone! It finally rained last night - big crashing thunderstorm etc. Of course, yesterday was the day my dad cut a hole in the side of his house to install a new window! :D

I am still feeling cruddy. My throat/neck still is quite swollen and sore. I have more energy than before, but I sure wish my throat would stop hurting. Oh well.

I wish I had a pool so handy for me, but I would live in constant fear of my girls falling in. Oh, here's something funny. You remember Annika's black eye? Well, it's healing, but is still pretty obviously a black eye. So yesterday dh took the two older girls boating, and Madeline got whacked in the head with the kneeboard. So now she has a black eye too! To make matters even worse, it's the same eye as Annika's. Now they match! People are really going to think we beat our kids now. I'm just waiting for the baby to get one too... Then I think I'd have to go into hiding until they healed. :)

Well, better get the beautiful little girls :p dressed for church. Sigh - another day goes on...

Angela

Morning girls!

I got all my family off this morning and it turned out to be a pleasant weekend....foodwise - well, it wasn't bad at all, but dinner last night was a little rich, plus I had cake......so after the weekend, I will jump back on the bandwagon. I do want to see a loss when I go to the meeting Thursday!

I did make that 5 can soup with the beans and rotel - THAT SOUP ROCKED!!! I can see that will be a staple on my menu.....

I will stop by later after I pick up my house!

I still am amazed at how much activity is on this thread!

ontarget 06-26-2005 11:56 AM

good morning. it's good to see some of you here so early. we're going to go out later and practice shooting some 3d targets so we'll be ready for a 3d tournament next weekend. life is good.

vickie, billie probably doesn't have time to get here too often. i wish she could. you're all going to love her. she and i met via another weightloss site and have become good friends. she lives on the eastern side of the u.s. and i live in montana. we call each other on the phone almost every week. as to that cobbler--i like it but curtis doesn't. if i make it again, i won't put the granola on top. i'll bake the "pie" first then just sprinkle granola on individual servings. it's getting soggy already. it's really a crisp instead of a cobbler. i don't know why it was called cobbler on the website where i got it. i'll go post it on desserts. you might like it. i made changes and used ff sc and splenda instead of ff yogurt. if you make it, let me know what you think.

angela, 2 daughters with black eyes! you have some tough little girls, don't you? i sure hope dd #3 doesn't get one, too. wouldn't that be something?

cindy, you'll still have a loss this week if you just keep on keepin' on. and it sounds like that's your plan. i made the 5 can soup, too. it's good, isn't it? thank you again, kathy for the idea.

kathy, i'm sorry your night didn't go as planned and that your friend got ill. it sounds like ya'll had a good time anyway. that's good.

Katpo 06-26-2005 12:00 PM

Hey! Good Sunday morning to all!

Well, it's 10:57 and I just got up about five minutes ago. I actually got up at 6:30 to let the dogs go potty, but went back to bed. It feels good to get some much-needed rest. This week I have to work four 10-hour days in order to have Friday off and get a 4-day weekend.

Judd is out in the garage working on the shelves. I'm about to see if I can find something to eat. There are pork chips thawed that need to be cooked tonight, but sleeping late threw off my three meal schedule.

Vickie 06-26-2005 12:33 PM

Angela, you'll be lucky if the Children and Family Services people don't come calling! Sorry you now have two with black eyes but they must be active little girls! I hope your throat gets better soon. My last one took almost 3 weeks to go away. We didn't get a drop of rain and none is in our forecast. I can't remember the last time we went this long without rain.

Sandra, I thought your friend Billie was local with you. Maybe she'll have time to come chat with us one of these days. I'm going to go check out your recipe. I hope you're having fun at practice now. Jim is out shopping and when he comes home we'll have lunch and go in the pool.

Kath, I'm glad you got some much needed sleep.

I'm doing laundry now to surprise Jim when he comes home. He usually does it. He's not feeling too good yesterday and today.
