Ems, thank you for updating me on your health. I apologize if I missed when you posted it last week. Things have been sort of hectic lately and I could have missed seeing it.
Maryann, sounds like you're doing well. Sorry about you aches, though.
Well, friends, I came home from school yesterday and went to bed about 7:00 pm. I was exhaused. This morning I noticed I had not taken my heart or arthritis meds yesterday. That could have been part of the problem. 30+ kids per class added to the stress. I'm not doing any subbing this month as we are shooting USA Indoor Nationals the last weekend of Feb. I need the time to rest and train. Today's to be a girls' day out!!!!! We're planning to do lunch then TWO MOVIES!!!! I'm pumped!
Ems, I meant to congratulate you on losing 2.5 lbs. That's awesome!
Good luck Sandra for the competition Are you in the American team? If so, it too early to ask if you will be over here in 2012 for the Olympics?
Morning one and all. I have been up all night and not by choice either. A lady in our road, fiercely independent and nearer 90 than 80 fell downstairs late yesterday evening. Our houses are old, the stairs are dreadfully steep and how she didn't kill herself I don't know. She rang us, when we got there and thank goodness, we have a key, there was blood everywhere. She had a nasty cut on her head and head wounds always bleed like there's no tomorrow. We got her to hospital and because of her age, they kept her in for observation for a few days. By the time we got home and cleaned up the blood it wasn't worth going to bed. We are visiting her later today, but this morning we are organising a rota of neighbours who will pop in and see she's OK through the next few days when she comes home.
Nothing new going on either, except I going to clean out the basement a bit. I have several of bins of clothes that I was holding on to,thinking I would ever fit into them, but I woke up to reality and going to pack them up and give to the big brothers & sisters organization. The clothes that fit last year are in a dresser in the upstairs bedroom.
So I have my work cut up for me,this weekend. To cold to go outside our temps dropped from the 50's to the 30's over night.
Oh I got on the scale at W-I and I went up + .5 don't think it was the carbs but the calorie range I was using this month going back to my original that I used in January where I lost 9 lbs.
SANDRA-Thanks,I agree you should take time off and do the thing your love.Good luck in the competition. What movies are you going to see??? There is nothing good playing in our theaters so this week we are in a by.
JOJO-God bless you for be such good neighbors. That must be awe to fall a flight of stairs. Hope is going to be ok. That a BIG WORRY to me, now that I alone, that the reason I'm staying on the main floor. and only go down stair to do the wash once a week. When I go down there I take my cell phone with me just in case.
VICKIE-HI have a great day,and don't worry you'll get back on track again.
JoJo, you are an amazing neighbor. I know you and Mark will be missed when you move, but how lucky your new neighbors will be!
I am not on the American Archery Team at all, but thank you for asking. When I shoot my recurve or compound bow, I am competing against women in my age group. We don't have to compete against the US World Team, but we do get to shoot with them sometimes. I have been extremely blessed getting to shoot on the same target butt with 2 of the best compound shooters in the world. And I have to tell you--when you're shooting with folks like that, your own scores improve. When I shot with them is when I won Champion of the Americas back in 2005. One of them (Reo Wilde) just won 1st place at the World Archery Competition in Las Vegas. He won $25,000 + whatever bonus his sponsors gave him. I don't win $$$$$. The tournaments I compete in award trophies, plaques, medals, or bowls, but I'm still having a blast. (And I could watch those pro's forever!)
Maryann, we saw "Just Go With It" and "Unknown." We really enjoyed both. Kudos to you for downsizing. I've been doing that, too.
I have an NSV. The gentlemen who is up here from Houston this weekend (one of Curtis' archery students and friends) said to me when he first saw me, "You look smaller than last time I saw you." I'll take that any day.
Vickie, have you checked out the new P+ SF program? I did and decided I like the old CORE better. I have several friends around here doing old CORE. I'm doing P+ but have had a couple of high point days. Today--so far so good.
Sloan, I had extremely rowdy classes Thursday. That's the main reason I decided not to sub any more before Nationals next weekend. I came home completely exhausted and went to bed a little after 7 pm Thurs night. I had been warned by several teachers about these classes. Not all the students were ill-behaved, but enough were that I won't sub for their classes any more. Life's too short.
Rhonda, where are you, Cuz? Are you all right? I miss you.
Ems, to you, too, my friend.
Well, ladies, Sam is here working with Curtis. I made them a chicken salad and I'm heading into town to watch our youngest grand play basketball. It's a gorgeous day today--and I'm OP! Life is good.
Hi Ladies, Its been a busy week. I've been reading and keeping up but no real time to post. I hope you are all doing well.
Jojo, your a wonderful neighbor! She's lucky to have you.
Sandra, good luck in your tournaments coming up. Should be a fun month or so.
Vicke, sorry you've got another storm. I think we're out of the horrible pattern in the north east. The snow is actually starting to melt and I can see some of my lawn -- not a lot but I'll take what scraps God throws at me
Had a nice night out last night. DD was at a sleepover and is now at a birthday party. I pick her up at 3. We went out for a nice dinner and drinks. Now today I'm off to go shopping and get some things together for DDs bday slumber party next weekend. I'm doing OK on plan, still working out 3 times a week. I did figure out that for activity points the rule of thumb if you track calories burned is 80=1. So my 1 hour work outs have been giving me 10 points -- I burn a bit over 800 calories.
Off to do some laundry then off shopping. Enjoy your day everyone!
We are almost finished with our 3rd round of chemo..
they classify it different because they call the first induction and then 1 & 2 , but its # 3 to us...
A few days ago the Dr said we may be in the hospital another 2 weeks but the Dr on call today told us he thinks we could go home by Monday or Tuesday !!!
I am trying a week of very low carb to see if that works for some of the pounds I have gained.. Protein shake, eggs , veggies, lean meats , lowfat cheese, nuts.
Then I may compare the weight loss with a week of counting calories..
Paula, how old will DD be next week? Seems like just the other day we were taking her to kindergarten. I am amazed at your 10 pts for an hour workout. You're an exercising diva for sure.
Rhonda, I was wondering where you were. Sounds like you've been having fun. Your trainer is right. With the amount of energy you're expending, you need the calories. And 1500 isn't a lot.
Nancy, on coming home early and also for being in control of your program. You're an inspiration.
Sandra, I don't blame you. Life IS too short. I have one class that I imagine would be rowdy for a sub. I will be out for three days for a state conference for our student organization Feb 28-Mar 2, and I will have to threaten them before I leave. I'm sorry you had a tough day, but I'm glad you have the option to refuse to sub for that class again.
Jojo, you are an awesome neighbor, and it sounds like you live in a very close neighborhood. I love the stories you have told about how supportive of each other you all are. I hope your neighbor is okay. How are you?
Nancy, sounds like Robin is doing well. I'm so glad for you both. I'm still praying for y'all!
Rhonda, as usual, you are an inspiration. Hang in there!
Maryann, I love the feeling of getting the junk cleaned out. Sounds like you are really busy getting that done! Don't work too hard!!!
Paula, you are inspiring me! What is your total lost?
Ems, how are you feeling?
Vickie, I'm thinking good thoughts for an early spring for you, Jim, and Brodie
