OK I'm working 2 windows So i can see page 8 and 9 and respond!
Lisa your V-day dinner sounds nummy maybe i can do that tommorrow night! in re to Olive Oil When I make a veggie and pasta dinner ( haven't done this yet with core) I nuke veggies with garlic Olive oil and whatever spices usually italian and red pepper flakes works with Spinach Broccoli Zuchini you name it and you could either toss it with whole wheat pasta or keep it as a side dish I do it this way so you don't get the oily factor I hate oily feeling food Vickie I thought The appleberry crisp (it got named that here i couldn't remember what it was supposed to be!) could have used some splenda and cinamon to enhance the fruit flavor but its good Maybe try it with some vanilla yogurt or FF plain yogurt with SFFF vanilla pudding mix mixed in? Angela That ROCKS that you are getting a new SIL! Kathy one year when we had the fake tree at my moms it stayed up till feb 28th it looked too pretty to take down! The while you were out for your DH Sounds AWESOME Frouf Your night sounds GREAT and the dinner has me drooling I wonder if you can google the name of the fish? I hear you on the tummy trauma anything overly creamy/fatty and I'm making friends with the throne ok now me lol I tried on some of my new clothes today (Haven't gotten to the suits yet) The pants are all too big! Usually I wear 18Ws but I had the Testicle Effect as I call it where it bags at the crotchall region and even the thighs were baggy ofcourse the gut was delightfully comfy but I'm exchanging for 16's if i can find em OK the wine tasting and chocolate tasting! I only used 6 pts! I don't think I had more that 4 oz total but to be safe I allotted 3 I stayed away from the super sinful stuff and had 5 pretzels and a smattering of dip 2 choc 1 raspberry honey mustard (which followed us home somehow) Dinner We went to this place called Salsa Chatham and I was worred b/c it's texmex Luckily they had a grill entree with 2 core friendly side options YAY and i definitely got my oil in lol Tonight hopefully i'll try on the other stuff |
Greetings everyone
sounds like everyone had a great time dining out and staying OP-(or close to it)thats great... Kathy - sounds like a plan... Froufie - hope you are feeling better. Lisa-I agree with Vickie the extra virgin oil has a better lighter taste. Angela - wonderful news aboutthe new SIL ... Vickie - I am so happy you shared your milk ideas with me... it has helped tremendously... I got brave and blended sf/ff pastasio, banana, some vanilla, ff yogurt , milk , and some Ice cubes , together, the out come tastes just like spamoni ice cream. It was awsome DH thought so too. Everyone have a great valentine's day... I will be going thru a series of tests tomorrow , and having a minor procedure done ...nothing major ... I hope . need to be at the hospital at 6am so must go to bed now .... hopefully I will be back and running in a day or so.... take care wriben - :grouphug: |
Kierie, sounds like you had a ball and were very successful at staying OP. The clothes fest sounds like it is going well too! Isn't this program grand. I went down a size too but I'm shopping in my closet for the time being. I have at least one or two more sizes in my closet. I'll be supplementing with a fun new thing or two!
Wriben, hope your procedure goes well and I'm really glad to hear that your milk consumption has been a bit easier. |
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hubby and I are going out to lunch but we haven't decided where yet. He has Dr.'s appointment late this afternoon and may be getting a cortisone shot in his shoulder. He has a partial tear in his rotar cuff and arthritis. Keeps him from laying down in bed all night. He gets up and down all night and sleeps in the Lazy Boy recliner in our room.
My best Valentine's Day present would be for his shoulder not to hurt anymore. |
For that milk and pistachio dish, how much and how please?

Happy Valentine's Day To All!
Well did I mention I love pink....and hearts - this is one of my favorite days!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO EVERYONE - hope you have a wonderful day! I am wearing a pink sweater seat and grey pants/shoes (and my pearls!). DD and youngest ds made us some chocolate covered strawberries and a little bag of of rose petals and chocolate hugs (will let dh eat the chocolates!!) which was presented to us this morning. Now - let me describe what I can see from my desk at work - two boxes of VERY FANCY chocolate truffles, a box of chocolate covered cherries, a bag of red licorice, a box of hazelnut seashell chocolates, some chocolate mini-cupcakes things and a bag of kisses......yes right in my line of sight - across from my desk at the printer area!....there was even a red foil covered heart on my chair! But will I have any??? NO - BECAUSE I AM A STRONG FROUFIE :strong: No piece of chocolate or candy shall pass these lips! :tape: (in fact if one does I'm in big trouble - cuz as we all know that will lead to more and more.....and....well you know....). Congrats to Kierie - sounds like you had a great time and were so in control! Good for you! :bravo: and how nice to fit into a smaller size!!! :cp: I can't wait to go "shopping" in my cupboard! Vickie - have fun at lunch - sorry to hear about dh's shoulder problems - hope he can get some help with that pain!!! Good luck Wribben - hope all goes well - sending good vibes and hugs your way! :grouphug: I actually did some "exercises" this morning on my bedroom floor before showering (2 sets of 25 situps, about 8 pushups - such a weakling, and various legs lifts - 12 on each side).....just in case I do end up on a beach somewhere - I have about a month to "prepare" ha ha ha. We are expecting an ice storm this evening - sounds pretty nasty - will still try to drive dd to after school activity (6-8 pm) and then tap class (8:30-9:30 pm) - hope the driving doesn't get too bad!!! I am hoping somewhere in between to do some more exercise (either video or treadmill depending on my mood?). Later, Froufie:) P.S. Thought my tummy was better, but a fast dash to the washroom just moments ago proves me wrong!!!!!!! :p Dare I eat my yogurt? :o |
Hey, guys! Happy VD to you all!!!
Well, I had a brush with death last night -- I fell down the stairs! You know how I like to be dramatic, right? I am in mortal PAIN right now, all on my left side. Left hip and shoulder and neck. Yeeeeouch, I wish I hadn't done that!! I was wondering what you all would think about splitting the support board into two different threads: one for support (for weigh-ins and congratulations, etc) and another for general chat. That way we won't have to scroll thru one looking for the other, etc. Just a thought ... And until we do, I'll post my weigh-in here. Yes, I am going to give myself a Monday morning weigh-in time. I still am not going to do meetings because (1) the ones at work are on Wednesdays at noon, which is also the time when I do my mentoring at the elementary school and (2) I know what to do, and can't see paying to lose 8-10 pounds and (3) there aren't any convenient meeting places (and times) near me. Sooooo ... 150. Darn it. I drank NO water yesterday, not a drop. Did have 2 cokes though, and some Bloody Mary mix (didn't have any juice and was craving V-8) so I know I've got water and salt messing me up today. I will start RIGHT NOW slamming the water. |
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I just got finished catching up on all the news from this weekend! Congratulations to Froufie, Pink, and Kierie on your WI's!! :cp: :cp: :cp: And Kathy, I'm sorry the scale is stuck at 150 but I think you're right about salt probably being the main culprit. And it's a wonder you weren't seriously hurt ... if I remember from the pictures you posted a while ago, you have some major stairs at your house! Please be careful and take it easy! Vickie, your comment about wishing your husband would no longer be in pain was so sweet ... I know he is so thrilled to have you as his one and only Valentine! Froufie, I'm sorry you're still having tummy troubles but I'm glad you and DH enjoyed your special dinner out. And what will power to resist the chocolate! I've been eating like a fiend all weekend so get out the rolling pin. But so far, so good today! Of course, who knows what the rest of the day holds? But my intentions are good! :)
Kathy, different threads might be a good idea. I think for a while the thread was started fresh every Monday, wasn't it? At the very least that might be something to do so that it won't get so long. Or I guess even a daily general thread might work ... something similar to the daily menu thread ... and the WI thread could be a weekly one. I'm not choosy, so whatever everyone else wants works just fine for me! :) |
I like the idea of starting a fresh thread each Monday. Froufie, I am so impressed with your resolve. What a major accomplishment to stay away from those chocolates. And when you manage to do it, at the end of the day you can say that not an ounce of chocolate passed your lips on your favorite holiday - and nothing else will seem hard, right? :D
I am also resolving to stay away from any sugar for 2 weeks. Just gotta break my body from it's cravings. I did it before, I can do it again. Had a delicious clementine (little mandarin orange thing) for snack... Time to go clean house, do laundry, and dishes. Oh yes, today I took an adorable stuffed dog with a red heart balloon tied around it's tummy, a bag of Cheetos (dh's favorite) and a card to dh's work. In the card I put a few rose petals and a poem - Roses are red, violets are blue, here's a hint, of what I'll do to you... and then drew a picture of him with a blindfold on. Hee hee. He's been bugging me nonstop for clues to what we're doing this weekend. So I gave him one. OK, I really gotta go now... Angela :) |
Oh Angela - that is so cute! I bet he'll love it - and he must be going insance trying to figure out the big surprise for this weekend!
And the "sugar" thing is a very hard thing to do - but once you're off of it - I swear you will NO LONGER CRAVE IT - that is one of the reasons why I can sit here staring at all this chocolate and not want any! A miracle really! Kathy - poor you - OUCH! Definitely take it easy - hope you're not too bruised?...and I agree that all that salt can't help weigh-in - keep guzzling the h20. I myself would prefer ONE thread - and a new one every Monday morning is a great idea! I find it much easier to read and post on one main thread than have to visit several - get all the news very "efficiently"!!! (except I also do like the daily menu thread as well). Will wait and see other comments and suggestions....?? Now time to heat up my soup (but I"m having dreadful premonitions of accidentally spilling some of this TOMATO BASED soup onto my pale pink sweater - I am a disaster waiting to happen! :o )...wish me luck! Hungry Froufie |
Alrighty, one thread is fine with me too -- but I agree it would be good if we started a new one each Monday. I was just looking for a way to simplify and organize our rambling thoughts better! As if!
Does anyone ever go into the chat? I see they're organized into several "groups." I wonder what it would take to get our own little group started? It would be fun to just talk back and forth like that too! |
Good Luck today Wribben!
Vickie Have A great Lunch! Question Would DH consider Acupuncture for the Pain I have Chronic Pain (from Spasticity due to CP and Fun From Fybromyalgia) and Alt Med can be great Froufy in the Face of that Chocolate You are the FROUFY OF STEEL! I love Pink! Tonight I'm wearing a Red Twinset with kindof an animal print on it and some sparkles it sounds Heinous but it's very classy KATHY OMG are you Ok? did you hit your head? Take it easy today. Happy V-day Deborah How is the Oprahcising? Angela That's so cute! Threadwise I like one thread and maybe we can combine a WI and Menu thread? Not much goign on today I'm being lazy b/c the weather is crappy and I'm a bit sore going to spark up the coffee pot and BBL Kierie :) |
I've never gone into the chat, but it would be fun. Depends on what time it is though - I'm a little busy here with the munchkins, until after the "magic" bedtime. :)
And then, I go down to the theater room and dance my heart out. (On my ddr game, for those of you who don't know.) What category do you all think it should be on the Presidential Fitness site? I always just put it in a Dancing, General, Fast. But I wish they had an actual category for it. I've started using my arms too - I'll keep them up and punch out in the direction of the arrow, like aerobics. I figure I can use all the exercise I can get. I'm sure I look ridiculous, but it's so fun I don't care. Angela |
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. I've been kind of scarce, but I do try to pop in and at least read the threads once in a while. I had a pretty good weigh-in--just a little over half a pound down, but at least it's in the right direction. I'd been a little sick and cooped up with the kids for a couple of rainy days, and I thought I'd been doing a bit too much comfort eating.
I am pretty proud of myself for yesterday. We spent the day at my parents' and they've gotten into some really unhealthy eating habits lately--lots of take-out and processed stuff. I was able to stop myself at one hot biscuit, which are usually a trigger food for me. I also just had a small serving of the (restaurant-made) shepherd's pie and filled up on fruit instead. There was also lots of candy and a Boston cream pie, which I skipped. That was less of a challenge, though, since I don't really have much of a sweet tooth anymore. Good thing, too--my husband took pity on someone's kid selling for charity at work and came home with 20 candy bars! Of course he's the type who seems to be able to lose weight on 3 meals a day and a HUGE (think 1000 calorie) bedtime snack. Well, let him eat Reese's. I showed my parents all my WW stuff, since they had expressed an interest. My dad is diabetic and has been kind of struggling with it lately. He was off insulin for a while, but has had to go back on recently. I really hope they look into WW or at least some kind of improvements. We're putting off our V-Day celebration until next weekend, so I have some time to plan. I've been really craving some lobster, so I think it will probably involve that in some way. There's a fantastic fish market near here, so I'm looking forward to going shopping. Keep up the good work! |
Great job resisting all the yummies! You're doing wonderfully!
