Hey ladies! Just jumping in to say hi really quickly. DH and I are going to bum around this afternoon, then we are going to my parent's for my step-dad's bday dinner. We have already eaten terribly today, so I'm going to try to control myself this evening. Things went well this morning, and we are expecting to hear the church's decision this week. :crossed: But from what everyone said this morning, things look good.
I hope that you all have a beautiful Sunday, whatever you're doing!! :D |
Oh and do you guys want to do another challenge? If yes, what? Are you bored with them? Not interested? Interested? I personally find them helpful. What do you all think?
|
curtis is still asleep. can you believe it? it's after 11 am here. i guess we'll go practice this afternoon. i decided to bake chicken instead of doing the cornmeal fried. now, i'm just trying to keep quiet so i don't wake him up.
vickie, i'm sorry jim is ill. is this related to arthritis or is it viral? i just ate some berry crisp (cobbler or whatever it is). i like it all right. i didn't re-crisp the top afterall. kathy, i tried, but i couldn't make the timetemp thing copy onto my signature. i live in missoula, MT. could you pm me the url? thank you for your help. i'm still not too good with puter stuff--just the basics, i guess. |
melissa, i'm definitely up for a challenge. what about something like a time thingee? i am trying to stop eating before 7 pm. would something like that be good? i'm open for anything. let us know how the pudding goes over tonight. i'm feeling positive about aaron's job. keep us posted.

thank you, kathy, for sending me the url. what did i do wrong? am i having a lucy moment?
|
Go like this without the spaces:
[ img ] then the URL [ /img ] |
thank you, kathy. here it is!!!!
|
Most of the URL is missing in your properties. Go back and re-copy the entire URL. It's kinda long but you need it all.
|
Still missing. This is what I'm seeing in your property box: (minus the spaces, of course)
http : //banners.wunderground.com/ban...MT/Missoula.gif It should be this: http : //banners.wunderground.com/banner/gizmotimetemp_both/launguage/www/US/MT/Missoula.gif See how yours is shortened? Copy the whole thing above and replace what you've got there with the long one. |
Right click on my link and go all the way down to properties. You'll see the long URL there.
|
if it doesn't work this time, i have to stop for awhile and finish making lunch. curtis is starving. thanks for helping, kathy.

dumb question
:?: Is there a difference between Rolled Oats and or Quick Oats??
If so, what?? And if looking for Rolled Oats, will the box/container say that?? I know, I know, dumb......imagine how I feel asking  Thanks |
The "US" part is missing in your URL. That's okay -- you'll get it eventually. I agree that lunch is more important than a little temperature box!
It goes between www and MT to look like this www/US/MT instead of www/MT. Make sense? |
HOUSTON, WE HAVE LIFT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kathy, thanks to you and the good ole US we now have the timetempgizmo thingee!!!!!!!!!! okay, now are you ready to help everybody else? just kidding. i'll bet everyone else can do this easier than i did. i changed lunch plans and had roasted chicken breasts. i'll make the cornmeal chicken another time. (these i could roast while i was working on the signature thingee.) |
linda, i found this info on the net:
Here are some definitions from "Great Grains" by Linda Drachman and Peter Wynne, Fireside Books, 1990. I'll also add in the definition of instant oats, to help you distinguish. "Rolled 'old-fashioned' oats are oats that have been softened slightly by steaming, then flattened between steel rollers. They cook in a fraction of the time required for steel-cut oats--little more than five minutes. Rolled 'quick-cooking' oats are oats that are steamed and cut into three or fourslices before being flattened by rollers. This reduces the cooking time to littlemore than 1 minute. 'Instant' oatmeal is rolled very thin, precooked, then dehydrated. The oats are rehydrated instantly by adding boiling water. Instant oatemals are often packaged with flavorings, sugar and salt included." ************** Personally I use both the rolled ('five minute') oats and 'one minute' (otherwise known as 'quick-cooking') oats interchangeably in cookie, muffin and quick- bread recipes. Either kind can be used interchangeably in the topping for crumbles and crisps, too. |
