Oh, I like the 3 new receipes in a week. Also, what about no non-core food 5 days this week? Let me know which you all prefer.....
Its another hot one here -- Sorry Noussa. I can't help but complain, I could never live in SA, I couldn't deal with the south here in the US. One good thing about New England, we don't get intense weather for any long period of time. Either in the winter or summer, we get a week at most of really hot or really cold. But never much longer. Tonight we should get bad thunderstorms and the long range forcast is 70s to low 80s and dryer.
Sloanie and Tracie, the mexican core n bread is great and it does freeze really well. That is one of the recipes I've made a few times, very similar to the tamalie pie. Great reheated, topped with ff sour cream and salsa.
I need to find a new crock pot recipe for today. I got my new simple and delicious magazine today and there is a greek chicken recipe that looked good. I need to see if I have all the stuff needed. If so, I'm putting that on later this morning.
Today I need to take dd to gymnastics then drop her off at a friends to play at 11. That will give me until 2! I need to stop at a drug store to get my dad some polident and I need new sunglasses. I had one pair, dd dropped them and then stepped on them. Oh well.
Dad is doing well, they moved the feeding tube to his tummy yesterday, it went well. I saw him last night and he was in good spirits. We should find out today what rehab he is moving to and when, they are talking tomorrow. When I left he was sitting up in his bed, put in his teeth (thats why he needs to polident) and he had his glasses on. Looked like dad! It was good to see. Also, siince the tube is moved, he is no longer restained. Now the big question is what caused all of this. They are thinking a stroke - there is one type that shows only in the inability to swallow.
Vickie, sorry you are feeling ill. I hope you get better soon. I just got over a cold myself. Seems colds this time of year linger so much longer than in the winter.
Well, off to shower and get breakfast. BBL. OH, wi today!
Tracie-when your knee is hurting, what kind of activity do you do? I know that at the nursing home where I take my students, they do wheel chair exercises that do not involve the legs. Maybe you could google something like that. It probably would make you feel good to know you were getting some kind of activity. Also, upper body weight training gets the heart rate up.
Guys, if Tracie can't get into the activity challenge, we need to make it core related. Lets see what she says.
I found out my good friend is going to camp, too. Guess what? She is also losing weight and will be taking her own food. I am happy about that so I won't feel like such an "odd ball". I have frozen some of the core'n bread to take for a couple of meals, and I'm still working on my list of other foods. Oh yea, my friend and I plan to walk every morning at camp.
I can't believe it! I finally got some exercise! I walked to the mailbox. It is about 1/2 mile and has a very steep incline. Now, if I would just do that more often, I just might beat Nancy to 130.
Hi ladies, I use to post a while back and disappeared for a while. I am back on core since mid march and have lost 23lbs, I would love to start posting again and start chatting with you ladies. Looks like everone is doing great!
Hi Niki, Welcome back!! and Congratulations on the great loss.
Well, went to wi, stayed the same. I'm OK with that. I'm so bloated from the humidity, I'm not surprised I did not lose. I can barely get my rings off and I've been drinking tons. The heat here is supposed to break tonight. Thank goodness!
Made a new recipe for dinner tonight - I'll post it. Greek Chicken. Its made in the crockpot and its very good. DH liked it too. It was in mylatest Simple and Delicious with recipes to not heat up your kitche. I also made the core cheesecake. It came out great! I could eat the whole thing in one sitting -- very easily. I know someone posted that theirs was not thick, the one I made was. Very close to real cheese cake.
Well, dd is in the tub and Im winding down. Dad got moved to rehab today - the one we wanted. So things are progressing -- slowly, but moving forward. Now that he'll be getting therapy, I can only pray he improves enough to get home soon.
Welcome Niki. Congrats on your loss.
Paula-glad to hear the good news about your dad. I'll pray that he can go home soon. Also, that Greek chicken sounds good. Can't wait to see the recipe.
Made the grape salad again. I really like it, but my family seems to like it better than I do. I can hardly get it made, and they are digging in!
BBL got chores to do
I could definitely use the strictly Core for 5 days challenge. I'm drifting too much and too often! And I could add 15 minutes of moving for three days. Any other ideas?
Noussa, I have tried the chondroitin with glucosamine, the problem is one of them is to help repair cartlidge, which I don't have any. When I found that out I quit taking it and I didn't seem to see a difference as when I was taking it. But thanks for the advice. I am always up for advice
Sloanie, I do water aerobics and ride my bike, and also I have some weights and decided I could do some upper body workouts to firm up my flabby arms. I also have a workout tape that focuses on different parts of the body, and you can pick and choose what you want to work out. I haven't done the video in awhile so I can't exactly remember what it's all about, but I could probably start doing parts of it.
So any challenge is fine with me. Recipes, food, exercising, whatever you girls want to do. back Niki! We'd love to have you join our little group. The more the merrier. Good going on the weight loss. Isn't core wonderful?!
Paula, great news about your dad. Prayers do work! Is the cheesecake recipe in the desserts recipe section? Sound really good.
I guess I will have to try and make the grape salad. I just had a ww 1 point fudgesicle. It is so good for only one point. And so big!
Rhonda, I like the idea of exercising 3X a week. I'm game.
Vickie, I'm sorry you've been sick. I hope you're feeling better. So far we've dodged the virus that's going around. My son and granddaughters have had it recently so I'm guessing we'll have it soon if we're going to catch it.
Thank you all for posting about the core n bread recipe. We love it.
I make it often.
Sloan, I'm glad you have a weightloss partner for camp. That'll bea huge help for both of you.
I like the "pure core for 5 days" challenge.
Okay, when do we start? Or have we already started?
Nikki, home, Chickie. And congratulations on doing so well.
Hey Paula-have you decided on the challenge? It sounds like we're all ready to start.
Vickie-
Do any of you chicks have a favorite chocolate recipe? I've been craving chocolate and sometimes SF/FF pudding doesn't always do the trick. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Sometimes I make a smoothie from a banana, skim milk, ice, and a packet of SF/FF cocoa. That satisfies my chocolate craving and gets in a milk and a fruit serving.
