Okay, that was weird. My last post was a reply to one by L.J. and now hers is gone.

All right, who's eating the posts?

ontarget 06-24-2005 05:47 PM

vickie, i'm short and stocky, too. even saying that i'm aiming for 150 for my goal. my doctor set that goal for me a few years ago. i'll never be very small--but i should be healthier.

angela, dh is young to be having those problems. i know that young men feel indestructable so you're prob going to have a hard time convincing him he needs to change. i don't have any suggestions except maybe get the doctor to talk with him and stress the importance of eating right. good luck. and as to the young girls, just get some calgon. that's all i know to do. i'm glad you're feeling better. you've had it rough lately, haven't you?

kathy, your son is in my prayers. i'm glad zuki is better. he's worth those payments.

terry, i'll post the cornmeal burger bun idea in a minute. thank you for asking about it. i like your ideas, too. i'm also thinking of maybe making quesadillas. what do you think?

andrea, i don't earn any aps. i'm like vickie with the slow metabolism. also, i'm not able to do much now with my feet problems. "into every life a little junk must fall." is one of my sayings.

ladydreamer (terri?), i have plantar faciitis (sp?) on my left foot along with spurs. my right foot has multi spurs and also a fracture that never healed properly. i know exactly what you mean about walking on glass. the doctor has me upgraded now to walking on bruises. congratulations to you for hopping back on that core wagon. i like your message under your username. i'm "always dieting", too.

frouf, i was dreading this am's wi, too. i'm in my orthotics (sp?) now and will begin physical therapy tuesday. i'm to have pt twice per week till that tournament. i hope insurance pays for it. they are not paying for my anti-inflammatory. it's brand new on the market. i don't know what the prob is with their not covering it. i will call them to find out, though. i'll be waiting to hear that you've lost that lb. sounds like you're going to have a fun makeover tomorrow. that always gives me a lift. enjoy tonight. i hope you get some sleep. i had a son and no dd's so i never hosted any sleepovers. i do remember having them when i was a dd, though. i'll bet my parents were glad when i grew up and moved out. i was probably a handful.

terry, i like your words of wisdom. you're right. we need to adapt our thinking to life in general. do you have a race this weekend? i'm curious. how did you get started in this? i'll bet it's a lot of fun. and soooooooooooooo exciting and uplifting.

cindy, we eat a lot of those granola bars when we're in a competition. are you talking about the fruit & nut bars? have you tried the new peanut bars? almond bars?

cher, i'm eating my waps, too. i don't always eat all of them, but i know i can if i want. i agree with you 100%. waps make this doable for me.

linda, i don't know what to say. just that flex and core both work. it sounds like you aren't having problems with satisfaction any more. if flex gives you that relief, then i'd stick with it. however, if you prefer core, then you might want to switch back. being content is the main thing. we have to be relaxed and enjoy this journey. i did )

dh and i went to cracker barrel for lunch. i used my waps (5 of them) for cornbread. i don't normally do that but i felt like a little treat today. now i'm treated and happy. i'll head over now to post my cornmeal concoction for burgers and cornpones in general.

i'll be back later to see what's going on with each of you. have a good friday afternoon.

vickie, here's that banana pudding recipe. i'll go post it in desserts, too.

1 sm pkg sf/ff vanilla (or banana cream) pudding mix
1/2 cup granular splenda
1/2 cup ff milk
1 cup ff sour cream
1 tub ff cool whip (the original recipe calls for the l14 oz tub, but i made mine yesterday with the 8 oz size and it worked well.)
1 or 2 ripe bananas sliced

whisk milk, splenda and ff sc together. add pudding mix and stir continue whisking till smooth. fold in ff cool whip. add banana slices and refrigerate till served.

i added homemade granola to mine for the crunchiness. it was awesome!!!!

melissa or anyone else, do you know how many pts for 8 oz ff cool whip? if you use the 14 oz, you have to count the whole recipe as 10 pts. 8 oz should be somewhere around 5.5 pts for the whole thing. am i right?

You people just wear me out! I don't even think I can respond to everybody, but thanks for the good thoughts for DS and DD(og). Actually, Zuki should be considered another DS since he swears he's human. He's like ... "Dog? Who, ME?"

DS got finished with his orientation, went and had the physical, got uniforms, paperwork and is all set to start Monday morning at 5 a.m. I gave him $100 cash this morning, and then when I dropped him off, a check for $500. He said he was going to walk to the bank, didn't want me to take him. Whatever. So I got 2-3 miles away and the cell phone rang. It was him saying the car was ready, and could I pick him up at the grocery store near his apartment? I did, and when he got in he said they wouldn't cash my check for him but he needed to cash it at a Compass bank (my bank). Sigh ... so I said give me the check, I'll tear it up, go to the ATM, and get you $500 cash. I went to the ATM, tried to get $500 and it said "your daily cash withdrawal limit has been reached" or something lame like that. Another sigh ... so I got $200 and said let's go find a bank. We called and got directions to the nearest (was NOWHERE near my branch), went there, I cashed a check for $300 and gave it to him. Now by this time we have 30 minutes to find the car repair shop before they closed. We drove up and down this street where it was supposed to be. A big gray building, can't miss it. Right. Up and down the street, up and down the street, up and down ... okay, let's just call them! He tries but his cell phone is dead. Another BIG sigh ... we find the number, use my phone. It's a BLUE building, with no markings. Well how the freak were we supposed to find it like that? Can't miss it, my butt!!! I dropped him off to pay but waited because if the rest of the day was any indication, disaster was right around the corner. But nope, the car was ready, they brought it up to him, I left. End of that story. I hope it stays fixed because he sure needs a happy ending to the day.

My mom is sending another $500 so hopefully between the two of us we can cover his rent, utilites, car payment, food, groceries, etc. until he gets paid. I'm more worried about keeping his spirits up because this job is going to be back-breaking work with long hours. Good pay, but hard work. I think he's up for it. Poor boy weighs like 135 soaking wet ... he's little but wirey!

And now, little DD is applying for a job at Wells Fargo call center and says if she gets it, she'll be making twice as much as she does now and will be moving out in a few months. I say more power to ya, girlie! Maybe I can get some sleep then!

I'm going to re-read posts in a little while and maybe will be able to reply. We are one whacked-out buncha folks, don't you think? Never a dull moment in this little group!

ontarget 06-24-2005 07:44 PM

kathy, what a day! i hope this is the beginning of good things for both dd and ds. (and you) i like your clock/thermometer in your signature. you sure make it easy for me to know what the weather's like at my son's. thank you. there are a lot of posts and lots of stuff going on here, aren't there. i spent a long long time online here today trying to get caught up. is there any such thing as being caught up?

Katpo 06-24-2005 07:51 PM

Hey speaking of that clock thing, if you right-click on it and copy the properties into another browser window, you can change the location to your own, then copy the URL back into your signature. Anyone can have one!

And no, one can never get caught up. I think I've finally learned to admit that.

ontarget 06-24-2005 10:25 PM

melissa, i hope you had a better day today. thank goodness for weekends, right?

aghiowa 06-24-2005 10:37 PM

Kathy, how do you get around the 3FC rule of no external links?

Angela

Katpo 06-24-2005 10:43 PM

Uh ... I don't know! I guess I didn't know there was a rule! You mean for pictures and stuff like that?

aghiowa 06-24-2005 10:46 PM

Well, I went to the site, copied the url, tried to paste it into my signature, and a little warning thingy came up saying that 3FC no longer allows links to external sites, and that we can't advertise other sites. That rule came about right before 3FC decided to make their own weight trackers - probably so we didn't have to go to that old ticker site. Maybe you put your weather thing in before the rule changed. Darn! I wanted a weather thingy too. :(

Angela

Katpo 06-24-2005 10:47 PM

I have written to the moderator of the Core forum and asked about it. If it's against the rules, I'll delete it. Maybe you're right, that I put it in before the rules changed. ????

aghiowa 06-24-2005 10:48 PM

Dh and I went to Cold Stone tonight, and I tried the SF/FF Sweet Cream ice cream with raspberries. It was really good, although I only ate about 1/3 of the smallest size. I'm saving the rest for later. It was just so sweet! Guess that's a good sign, huh?

I'm going to bed soon. I think dh is going boating tomorrow, and taking the older dd's. Aaah. Maybe I'll work in the garden. Maybe I'll take a nap. :)

Later!
Angela

septembersgoal 06-24-2005 11:48 PM

Hey chicks!
I'm not even going to try to catch up tonight, but I'll be back tomorrow. I would have been here earlier but our internet has been messed up tonight. :p I guess its just as well, I've been feeling really tired tonight and have just been resting. I think that I might be getting sick...hopefully not!
I did w/i this morning and miraculously I was the same as last week. After the week I have had it truly is a miracle! I was satisfied with that given my eating/no exercising this week. I am hoping to do better next week. I can't imagine what it would be like to step on the scale and see the 180's!!! Its been a long time!
I am going to say good night for now, I'll "talk" to you guys tomorrow!

Vickie 06-25-2005 12:13 AM

I had a great day but I'm really tired now! I'll be back bright and early tomorrow. Not sure what time but Niece and her DH and Great Niece/Nephew are coming back to swim again tomorrow. They had fun tonight but I was only back in for about an hour. Hope you all had great evenings.

WWEnthusiast 06-25-2005 07:41 AM

Hey Cher....I noticed my post is gone!!! how weird....is someone trying to tell me something :D I did read your answer and it made sense.....I guess my next question was.....Ok I understand about the soup thing (kinda) so if one should have stopped (Core) and not points, how do we explain.... we can eat a whole bag of popcorn on core or can we??? Or should the whole bag not be eaten or eaten until satisfied....
Thing is, not many people @ my meeting do core and so we don't go there much!!! Oh well....I'm still learing....counting and learning and measuring, the gamit!!
I was however down .4 yesterdays w/i - whoop-de-doo!! Mostly core choice foods but low points day....go figure...I guess I better go back and read the article on 'The Science Behind Core'
If you all think this board is fast...........I went to WW website and their Core group....good Lord, there had to pages and pages in just a few hours......talk about not catching up. Wow!!!
I guess eventually I'll do something right...you're right Sandra...relax and enjoy it....whatever 'it' is
Have a good day all...........just thought I'd pop in...there is NO way I can ever catch up with all of you........Linda
