greetings everyone,
Kathy - I wish you lots of willpower tomorrow...and remember .... we are always going to be tested with temptations .... "Don't bit the apple".
I just keep telling myself when confronted with all of the "It's only one little ____. it wont hurt you ....." That it will look better on their hips than on mine..."
but anyway will be thinking about you tomorrow..... best of luck you can do it...
Vickie ... wishing you a loss at your WI tomorrow...

Spring and you mother .... Great job well done..... your WI was awsome :cp:

This week I tried very hard to stay on program.... but most of all I was very careful about using all of the 8 healthy habits( except for the MILK thing) and drinking all of the water, and I made sure I got in the olive oil daily, I must admit that 2 days in a row I relised that I did not get it in so I just downed 2 tablespoons... I will not do that again so this week I am going to make sure I get it mixed in food early in the day and not wait until bedtime..... I don't like the taste straight up

we had a good meeting today.... Our leader suggested that this week we pick one thing that we need to work on In program :
1.confess what it is:
2. be honest with ourselves about it:
3. be accountable for it:
4. next week share our accomplishments:
I really thought it was a great idea........ we all basicly know the program, and how it works, so now lest just start fine tuning the little things... start small she said.
so I decided that mine will be: to get all of my milk in everyday!
I am going to be honest in my measurments.... 1 cup is one cup ... not 1/4 of a cup.... like I like to think it becomes more after I drink it.... I do not like milk in any way shape or form.....I am goig to journal my progress....and be accountable for what every I do when it comes to milk this week..... Heaven help me. because I have very good intensions I will pour 1 cup sit down to drink it and then I wind up giving it to my Darling Dog. She "Wrenn" loves it. but she don't need it .
well got to run wish everyone luck tomorrow...

Good morning! :coffee:

Just posted my bio.

Was on the scale this a.m., and was down 1lb. from last week, but WI is not until 6:30 p.m. and I ususally weigh more until evening rolls around. Guess I'll drink lots of water until lunch, then not eat or drink until WI? :(

I have problems getting the oil in also, but never had it straight., although, I must admit I have thought about it.

Good Luck to anyone having WI this morning.

Lisa

Kathy, sorry your first crack at the garlic sauce didn't go to well. I'm not cooking tonight and have my meals planned through Sunday. Maybe I'll try it as salad dressing on Saturday or Sunday. Jim and I were late bloomers on the American Idol bandwagon. We just started watching last year. I absolutely hated Fantasia and would have voted for Jennifer Hudson although LaToya was pretty good too. I liked John Stevens alot although not really for his voice. He was a good kid but we were shocked several times when he wasn't voted out. We watched a highlight tape of season 2 but it wasn't the same. I would have wanted Clay to win too. BTW, I love freecell too! Isn't it funny that we all have other stuff in common!

Deborah, I've seen Styx several times in concert since they (obviously) always come to Chicago since they are from here. I'll never see them again without Dennis DeYoung. I did see Dennis in concert alone and it was still great. I have to find out what that kids name is on American Idol so I can stop saying "that kid who couldn't talk"!

Frouf, congratulations on the treadmill at 9:30 at night. If I had waited that long I probably would have said "forget it"! Did you sleep well? Experts always say that exercise stimulates you and that you might not sleep if you exercise before bed. Just curious. Thanks for doing the bio thread. I haven't looked at it yet because I always come straight here. No one has responded yet to my message from the Forum Board.

Hang in there Lisa until your weigh in! I hope to have a loss this week but who knows.

Vickie 02-10-2005 09:50 AM

Is it Wribbenn or Wriben? Anyway! I have a couple of suggestions for you to disguise your milk. I LOVE milk but do not like skim at all. I cook my oatmeal or my Farina with 3/4 cup skim. I eat 1/2 cup SF/FF pudding (=1/2 cup milk). I also have a fruit snack just about every day with milk. I cannot stand the thought of eating a piece of fruit and drinking a glass of skim so I make smoothies. Sorry guys......I know the rest of you are probably tired of hearing this!!!! They taste pretty darn good, fill up my tummy, and make me feel like I'm getting a "fake shake". Here's a couple of ideas.

SF/FF Hot chocolate packet (Swiss Miss Diet with calcium is the best for 25 calories), 1 cup skim, 1 banana, and 2 ice cubes in blender. Yummy, frothy chocolate banana shake. You could also use 1/2 cup frozen black cherries or strawberries and skip the ice.

3/4 skim, 2 ice cubes, 1 banana for a banana shake.

1 cup skim, 1/2 cup of any kind of frozen fruit without sugar, and some Splenda for a foamy fruit shake. Doesn't need ice because of the frozen fruit. I've used black cherries, peaches, strawberries.

Hope this works for you. These usually get me happily to dinnertime.

Good morning ladies,

I have been super busy this week at work. (who isn't). Congratulations to all the wonderful losers way to go!!!!!!!!! I am also hoping for the best for those who have weigh-ins tonight.

Welcome to all the newbies!!! This is a great board with great people.

Things are going okay for me I just had a really hungry day yesterday. I'll check back later. Have a great day everyone..

Mercee 02-10-2005 09:55 AM

Vickie we were posting at the same time again. Thanks for the milk suggestions. I"m not good at getting my milk in either. I hope you have a great weigh-in tonight.

aghiowa 02-10-2005 10:13 AM

Thankfully, I love milk, any variety, and I have trouble getting too much! That's one reason Core looked so appealing to me. I hated having to count my milks on Flex.

Congratulations everyone on the good weigh-ins! I hope everyone who weighs today has a great one.

Spring, I'm doing Core with my mom too. I'm just so happy that she's decided to do something. She's lost over 14 pounds already, and joined in December. Yay! In fact, last night she went out and bought a GameCube and DDR game just so she could do DDR with me (and at her home). Dh and I built our house basically in their backyard, so we live just seconds from each other. I go over to use her treadmill, she comes to my house to play ping pong, we go walking together, and it's really nice having grandma right in the backyard for the kiddos too.

Speaking of DDR, my sister and I had a dance-off last night. It was so fun! I dance pretty much nonstop for about 1 hour 15 minutes!! It's definitely even more fun with two people. I've got to go enter that into the President's Fitness site.

I always weigh myself right before my shower in the morning, and this morning the scale said 131! Of course, for an "official" weigh-in, I'd have to add clothes and the day's weight, but still!!!

Well, it's almost time to get dd #2 (Annika) to preschool. Then dd #3 (Ainsley) and I are going to clean the master bedroom. Yippee zing. :p

Good Morning,

Glad everyone is happy w/the Bio thread - please go ahead and complete those profiles! They're really fun to read! :flow2:

My lower back is hurting a bit today - think I may have overdone with my enthusiastic treadmill work - still want to try and exercise tonight and I guess there is value in "mixing" it up a bit! No problem sleeping - I am always exhausted and never get enuf sleep and want to "damage" the clock radio when it goes off every morning (besides I didn't go to bed til midnight which was a couple hours after exercising - bad froufie!)

Had a "talk" w/my supervisor this am about my "communication style"...seems I have been interrupting her a bit in meetings and not letting her ask questions or speak her mind - bad Froufie - just want to say what I need to say - no bad intentions of course! ;) Hmm will have to stay quiet more I guess? :tape:

Good luck tonight Lisa - don't fret too much - and certainly don't starve yourself either!!! :o

Having a blackberry yogurt now (don't like the seeds!), but not feeling great - bit of a headache - I think I need more sleep/rest???

Tired Froufie

KO 02-10-2005 10:15 AM

Vickie I want to break out my blender and make those shakes! granted i need cocoa and a map to locate my blender mmm want chocolate strawberry banana! ok enough craving
I'm off to post my bio and hopefully find some motivation today

Froufy 02-10-2005 10:40 AM

Vickie - I love those shakes - they sound yummy - and while I do not currently own a blender (except one of those hand held ones) I think now is the time to BREAK DOWN and buy one - maybe a nice valentine's day present for me and dh? How romantic!!! :^: He is a real chocoholic and is trying to cut down on his chocolate consumption so this might help out (altho no diet swiss miss here - but I think I find some sf hot chocolate somewhere???).

And I am now convinced I MUST get the ddr thing - I don't care where - so I'll just bite the bullet and search on ebay and order the damn thing - now you realize when I'm broke and living in my car I won't be able to use the darn thing!!! (some of the bundles come w/two mats so I'll try to get that so I can "share" - think dd will love it!). Angela beware as I will eventually be challenging you to a "dance-off"! (see the fluffy froufie dancing!)

Hi Mercee! - nice to see you here!

time for more coffee :coffee:

later,

frouf

Vickie 02-10-2005 11:00 AM

Frouf, I think you did a GREAT job on the bio page. I just posted mine! You haven't done yours yet?

Ok, those of you who hate bad grammar are really making me nervous! Hope I don't make any glaring mistakes!

I have to go walk on the treadmill and go out to do some errands before my weigh in. I'll check in later.

Vickie 02-10-2005 11:05 AM

I don't know how it happened but our Profile now has a sticky! I guess they just went ahead and made it "sticky" without responding to my email?

Katpo 02-10-2005 11:05 AM

Vickie, I didn't try your garlic sauce yet! I put FF caesar in my deviled egg and THAT'S what was nasty!!! I am going to whirrrr up some of the garlic sauce this weekend because I have some tilapia to broil and it sounds very yummy on that!

Angela, my niece is named Ainsley too! I had never heard of another one (except the character on West Wing that they named her after).

Froufy, I hope your back feels better very soon!

Now they want me to work (AGAIN!) -- I tell you what, these people are getting on my nerves!!

aghiowa 02-10-2005 12:45 PM

Yes, Ainsley isn't a very common name, and I'm ashamed to admit, I got it from West Wing too. I feel bad stealing names from TV shows, but I really did like the name, and would have picked it anyway, had I known about it. :D

My girls all have a combination of M and A in their first and middle names, since dh is Matt and I am Angela. It's nice because it gives us guidelines when whe have to pick names, and isn't too cutesy - most people don't even notice. They are Madeline Anya, Annika Meara, and Ainsley Malena.

Froufie, I think a dance-off would be awesome! Good luck trying to find a ddr game on e-bay and dealing with the shipping nightmares. It's worth it, I think.

Time to pick up dd from preschool.

Angela

I had also emailed and asked them to make that particular thread sticky, and also to ask if this forum had a mod. They said that there was one, and told me who it was, but I've never heard of him/her. I (wrongly) assumed that a mod for a particular forum would be an active participant, but I guess they're just a third-party watcher. Oh well. I'll dig up the name and post it because that's who we're supposed to contact if we have issues or questions.
