Deborah--

OOOOoo. It was good tonight. Scenes from the next look excellent. I really love the woman who play's Beruz's mom. I forget her characters name. She creeps me out with her big freaky eyes. :)

It's awesome, I got one of our student workers to start watching, and now we're always talking about 24 on Tuesdays.

Morning everyone!

Yes, Spring ... it was wonderful last night! Didn't you feel so sorry for poor Edgar and his mom though? My one complaint is that I wish they had kept the show on Tuesday night. If it weren't for my DH, I'd probably forget about it. CSI Miami was good last night too!

Congratulations, Froufie, on being the proud owner of one of the dancing things! Kathy, did you decide to get one too? Angela, I hope your shin splints improve ... I can tell how much you enjoy doing your DDR activities so hopefully, you'll be able to continue.

Thanks also, Angela and Kathy, for your thoughts on the pedometer. I haven't worn it the last couple of days just because the step count seemed so inaccurate. Where would you clip it if you don't clip it on your waistband? I may look into getting a more expensive one. I have one somewhere that I got from McD's for free with the salad meal months ago ... I'm sure it would be very accurate too! ;)

As much as it kills me, I guess I better actually do some work. :) Here's a cordial invitiation for all you snowbound folks to pack up and come visit me for the next few days ... sunny and about 75 degrees here today! The Gulf of Mexico is still pretty chilly for swimming but you can bask on the beach!

Vickie 02-15-2005 08:25 AM

Deborah, my bags are packed and I'm on my way! This is the third day in a row with rain here in Chicago. I don't want to exercise and I just miss the sun. Hubby and I LOVE the Gulf of Mexico. Can't wait until I lose more weight and feel more comfortable flying again. Maybe this time next year, I'll be on a plane to Sarasota/Long Boat Key! February is when Winter just starts to get hateful in Chicago. Well.....at least I don't have to go wait for the commuter train to go Dowtown!

I often clip my pedometer to my jeans pocket, or the coin pocket. My waistbands are too loose and floppy (although the hips and thighs are plenty tight!) so I have to put the pedometer elsewhere.

Good morning! :coffee:

Deborah, I have a McDonalds pedometer and it didn't seem to work when I was doing the Walk Away the Pounds tape. :( Maybe the steps aren't big enough when you are walking in place. Found the booklet that goes with it, and says that average is 10,000 steps is equal to 5 miles. I will wear it next time I'm on the treadmill :tread:(today) and see if it is more accurate that way. Have another pedometer, don't know where it came from, but it plays music. A little annoying if you're in public. Haven't figured out how to turn that music off. :?: Must pick up DD for an appt. will check in later.

Oh...........kids decided to do a "buns" workout from the "on demand". When they were done, DS, who is 5 kept asking me if he had a J-Lo butt yet.

I tried the abs workout #1.................it's only 10 minutes, but I died after the first 2 :?: Guess I'll have to build up to that one.

Vickie, you and DH are welcome anytime. You should pack up and go watch the White Sox during their spring training since you enjoy it so much. I've never been to Sarasota or Long Boat Key ... are they down in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area or is it actually the Florida Keys? Isn't it sad that I've lived here for 17 years and don't know where those cities are? We'll trade visits some day. I've only passed through Chicago and have always wanted to visit since so many of my favorite movies are set in Chicago. I also prefer the White Sox to the Cubs but I'd like to see a ball game in Wrigley Field! :) And I guess because I live here where you have only 2 seasons (hot and warm) I really envy all of you your cold weather ... although I would probably get tired of it after a couple of months.

Angela, most of my "fat girl" ... oops, fluffy girl ;) ... pants have an elastic waist and are very stretchy so maybe that's my problem. I'll try clipping it to something. Maybe I could clip it to my ear lobe, like an earring? I wonder if that would work!

Starting Over Again 02-15-2005 09:18 AM

Lisa, I'm not even sure what I did with my McD's pedometer ... or should I say, pedometers. I had about 5 of them at one time ... can you tell I eat McD's salads a lot for lunch? :) I probably won't devote a lot of time looking for it if you think it's not very accurate also. Wow, Lisa ... you're doing great with the WATP and adding in ab workouts also. I bought this body bowflex stretchy thing at Big Lots for $15 and when I try to do the ab exercises, it KILLS me so I know where you're coming from. You'll be up to that 10 minutes in no time ... great job just for trying! :cp:

mumto2 02-15-2005 10:10 AM

I wonder if you could clip the pedometer onto your sneaker; since it is your feet that are moving...................

They do make a shoe-mounted, but these kinds we're using (like the McD's one) is just for the waist and should be lined up with the crease of your pants. Sometimes I wear mine on the little pocket too, and sometimes I turn it inward so in case it falls off, it'll fall IN and not on the floor.

Hi Ladies
So Last night was TOTALLY NONCORE and I had a Froufy Style Payback for eating things with fat in it. but it was good and at the restaurant of the hotel we got married in!
OFcourse today My I don't really drink lightweight self Has a hangover from 2 drinks
Today is detox Day Water No WPA and NO COFFEE

Katpo 02-15-2005 12:00 PM

:yikes: OH NO! We all know about the Froufy-style payback! I hope you're back to normal soon!! But glad you had a nice time!

Froufy 02-15-2005 02:35 PM

Well as the recipient of the original FROUFY STYLE PAYBACK- I can relate - hope you have a fast recovery! Poor you!

Deborah - Vickie and I will certainly be no bother at all - and we will even cook up all your favorite foods - like couscous...ha ha ha  Let us know what is a convenient time for you to pick us up at the airport! (did i mention the frozen icy roads this morning - all school buses were cancelled - and we are expecting more snow tonight!).

I went to bed TOO LATE - and am suffering for this today - very tired. Bad Froufie!

Got my T4 slip today (that's government lingo for work tax info) so I can now do my taxes - yes they're only due end of April, but as I made a big contribution to my RRSP last year (is that like a 401K or something like that?) I am expecting money back (with which to plan my trip to somewhere warm and sunny? :D  ). I know if I get this done really soon I should get my refund back rather quickly (and I would wait til April to file if I owe $$..ha ha).

Froufie:)

Vickie 02-15-2005 03:43 PM

Debora, Sarasota is in the Tampa/St. Pete area. We used to fly into the Sarasota/Bradenton Airport. Tampa would have been quite a drive. The White Sox moved their Spring Training to Arizona which really doesn't hold any appeal for us. We love looking at the Gulf of Mexico. Funny cause I can't get hubby to swim in it. He likes to be in the heated pool looking at the Gulf. I don't get it!

Starting Over Again 02-15-2005 08:27 PM

Kierie, I'm sorry you're feeling not so well today but I'm glad you had a good time last night. Hopefully, you'll be feeling raring to go again before too very long.

I think I'll scope out a different type of pedometer this weekend when I go shopping for some hand weights. Thanks for mentioning shoes, Lisa and Kathy ... it would seem pretty sensible to make a pedometer for your feet! :)

Vickie, I think the panhandle area is far prettier than Tampa but I might be a smidgen prejudiced! Of course, right now, we still haven't fully recovered from Hurricane Ivan. The Holiday Inn on the beach hasn't reopened yet and several of the restaurants have only reopened in the past few months. There IS something to be said for your husband's approach of admiring the Gulf from the swimming pool ... you don't get sand and seaweed in your bathing suit that way! Or a mouthful of salty water when a wave slaps you in the face!

Froufy, the more the merrier! But no couscous or I'll take the rolling pin after YOU!

Actually, all of you need to take a rolling pin in each hand and chase me from one end of the board to the other. I was very, very bad today. I'll spare you the gory details and will merely give you the locale of my indiscretions ... can we all say "Pizza Hut buffet" for lunch and "Wendy's" for supper? And sadly enough, no Froufie paybacks for me ... I feel just great, darn it! Well, hopefully, I can get back on track tomorrow and can overcome this feeling that I've failed.

I know most of you are watching American Idol ... enjoy the auditions! :) My daughter is thrilled because one of her favorites has made it through!

Katpo 02-15-2005 08:41 PM

Deborah, are you near Jacksonville? I'm going there within the next few months for a long weekend alone -- by MYSELF! By the pool, or the beach, or wherever ... but alone! Sigh ... I can already picture myself sleeping in a chaise and burning to a crisp!
