Core Figure 8
Starting a new board this morning. Lucky 7 was getting a little long. I need help! I am at that point where I have been a hundred times. I lose weight, look decent in my clothes (size 10s and 12s) and then I start wandering away from the program! I had candy at the Mardi Gras party last weekend and have been craving it ever since. Can find all kinds of justifications to go ahead and eat this--if I eat it I will stop the craving--right!--if I eat it it will be gone and I won't be tempted-hello! grocery store on the way home from work!
I need some encouragement to get over this slump and lose those last 10 lb.! I hope everyone has a good day and congrats on all those who are doing so well and welcome to all the newcomers. |
Reposting From Previous Thread!
Hi - just reposting this from Board 7 to make sure everyone has a chance to comment:
Suggestion: I have seen on other boards a "bio" thread where everyone completes information/anecdotes about oneself and was wondering if everyone here would be interested in starting one as well? I am noticing that when we have a new member we always need to "re-introduce" ourselves (not that we don't like talking about ourselves! ), but it might be fun to have a permanent "home" where we can post all our cute idiosyncracies and vital stats. If interested I can find a "prototype" and start the Coreporate introductions thread! Let me know what you think! .................................................. ....... Have an all morning meeting so I'm trying to inhale my oatmeal as I type! Will check in later! Hi Janette, Thanks for starting the new thread - I agree it was getting toooo long. Sorry to hear about your struggles but it sounds like a common problem (I think Kathy is almost at the same place you are!!!). Have you read the book "Thin for Life" - if not it might provide some inspiration for you! Later, Froufie  |
Reposted from board 7
Good morning! :coffee: Good luck Spring and Wribben with your WI. ;) I weighed myself this morning and I was the same as last week, but yesterday, I was down a pound., :( so I am waiting to WI tomorrow night. That is the last meeting of the week. Going to be really good today and drink lots of water. Had some salty soup last night. Froufy, a bio thread sounds good. Was thinking of starting a new Core thread cause this one is getting pretty long, but I couldn't think up a good name. I really need to get back OP this week. Got to starting tracking again. Slacked off for some reason and I know it will show on the scale tomorrow.Bought some of that crystal light to go. I only use 1/2 packet though, but it's a nice change. Check back later. Lisa :flow1: one for every 5lb. loss __________________ |
Hi everyone! I like the idea of a bio board. It's hard to keep track of everyone, although with us posting so actively, it's not TOO hard. :dizzy:
Last night I was supposed to pick up toys and go grocery shopping, but instead I watched the movie "Troy" in our theater room with dh. life-size Brad Pitt! And of course, do you know what I dreamed about last night? Cleaning my shower!! I had a little problem with some Milk Duds a few weeks back, and it took me a while to recover, so I know the candy curse. For Valentine's day though, I think it'll be OK. Dh and I take turns being in charge of Valentine's, and this year it's my turn. :sssh: Don't tell though, it's a surprise - I'm taking him (and me!) to the Amana Colonies (a nearby collection of small villages that were originally settled 150 years ago by Germans seeking religious freedom) Anyway! now it's basically a tourist place that sports really great restaurants. So, I'm hijacking him and we're going to spend the night at a hotel with and indoor water park, which is something we both love. We're going to eat at the best restaurant, and I'm already planning to do some off-plan eating :p But no chocolate for me. I'm excited - think we'll both have fun. Hope he doesn't read these boards! Well, better go. Got to get dd to school in an hour, and no one's even dressed yet. Angela |
Hi Janette!
Just take it one day at a time. I finally hit my 5 lb. mark and it's taken me 9 weeks. :( I started before Christmas and was at 4.8, but then Christmas cookies came and I gained 3 back. So, I have been trying to journal all my food even though I am doing CORE. I want this weight off by summer, and as slow as I'm losing it, it does get discouraging. Going to take this in 5lb. increments. Got my first 5, now working on the next 5. Go to the beach every summer with DH's family, and this year I want to be the only one without the skirted swimsuit. Would like washboard abs too, but know that will not happen. :dizzy: Anyway, exercising at least 5 days per week and still comes off slow. I do know that the weeks where I drink more water, more weight comes off. Lisa :flow1: one for every 5lb. loss |
Frouf, I LOVE the idea of a bio board! Can you make it have a sticky so that it stays at the top of the boards instead of slipping down when we don't have any posting on it for a while? BTW, I can't believe you hoped on the treadmill and did 30 minutes at 3.2 AND an icline! No starting slow for you. I bet your legs are a little tired this morning. I can only walk at 2.7, no incline, for 30 minutes. My heart rate gets a little above my range but I'm ok. Funny, though, I don't sweat much. I've just never been a sweater. I get hot and a little moist but no sweat.
Janette, I wish I had some grand words of encouragement for you. In fact, I understand completely how you feel because I know I would feel the same way if I knew I looked good. Did you see the link from the Barbos site that I posted a while back about Dr. Phil's suggestions for losing the last 20 pounds. It's more practical instructions though and to me it sounds like you are struggling with the emotional more than the practical. Here's the link again anyway, in case you didn't see it before. Maybe there is something that will spark your interest in the final push to goal. http://www.drphil.com/weightloss/wei...ction=Homework. Froufie, you know it took me 30 years to go from a GS-3 to a GM-15 and I had a little luck (and a great Mentor) along the way! Special Advisor, huh! Hope you don't get too many duties that will take time away from us! Sounds like we are all struggling a bit these last two week. I gained last week and I've had a bad attitude this week. I think it's because I did nothing bad last week to deserve the gain. I don't mind a gain when I know what I did. So this week, it has been torture to exercise and eat right. And...I do not look good in my clothes yet so I have no business having an attitude. Angela, at least was Brad Pitt in the shower? |
Boy Janette, I sure do feel your pain!! I was down 2 this morning, back to 148 (hey wait, didn't I promise to stay OFF of the scale????) ... but anyway, I know for a fact it was because of water, or a lack of, over the last few days. My body was holding on to every drop for dear life! I drank drank drank like a fiend yesterday, ate totally OP, and have made my plan for the week. If I keep myself surrounded by only the Core-legal stuff, then I am a-ok. Otherwise, I graze around and first thing I know, I'm eating candy and chips and fried chicken!
Well anyway, I did have a coke this morning on the way to work, but am compensating by drinking an extra 16 oz. of water this morning. I have also decided to quit the FitDay obsession -- stop journaling altogether for a while. If I stick to the Core list, there's no reason to know the precise breakdown of calories, fat, etc. Who cares, ya know? |
hey there everyone,
it must be in the water ... so to say...everyone struggling the last couple of weeks. I think it is the winter blahs, and boy do we have them up here! Right Frouf! :D But we will get back on track and make the most of our journey! We will do it because we deserve it. We want to look good and feel good! Let's go!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I am home from work today, headache, sore throat......just feeling yucky. did not get up until 11 and that is late late for me. And then I thought French toast sounded good ..... and I made it and ate it.......not core though, all i had was that real maple syrup so I only had 2 tbsp of it just for a taste. :dizzy: I know it was a :nono: but I had it anyway. Will probably pay on Thursday night. I love the BIO Board thread ideal! Great One! Make sure there is a pet peeve spot on it! hehehe.......I could fill up a page I think! Oh grrrrr, this must be coming from my day yesterday! I was pretty short tempered all day but really, all i wanted to say, was "you don't know everything" grrrr.......some people i tell ya.......instead, i told him to go to his room......(remember this is at work not home......and his room is his cubicle!) Way to go to the Exercisers....wow Frouf, you have inspired me today! And to everyone else getting their bodies moving up, down and all around! Makes me just to want to dance to the music. Valentine's day.....hum, I sent my daughter an ILuv you charm for her bracelet and a box of chocolates, I have the chocolates for my son and he will probably get a new ball hat......dear hubby, a nice mushy card, already gave him a watch yesterday, so maybe a supper out would be nice. Will see....maybe just a snuggle on the sofa! Cheers to all and will chat later, |
Vickie, LOL! No, unfortunately Brad Pitt was NOT in the shower. I was just scrubbing grime. How boring is that??
Angela |
Hi all-
I'm using Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent as a chance for rededication. I'm giving up excuses for Lent! |
Laura, me too. I told myself I would totally dedicate myself to doing the right thing ... including giving up the cokes and beer, staying right on plan, exercising daily ... all that jazz. So then just now I found my mind wandering, thinking "wow, you've been SO good yesterday and today, and DH isn't going to be home tonight, and it's American Idol night ... I oughta just stop on the way home and buy some beer and enjoy the evening!"
Intervention needed ASAP! |
kathy
giving up coke and beer all at once is wayyyyy to much! just give up half.....i know here you can buy the half can cokes (6 ounces) and I know there you can buy the short beers.......so there ya go i love watching the american idol.......such talent......wow! |
Greetings,
Froufy- a introduction board sounds great....I was searching for a place to introduce myself a few days ago but could not find one.... so took a chance and just jumped on the board to say hi anyway.... Spring - You mentioned that your WI is on Wed also.... was just wondering how you did... Lisa- Good luck tomorrow please keep us posted.... :cb: was just jumping for joy to day at WI..... 4.2 LBS..... honestly I was invisioning about 1, perhaps 2 at the most..... so you can just imagine how I felt when the 4.2 came up.... but I was able to stay OP very close this past week and I guess it really paid off...... got to run now and pick the grandkids up from school..... will check back in tonight have a great afternoon to all... Wriben Thank you one an all for all the expra support this week |
Way to go Wriben :bravo: You can be the inspiration for those of us who were slacking last week :o I'm weighing in tomorrow. Hoping for 1lb. I hate those .4 and .8's.
Three cheers for Wriben :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Lisa |
That's awesome, Wriben!! You ROCK!!!
I'm fighting with myself this afternoon big-time. I'll have to let you know who wins! |
awesome weigh in wriben! way to go!! Kathy I hope you win!
|
I wrote a post this morning and forgot to send it
Wribben OMG!!!! work it lady :D I added soem 1 tbsp of marinade to my lunch b/c it had 0 pts and i thought it might taste nice A just tasted salty and gross B the sugar or whatever crud is lurking in there is making me want to binge No more prepacked marinades! i've got some things to do bbl |
What a crazy busy day  - had a meeting from 9 which was supposed to end at noon - but went til 1:30 pm!!! You can bet I was starving and luckily ate that teeny tiny yogurt at arond 10:30 am even tho I wasn't super hungry.
Had a very late lunch and busy afternoon and was starving when I got home - had a big supper, but still feeling empty??? Drinking water now. I will do a bio thread, but Vickie don't think I can make it a Sticky (and I agree it should be one)...I think that can only be done by a board "moderator"....anyone know how to proceed? Wribben - WOW - I am IMPRESSED - way to go! :bravo: :bravo: :cb: :cb: I bet you feel great! Cleaning lady was here today so at least my house may? stay clean for a few hours before it is destroyed again! Speaking of which Angela - I too hoped the shower dream included Brad Pitt - but that does not seem to be the case!  Good luck Kathy - in your battle (with those aliens who are trying to take over your body) - I'm sure you will win! Be strong! :strong: Going to drive ds to meeting - but I already have my exercise duds on and hope to use the treadmill later this evening! Frouf  |
Laura/Kathy, I LOVE the rededication idea. I told my Niece today that I feel as though I've completely lost my motivation. I'm sure it was the gain from last week when I wasn't bad that made me start feeling this way. I've been reasonably good this week so I hope I'll be ok. I'm kind of paranoid about gaining again for no darn good reason. Oh Well. Can't think like that. I just need to buck up! I'm back to cooking and planning meals which should help.
Froufie, good thing you had the yogurt. I always have my toughest time when I let myself get too hungry. Then I eat too fast and never feel full. Wriben, you had an incredible week! You must have been doing a happy dance in your chair through the whole meeting! I've never lost that much. You should be very proud of yourself. Did you do anything special/different this week that might help the rest of us struggling girlies? |
Frannie, I'm sorry you're sick and I hope you get well real soon. Scary but it sounds like you are just coming down with whatever you have.
I sent an email to the Forum Moderator to ask how we go about adding a "sticky" to our new bio board. I also asked about getting new Moderators since the 3 Folks listed don't participate here any more. The only one I recognized was Spryng and she went back to Flex a long time ago. I'll see what kind of response I get. If they ask for volunteers for Moderators, are any of you interested? I don't know what is involved. |
Way to go Wribben! That's awesome. I was down 1.2 this week! Yay. I had been doing SBD since October, and was getting lacksidasical, and stalling out, so anything over .5 makes me happy as all get out. BTW, my Mom lost 6.6!! WooT!
Deborah--EVERYTHING about Kiefer is sexy. heh. You wanna know something funny? When Jack said two eps ago about calling "the only one he can trust" I yelled.."Call ALMEDA!" DH laughed at me...until that's exactly who showed up! 24 is the cat's pajamas. I LOVE the idea of a bio board. I bet if we message the moderator(s), they will make a sticky for us. I'm having a good day today. I hope the rest of you have an awesome evening. I have to go eat dinner (the cauliflower/pea pod mix i made must have sat in the freezer too long..it looks SAD. all wilty.) Then I have to do a short writing for English. So, it's off for me! One question though: I was looking at the food companion (Mom bought it), and does anyone know WHY Market Day Chicken is not Core? They're just frozen chic breasts as far as I know. Heck, they even look leaner than the bags I used to buy. Not like it matters. I intend to eat them anyway. I have a freezer full. :) --Spring |
I just found this on Barbos Diet Kitchen. I love garlic and was getting very tired of plain FF sour cream on baked potatoes. This could also be a good salad dressing I think. I'll be tryin it out soon.
Garlicky Sour Cream Topping 3 medium cloves garlic 1 cup non-fat sour cream 2 tbsp. reduced fat mayonnaise{fat free for CORE} 1 tbsp. minced fresh parsley Place the garlic in a food processor bowl, pulse to mince. Add the sour cream, mayo & parsley. Process for one minute or until smooth. Yield: 1 cup Per 1/4 cup serving: 91 calories, 2.5 grams total fat, 0.1 grams fiber, 2 Pts. Serve over baked or boiled potatoes, steamed vegetables or fish. |
Congratulations, Spring to you and your Mom. Man your Mom must be one happy lady tonight.
Gotta go watch American Idol! I'm really liking the young kid who couldn't talk for years. I love Styx and he reminds me of Dennis DeYoung! |
I would step up for a Mod -- of course they would have to send me to Mod school! Not really, I had my own shopping site/forum a few years ago and have been a mod/admin on several more.
Vickie, I would eat that "sauce" on practically everything! It sounds GREAT! Like how about even adding some of it to the yolks of eggs when making deviled eggs!!! Or as a base (or ingredient) for a soup? It would end up a creamy type soup but would be all core ingredients! You know, like adding diced chicken and tomatoes, etc. to it? Now my head is spinning with ideas!! Spring, I think that possibly the reason that chicken you named isn't core is because some of them are flash-frozen, and have added solutions. Don't know, just a guess? |
Oh Vickie! Me too! I have been an Idol fan since season 1 and have barely missed one. I'm also part of the crowd who thinks Clay should have won in 2, and that in 3, John Stevens (Howdy Doody) shouldn't have even been in the top 12, Jennifer Hudson was cut too soon and LaToya London was waaaaay better than any of them all ... and that even *I* should have won before Fantasia. I disliked her voice and style from the beginning but oh well!
Congrats Spring and Spring's Mom on the awesome weigh-ins!! You guys are doing great!!! |
Way to go, Spring, Wribben, and Spring's mom! :cp: :cp: :cp: I know y'all are thrilled with your losses this week. Vickie, I hope your WI goes well tomorrow ... maybe you'll get the loss you should have gotten last week plus a few more for good measure. Here's hoping! Frannie, hope you are feeling better and have a good WI also! Lisa, I'm thinking light thoughts for you too on your WI tomorrow.
Kathy, enjoy your lunch time festivities tomorrow. Maybe you can just nibble at the unhealthy things and eat plenty of the onions and meat ... you'll want plenty of breath mints around, right? :D And what self-control you have for not sampling the fried chicken and mashed potatoes you made for DD! I know she really appreciated that good meal! Vickie, I'm a big Styx fan myself ... or at least I used to be until they kicked poor Dennis out. And Kathy, I'm right there with you about Fantasia ... I never could stand her voice. That being said, I only listen to the show while my DD and DH glue themselves to the set. I get so aggravated about the folks who get passed through and those who get rejected that it wouldn't do for my to watch it on a regular basis! :) Froufie, what a hectic day you had and you still intend to exercise when you get home? You put me to shame! But that's wonderful. I took the day off from exercise today. DD was sick and had to pick her up from school. She slept the afternoon away and I couldn't resist a nap myself ... heavenly! :) It's a good thing I'm not a lady of leisure, as I'd probably sleep my life away! Angela, your Valentine's Day plans sound out of this world. I'll bet your husband will fully enjoy every minute! Have lots of fun! Janette, I think we all go through times of struggling and sometimes it seems that there is no justice. We work so hard and just don't get the results we deserve and then, one thing leads to another. I envy you in that I surely wish I only had 10 pounds to go but I know those 10 pounds seem as hard for you as these 125 are to me! Try focusing on one thing at a time until they all fall into place ... we know you can do it! Kierie, sorry that marinade sparked some major cravings today. It's tough when everything is on track and then something pops up and throws you a curve ball. I'm glad you got the exercise card things. I still haven't started doing them yet. On Monday ... cross my heart! :) Made a couple of new dishes tonight with pumpkin (not one of my favorites but you really couldn't taste it) ... both turned out really well, I thought. I'll go post the recipes over on the daily menu thread, if anyone is interested. Got to get laundry folded before CSI New York comes on ... can you tell I'm a big CSI fan? I watch them all! |
Congrats going out to Spring and Mother of Spring for the excellent weigh-ins! :hat: :balloons: You're doing great and should be very proud of yourselves!
Frannie - ohmygoodness - I would DIE for some french toast...and real maple syrup - glad you were able to treat yourself while you're sick - hope you get better soon! :flow1: While I'm not a big TV watcher I do like it ocassionally and usually just end up watching what the kids are addicted to (like 24, CSI, OC).....love American Idol as a "treadmill" show - speaking of which I did make it back home around 9:30 pm after chauffeuring ds around (with a stop at Starbucks! :coffee: ) and literally juimped onto that treadmill for 30 mins (1.5 mi, 2% incline, 200 cals) - while my legs are not sore, I am feeling my "hips" a bit more than usual - and my lower back? hmmmm...maybe should do some different exercise tomorrow night instead of treadmill? Only just finishing my 2nd 18 oz bottle of water - not a good water day! Angela - your valentine's day "surprise" is safe w/us! :gossip: We won't tell a soul! :blah: Betting your hubby will love it! Vickie - love that garlic stuff - let me know how it tastes! and sending good vibes your way for tomorrow's weigh in.... :goodvibes Kathy - good luck w/lunch tomorrow - just pick and choose carefully! I know it's hard to avoid work related food events! We have a birthday lunch at least once a month and this morning someone had the NERVE to bring in a box of doughnuts and the usual "food display" area is literally right across from my desk at the communal printer - so I have to look at the stuff all day and get close when picking up my printing! Don't worry I was strong - and I knew that only ONE BITE would be the end of me! :tape: Look for a new bio thread - coming soon to a theatre near you (and hopefully we can get info on how to make it a "sticky") Froufie :smug: |
Frouf, I'm looking forward to that bio thread! It will help us so much -- CORE is still such a small group but still we should have a common place for that so we're not introducing ourselves every few days!
I sure do know what you mean about the food at work! Good grief, we are always doing something and most people like it so it's not going away anytime soon, but they just don't understand when I try to resist. I get so tired of hearing "oh go ahead, one little ____ won't hurt you!" But those _____'s add up!!! (As we well know!) I already made my deviled egg but I'm afraid it's a case of "good food gone bad!" I smooshed up the yolk and went to get out my FF Miracle Whip -- then remembered I had used it all up last week with the tuna salad! Uh-oh! I looked around and saw some FF Thousand Island and FF Caesar. Went for the Caesar, squirted a little on the yolks and mixed it all up. Thank GOD I tasted it before I assembled the whole thing because it tasted like @#$%&!!! Yes, I said @#$%&! So I just put the teeniest bit on the white halves, and hope that by tomorrow it'll be okay. Guess I'd better go buy some more FF mayo, huh? I also made a little dish of corn to take and have my banana ready to go. Strawberries are already at work, cut up in a container in the fridge, and the Maltomeal is in my drawer. Well hopefully when it's lunchtime I won't be starving, but I'll heat my corn, get out some cucumbers, add sliced beef, onions, pickles, etc. and maybe that'll fill me up until dinnertime. If not, I'll just eat a Twinkie and have a coke. Okay, not really. Off to bed! I'm taking my hand-held Freecell game upstairs to the Coke room ... no, I didn't give it up because I'm afraid it's a medical condition. I tried to sleep downstairs with DH and kept waking up HOT in the middle of the night. I take hormone pills and shouldn't be having hot flashes, etc. Well, DH finally told me not to worry about it, and go ahead and go upstairs. I guess I feel a little better since he gave his blessing. TTFN!! (Ta-ta for now!) |
Sorry to hear about the mayo disaster Kathy - thank goodness you had a lick first!
For those who have been waiting w/bated breath - the bio thread is up! Before we start "using" it - please have a look at it and let me know if there is anything we would like to add or delete. I can then edit the "original" post and we can start filling in the blanks! Kathy - I presume if you can be the moderator you will be able to "delete" posts as required??? (and make stickies too!) Thanks for your anticipated cooperation :):) Froufie:) |
No no no, it's perfect! I already started!
|
greetings everyone,
Kathy - I wish you lots of willpower tomorrow...and remember .... we are always going to be tested with temptations .... "Don't bit the apple". I just keep telling myself when confronted with all of the "It's only one little ____. it wont hurt you ....." That it will look better on their hips than on mine..." but anyway will be thinking about you tomorrow..... best of luck you can do it... Vickie ... wishing you a loss at your WI tomorrow... Spring and you mother .... Great job well done..... your WI was awsome :cp: This week I tried very hard to stay on program.... but most of all I was very careful about using all of the 8 healthy habits( except for the MILK thing) and drinking all of the water, and I made sure I got in the olive oil daily, I must admit that 2 days in a row I relised that I did not get it in so I just downed 2 tablespoons... I will not do that again so this week I am going to make sure I get it mixed in food early in the day and not wait until bedtime..... I don't like the taste straight up  we had a good meeting today.... Our leader suggested that this week we pick one thing that we need to work on In program : 1.confess what it is: 2. be honest with ourselves about it: 3. be accountable for it: 4. next week share our accomplishments: I really thought it was a great idea........ we all basicly know the program, and how it works, so now lest just start fine tuning the little things... start small she said. so I decided that mine will be: to get all of my milk in everyday! I am going to be honest in my measurments.... 1 cup is one cup ... not 1/4 of a cup.... like I like to think it becomes more after I drink it.... I do not like milk in any way shape or form.....I am goig to journal my progress....and be accountable for what every I do when it comes to milk this week..... Heaven help me. because I have very good intensions I will pour 1 cup sit down to drink it and then I wind up giving it to my Darling Dog. She "Wrenn" loves it. but she don't need it . well got to run wish everyone luck tomorrow... wriben |
Good morning! :coffee:
Just posted my bio. Was on the scale this a.m., and was down 1lb. from last week, but WI is not until 6:30 p.m. and I ususally weigh more until evening rolls around. Guess I'll drink lots of water until lunch, then not eat or drink until WI? :( I have problems getting the oil in also, but never had it straight., although, I must admit I have thought about it. Good Luck to anyone having WI this morning. Lisa :flow1: one for every 5lb. loss |
Kathy, sorry your first crack at the garlic sauce didn't go to well. I'm not cooking tonight and have my meals planned through Sunday. Maybe I'll try it as salad dressing on Saturday or Sunday. Jim and I were late bloomers on the American Idol bandwagon. We just started watching last year. I absolutely hated Fantasia and would have voted for Jennifer Hudson although LaToya was pretty good too. I liked John Stevens alot although not really for his voice. He was a good kid but we were shocked several times when he wasn't voted out. We watched a highlight tape of season 2 but it wasn't the same. I would have wanted Clay to win too. BTW, I love freecell too! Isn't it funny that we all have other stuff in common!
Deborah, I've seen Styx several times in concert since they (obviously) always come to Chicago since they are from here. I'll never see them again without Dennis DeYoung. I did see Dennis in concert alone and it was still great. I have to find out what that kids name is on American Idol so I can stop saying "that kid who couldn't talk"! Frouf, congratulations on the treadmill at 9:30 at night. If I had waited that long I probably would have said "forget it"! Did you sleep well? Experts always say that exercise stimulates you and that you might not sleep if you exercise before bed. Just curious. Thanks for doing the bio thread. I haven't looked at it yet because I always come straight here. No one has responded yet to my message from the Forum Board. Hang in there Lisa until your weigh in! I hope to have a loss this week but who knows. |
Is it Wribbenn or Wriben? Anyway! I have a couple of suggestions for you to disguise your milk. I LOVE milk but do not like skim at all. I cook my oatmeal or my Farina with 3/4 cup skim. I eat 1/2 cup SF/FF pudding (=1/2 cup milk). I also have a fruit snack just about every day with milk. I cannot stand the thought of eating a piece of fruit and drinking a glass of skim so I make smoothies. Sorry guys......I know the rest of you are probably tired of hearing this!!!! They taste pretty darn good, fill up my tummy, and make me feel like I'm getting a "fake shake". Here's a couple of ideas.
SF/FF Hot chocolate packet (Swiss Miss Diet with calcium is the best for 25 calories), 1 cup skim, 1 banana, and 2 ice cubes in blender. Yummy, frothy chocolate banana shake. You could also use 1/2 cup frozen black cherries or strawberries and skip the ice. 3/4 skim, 2 ice cubes, 1 banana for a banana shake. 1 cup skim, 1/2 cup of any kind of frozen fruit without sugar, and some Splenda for a foamy fruit shake. Doesn't need ice because of the frozen fruit. I've used black cherries, peaches, strawberries. Hope this works for you. These usually get me happily to dinnertime. |
Good morning ladies,
I have been super busy this week at work. (who isn't). Congratulations to all the wonderful losers way to go!!!!!!!!! I am also hoping for the best for those who have weigh-ins tonight. Welcome to all the newbies!!! This is a great board with great people. Things are going okay for me I just had a really hungry day yesterday. I'll check back later. Have a great day everyone.. |
Vickie we were posting at the same time again. Thanks for the milk suggestions. I"m not good at getting my milk in either. I hope you have a great weigh-in tonight.

Thankfully, I love milk, any variety, and I have trouble getting too much! That's one reason Core looked so appealing to me. I hated having to count my milks on Flex.
Congratulations everyone on the good weigh-ins! I hope everyone who weighs today has a great one. Spring, I'm doing Core with my mom too. I'm just so happy that she's decided to do something. She's lost over 14 pounds already, and joined in December. Yay! In fact, last night she went out and bought a GameCube and DDR game just so she could do DDR with me (and at her home). Dh and I built our house basically in their backyard, so we live just seconds from each other. I go over to use her treadmill, she comes to my house to play ping pong, we go walking together, and it's really nice having grandma right in the backyard for the kiddos too. Speaking of DDR, my sister and I had a dance-off last night. It was so fun! I dance pretty much nonstop for about 1 hour 15 minutes!! It's definitely even more fun with two people. I've got to go enter that into the President's Fitness site. I always weigh myself right before my shower in the morning, and this morning the scale said 131! Of course, for an "official" weigh-in, I'd have to add clothes and the day's weight, but still!!! Well, it's almost time to get dd #2 (Annika) to preschool. Then dd #3 (Ainsley) and I are going to clean the master bedroom. Yippee zing. :p Angela |
Good Morning,
Glad everyone is happy w/the Bio thread - please go ahead and complete those profiles! They're really fun to read! :flow2: My lower back is hurting a bit today - think I may have overdone with my enthusiastic treadmill work - still want to try and exercise tonight and I guess there is value in "mixing" it up a bit! No problem sleeping - I am always exhausted and never get enuf sleep and want to "damage" the clock radio when it goes off every morning (besides I didn't go to bed til midnight which was a couple hours after exercising - bad froufie!) Had a "talk" w/my supervisor this am about my "communication style"...seems I have been interrupting her a bit in meetings and not letting her ask questions or speak her mind - bad Froufie - just want to say what I need to say - no bad intentions of course! ;) Hmm will have to stay quiet more I guess? :tape: Good luck tonight Lisa - don't fret too much - and certainly don't starve yourself either!!! :o Having a blackberry yogurt now (don't like the seeds!), but not feeling great - bit of a headache - I think I need more sleep/rest??? Tired Froufie |
Vickie I want to break out my blender and make those shakes! granted i need cocoa and a map to locate my blender mmm want chocolate strawberry banana! ok enough craving
I'm off to post my bio and hopefully find some motivation today |
Vickie - I love those shakes - they sound yummy - and while I do not currently own a blender (except one of those hand held ones) I think now is the time to BREAK DOWN and buy one - maybe a nice valentine's day present for me and dh? How romantic!!! :^: He is a real chocoholic and is trying to cut down on his chocolate consumption so this might help out (altho no diet swiss miss here - but I think I find some sf hot chocolate somewhere???).
And I am now convinced I MUST get the ddr thing - I don't care where - so I'll just bite the bullet and search on ebay and order the damn thing - now you realize when I'm broke and living in my car I won't be able to use the darn thing!!! (some of the bundles come w/two mats so I'll try to get that so I can "share" - think dd will love it!). Angela beware as I will eventually be challenging you to a "dance-off"! (see the fluffy froufie dancing!) Hi Mercee! - nice to see you here! time for more coffee :coffee: later, frouf |
