Paula, part of being older is NOT snapping back from illness, injury or insult to the body. I'm sure you know that, but it's very hard to watch your parents suffer.
Today is a day of celebration. One of my students gets her PhD this afternoon. There is a big lunch at the department for all of our graduates. I'll be there and at the convocation ceremony. I love "dress up" at the university. June is a month of celebrations: hard to follow core!!
Hi all. Our internet is down, but I'm check email elsewhere. Just wanted to let you all know we are still fine. We currently have power and water, but are cautioned to use water very sparingly. Guess we'll all get a bit ripe before this is over.
Don't know when I'll be able to check in next, but know that we're fine.
Thank you all for thinking of us. We're home. Curtis got a good report. No stent. He'll be treated medically. Life is good. Now we can breathe a sigh of relief.
On a funny note--at the hospital (in Ft. Worth about 30 miles from where we live), I knew and was related to over half the people in the waiting room. It's a small world.
Rhonda, it makes me smile thinking of you going to dressy functions. Enjoy yourself.
Angela, thank you for letting us know how you're doing.
GREAT NEWS! You give Curtis a big old Midwestern Girlie hug from me. What does treat medically mean? Just medicine I hope! I had to come see that all was well.
Sandra, so glad Curtis can be treated with medication. What a releif. God does answer prayers!!
Good news on my Dad - they finally got him out of bed today. Wasn't for long but he got up - and he cooperated. It was a good day for him today. As long as he moves forward, I'm ok with tiny baby steps.
Angela how are things going? The news reports keep getting worse. keeping you all in my thoughts.
Well, going to read the paper and get dd to bed. Have a good night!
Paula-great news. Baby steps are good!
Vicki-sorry to hear about your ac. I hope you can get it fixed before you melt!
Sandra-one down, one to go! Is your brother still in good spirits? My friend's husband was so happy when he got his kidney. It was awesome!
Angela-hope you are still dry.
Rhonda-how was the celebration? Hope you had a good time.
Tracie and Niki-sounds like you are doing great with the challenge.
I've been back on core today, and tomorrow I'll be getting ready for camp. I really feel bad about the challenge because I've only exercised once. I am excited that my friend and I will be walking at camp. Maybe that will get me motivated for exercising more.
hey ...remember me lol
I need to catch up on everyone's post but I am glad to be back.
We had a great week at the beach.... now for the catch up back at home of
laundry ,errands ect.
I didn't stick to the diet exactly while I was gone, but I tried to eat fruit and
make good choices when we went out. The scales show a pound
gain but I also ate salty yesterday so I am hoping water is part of that.
I am not going to worry about it..just get back on track now.
I may start drinking protein shakes for lunch and see if that helps.
