:hi: everyone! Happy v-day :chockiss:

Here's something I discovered this weekend - peel and chop up a sweet potato and some red potatoes. Boil until soft then mash with a bit of ff evaporated milk. :hun: Yum yum. The sweet potato makes everything a little sweet and the whole thing is fun and orange.

Cher Great JOB
Angela I can almost see you getting down with your bad self with the DDR I WANT ONE!
Laura that sounds delish!

Katpo 02-14-2005 03:42 PM

Hey, are you guys ready for this?

The cruise line just called -- the lady said I had three different reservations! I told her ... um, maybe we could cancel all but one of them??? and she just laughed. She said they figured I had experienced a problem.

Vickie 02-14-2005 04:00 PM

I go out for a little lunch and you all have a chat explosion!

Kathy, hope you're ok! You are SO lucky that you didn't break anything. Didn't you already have problem with your left leg? Wasn't it your left leg in the brace in the picture with you and JT? Hope tomorrow isn't worse for you. For me, it's usually worse the second day. Dare we ask how exactly it happened? So will you have your first Monday weigh in today or next week?

Cher, congratulations on your loss.....take them all Hon!

My lunch was delicious. I can't wait to have this concoction again. I posted it on today's menu page. You know the waitress hate to see me coming! Actually, they are all very nice and accommodating for all my special requests.

I probably actually prefer one board because I'm afraid I'll mess up and post my stuff on the wrong board anyway. I'm kind of a stream of consciousness girl. But, having said that, I'm very flexible and will go with the crowd on this!

Kierie, I don't think he could do acupuncture but we've never really talked about it. The Ortho said if the coritsone shot doesn't work, then he needs surgery. I've already said if the shot doesn't work, we are going for a second opinon and Hubby agreed.

Frouf, you are a wonder woman. Good for you for resisting all that temptation!

Sugar Free Froufie Reporting For Duty!

:dizzy: Vickie - your lunch sounds fabulous! Glad u enjoyed it - and hope hubby feels better!!! (oh and vickie I'm sure we can kinda figure out how Kathy's fall happened - you know - a little too much beer now and again? :D :dizzy: nod, nod, wink wink... ;) )

Cher - congrats on the loss - way to go...every little bit counts!! :cb: ..and I also love lobster - something for you to really look forward to!

Gee Kathy - I was hoping you were going to give those extra cruises away - you know to your VERY BEST FRIENDS on the Core Support Board??? :gift:

I LOVE THE IDEA OF A REGULAR SCHEDULED CHAT - maybe we can take a poll to see what times/days are good for everyone? I agree to "after kiddies bedtime" as a better time for me too (maybe 8:30 or 9 pm) - are we all in different time zones??? ...and we would need to choose a day or days we would be online?

...now I am proud to say that I have not yet succumbed to any chocolate :chockiss: (but as I got hungrier this afternoon it did get a bit harder - esp when I had to go to the printer to pick up docs - I had to smell wafts of chocolate covered cherries and chocolate truffles - all aimed at my nose!). Had some soy cheese :cheese: , cut up veggies and green tea to AVOID caving in. Still feeling a bit peckish and hoping to head home soon for dinner! :cbg:

Oh bratty Frouf!! No, it wasn't due to an overindulgence. DH says that's one of the main reasons I should sleep downstairs ... so I won't fall down them! (Yeah, like I fall every day!) I think I just missed a step and down I went. I just checked my hip and it is black and blue and black and blue! Not pretty!

I haven't had any chocolate either, but I did get hungry a minute ago so I ate a container of sliced strawberries, and then a few almonds. Hopefully that'll hold me until I get home. I'm stopping by Chilis or somewhere to pick up a salad, half for tonight's dinner and the other half for tomorrow's lunch.

Happy Valentine's Ladies!

Geez, Kathy, sounds like you're pretty banged up. Take it easy, would ya? :)

I vote for one thread, renewed weekly. A chat would be cool, too!

So, get this, I had to get in for my annual, and when I called 3 months ago, THIS was the day they gave me. It was either today, or I could have waited another 3 months, and would have been way overdue. So, that's what I did today.

It's okay, John took me to Applebees for dinner (it's like 2 blocks from our apt.). I was really hankering for some chocolate, so I had thier WW cake thing. 4 pts. Yummaroo.

Question: when you order off the Applebees menu, do you subtract points for the things you know are Core (fruit. chicken breast), or do you just forget it, and count the total from your WPA?

WOW! I missed a lot today. Just had leftovers - that sweet potato recipe is really good. 'fraid I might have eaten too much the last couple of days.:fr:

Kathy - hope you're feeling better. ;) I fell down the steps 5 yrs. ago when I was carrying my then, 3 mth. old DS. I guess instinct takes over and you just don't let go. I was pretty black and blue and sore too., mostly because I was holding onto DS and didn't try to catch myself.

Angela - do you know if they make anything like the DDR that hooks directly up to the T.V.? Sounds like a lot of fun.

Proud of myself for walking 2 miles today.:tread: Took about 6 hrs. to talk myself into it, but finally got the WATP tape out and did it. Also, found a pedometer that I had gotten at McDonalds last year. Opened that and tried it out. Anyone know how many steps in a mile? I think that one registered 2655 for 2 miles. Don't know how accurate it is.

Spring - I think it's easier just to count the pts. at most restaurants.

Cher - Yay for the loss! :cheer:

Oh, before I go; thread is fine for me. Let me know when and where if you decide to do the Chat.

Lisa

I think they do make DDR that plugs directly into the TV. I don't know anything else about it though, or where you'd find it. I got the one for Nintendo GameCube, because we already have a GameCube. I'll try to do some research.

On my pedometer ($3.88 at Wal-Mart), you have to enter in your stride length, so your steps per mile varies, depending. I think my stride length is 24", so I get just over 2000 steps per mile.

Angela

Starting Over Again 02-14-2005 08:51 PM

Angela, how do those pedometer things work? Mine came from Wal-Mart too and I put my stride in as 21" but I can walk from one end of my house to the other and it only registers maybe 3 steps. I wonder if my overly fat stomach keeps the pedometer from sensing my stride? :?:

Cher, great job on your loss!

Kierie, I'm ashamed to confess I still haven't been able to make myself get up 10 minutes earlier to do those weight exercises. How about you? Not to mention I still haven't gotten myself some bigger hand weights. All I have are 1 pounders ... what good will they do? :)

Froufy, you are a tower of power, girl, to resist all those chocolate temptations today! :high:

Kathy, that is too funny about the multiple cruise line reservations. I'm actually impressed by their honesty in phoning you about it ... some of these fly-by-night places would probably leap at the chance to charge you for all 3 reservations.

Spring, just about time to catch Jack in action! ;)

Big hugs to all of us for making it through Valentine's Day intact! :grouphug: :grouphug:

aghiowa 02-14-2005 09:15 PM

Hmmm Deborah... I don't know. I know on mine, any horizontal jiggle triggers a step count. Have you tried playing with it not clipped on your waistband? Mine is really sensitive. I don't think "fluff" as we call it :), would change it's operation.

Katpo 02-14-2005 09:34 PM

I have several but the one I wear most often is made by Sportline and it's called the Touchpad Pedometer 347. It has a start and stop button so when I'm sitting, or other movements that aren't steps I can turn it off. You can also toggle between miles, steps, and it doubles as a stopwatch. I got it on ebay.

Froufy 02-14-2005 09:42 PM

Speaking of e-bay - and you may note on the other thread - I am now a Bidding Froufie - and hopefully soon to be the owner of a BRAND NEW PS2 ddr Extreme game and 2 dance pads (all for $40 US!!!). For those interested in the tv only version (no game required) I saw it for $13.99 on ebay as well. Only 5 mins left to bid so far I'm the high bidder - may be giving Angela a run for her money pretty soon! :dancer:

Kathy - Love the bunny of course - very cute! Sorry to hear you are no longer pink, but black and blue instead! :fr:

..and while I had no chocolates at work I did have a chocolate covered strawberry made by dd (could not refuse her valentine's day efforts!)...and yes I think I overdid it - I did make mashed potatoes and had two servings (a childhood comfort food for sure!). But I did penance by shovelling the driveway (30 minutes) as it is snowing/raining again.....I was soaked by the time I got in!

Lisa - well done on the exercise - 2 miles is a great accomplishment! :bravo:

Well time to check ebay again!!! :jig:

Bidding Froufie:)

Katpo 02-14-2005 09:46 PM

Rots o' ruck on your auction, Frouf! We'll have a whole group of dancers before too long! I'm still talking to myself about the one Angela posted.

Froufy 02-14-2005 09:53 PM

Successful high bidder - yippee - looks like everything is okay now (paypal and cards and shipping and oh boy so many details!). I presume it will be here sometime next week??? Then I become a dancing maniac! I really hope I like it!

The major problem will be using the ps 2 and larger tv which is in family room - this means booting everyone out and not letting them watch tv so mom can dance!!! ha ha ha
