Welcome Home Sandra! I'll need to catch up later too. I just got home from lunch and errands. Basically, it's been non-stop since I left for WW at 9:30 this morning. Whew! I'm pooped. I'm off to lay on the couch for a while and then Jim will go and fetch us dinner.
Hey...I bought a bunch of Yankee Candles today. They aren't normally my favorite but they are having a huge sale, buy one get one free, in the store and online. The shipping online is only $6 for any order under $100. I had to go to the store so I could smell them all. There's always a candle burning in my house.
Talk to you later. I've got 6 eight ounce glasses of water in but I need to drink more.
Hi everyone
I am so shocked. The WW scale said I lost 1 lb tonight. I cant believe it. My scales said I was up 3. Usually mine and WW are about a pound different. So hope the scales are right. But I dont feel like I lost though. My hands and feet feel swelled. Well I know they are. Cause I cant get my ring off. And my shoes felt tight.
OH well. I will take it.
I need to drink more water. Have been drinking some. But not as much as I should.
I hope everyone has had a great day.
VICKIE CONGRATS ON THE LOSS!!!!
Thinking of all of you.
Night
coco
coco, congrats on the weightloss. you and vickie are rocking!!
i just got home from i have incentive now to get some lbs off in the next 2 weeks cuz of the family reunions coming up end of the month. i'm soooo excited to see the grands. just talked with them on the phone. it'll be good to see them in person.
rhonda, donna's trying to e you. did you get her e?
Good going, Coco! What a pleasant surprise you had!!
Well, I got home from work and went straight to the kitchen. I made the second set of brownies with peppermint patties inside (smells good!) ... and then for dinner we had grilled chicken, LO brown rice, and steamed vegetables. I made zucchini, carrots, orange bell pepper, onion and garlic sauteed in Turkish curry, cumin and coriander, and olive oil. A friend just got back from a two week trip to Europe and brought me back a big set of foreign spices. It was really, really good! Cleaned up the kitchen, did two loads of laundry and now I'm sitting down for a minute. The only remaining chore is to fold and put away the laundry and make lunches for tomorrow.
I hope everybody had a restful evening! I tell you what, these 15 hour days are making me old!
Vickie and Coco...Im so impressed! Its so hard to get back on track and you two are doing it! Great job this week! And Vickie I noticed you walked....keep it up and keep on telling me! I love to hear it. I didnt get to walk tonight but I did get in AP with all the gardening Ive been doing..the pond is in and Ive been putting little gardens around it. Lifting turf and hauling black earth is a good exercise..so is flapping your arms to keep the black flies away..haha.
The weather has turned again and its warming up. Im not a walker in warm weather so tomorrow morning Im dragging out my WATP dvd and doing it while the house is cool. The nights its cooler I will still walk. I meet regular walkers every night..and they have been asking me how many miles Ive put in so far..I should have kept track.
I ate OP today but didn't get much exercise. I did about an hour of gardening, including pulling up some huge weeds in neighbor's yard. I ought to get some AP for that effort!
Have a good night all.
Rhonda
ps: Sandra, no emails from anyone, and glad you're home.
Sandra, welcome home! How was the tournament? Missed talking to you. The family reunion will be a great motivator to stay on track.
Rhonda, You may be surprised at the activity points for gardening. I ended up with about 7 for 3 1/2 hours of yard work on Sunday - got two large beds weeded and mulched.
Coco, congrats on the loss! The fact it was a surprise is even better.
Well, today is going to be a somewhat sunny/cloudy day. Possible showers but it should get around 80 - just beautiful. Need to go to the candy store this morning to get teacher gifts - Sarah's class mom's pitched in to get platters done for the two teachers. Each kid did a thumb print with their name. They'll be given to them tomorrow. I need small gifts for the early drop off teachers and then next week something for her gymnastics teacher. Then its off to gymnastics at 11 then at 2:00 I drop her off at a friends for a playdate. The two hours she is there I'm weeding another bed. I think its the last one, but Jim wants to dig up another one where he has a hard time mowing. It will work out because I have peonies in a bad spot - not enough sun and they don't grow well any more. So, I can move those after they bloom.
Food wise I am still on track -- since Wednesday I have earned 19 activity points and only used 13 weekly points. I'm happy with that. WI is tomorrow, it best be good -- I think I should be down 3 or so, per my bathroom scale. I feel like its my first week on program all over again, I'm hoping for that first week "drop". We'll see. If its not that great I'm still sticking to what I'm doing. Sooner or later it has to come off, right?
Thanks, everyone! It was more exciting than you can believe to lose this week. It really helps get my butt on the treadmill. As soon as I finish posting, I'm off to eat breakfast and then walk.
Sandra, reunions can be incredibly motivating!
Coco, what a GREAT surprise! Congratulations . Now use this as your motivation to stay on track for next week. That's what I'm trying to do; string some small losses together. I'd be thrilled with an average of one pound a week. How about you?
Ok Kathy....you are making me drool! Two of my favorite things went into your brownies.....peanut butter cups and peppermint patties. I love the WW mints. I don't know if I've ever eaten coriander. I must try it again. I never used to like curry either but I'm willing to try that again too.
Patti, I really admire you for doing all that gardening. I could not haul myself around so I'm waiting until I lose. I used to like digging in the dirt. I'd love to see pictures of your new expanded pond. I don't like to walk in the heat either which is why my treadmill is in the middle of my living room.
Rhonda, you SHOULD get extra points for weeding some one else's yard! Staying on program is a huge part of the battle. Congratulations. First program, then exercise. I wish I liked it more than I do.
Paula, I'm so excited for you. I'm sure you are going to have a huge loss this week. Enjoy your alone time. It's beautiful weather here too.
BTW, did you all see that WW has a new snack cake flavor? Caramel...yum yum. I can't wait to try it.
Ok girlies, I'm off of here. Jim is on the treadmill now with his IPOD on and he's singing at the top of his lungs. He and I primarily like different music. He's singing a song right now that I've never heard of. Pretty funny. He's 6 years older than me and likes 60's music. I'm a 70's and 80's girl. We agree on very few groups!
Love the pics Vickie - just can't believe how BIG the yards are - we are on a postage size lot compared to that - I could never manage landscaping that big a yard!
Congrats Vickie and Coco on the losses - you are inspiring the rest of us - keep up the good work.
Sandra - welcome back - we missed you - can't wait to see the article and pics!
Kathy - those veggies and spices sound delish - bet they smelled great too while they were cooking!
Out for dinner last night for ds' 21st birthday - yes dh turned up with a sour face (dd was late getting home and he almost left without her) - she of course gave him a hard time so he showed up in one of his 'moods' and I told him he better not 'spoil' this outing as he does all other family events - geesh!
Unfortunately ate everything on my plate (it was so tasty) then a piece of cake when we got home - then to top it all off - some 'emtional eating' I'm sure - cuz I sure wasn't hungry - probably just upset cuz of dh? So today trying to eat lightly as I am going out for dinner w/gf (she just became a grandma a few weeks ago so I'm sure I'll see lots of baby pics!) - going to a fish restaurant and will try to make good choices!
House is a pigsty - need to tidy up as the cleaning lady is coming tomorrow!
hey, chickies. we went to cracker barrel today after the interview. i really liked the reporter and photographer. i tried to get the photographer to make me look 50 lbs lighter but i don't think she was able. i can't tell you how many times i heard her camera click a photo. i didn't even have time to suck my tummy in. oh, well. life goes on.
kathy, those peppermint brownies sound sinful. you naughty girl, you. seriously, i know you didn't eat them. i'm proud of you. what kinds of spices did you get? some that are different or are they just mainly stronger than local brands?
patti, i'd love to see your pond. please post photos. mine is looking like a jungle now. i think i'll go take another photo in a bit and post it. i was on my knees about an hour this am pulling weeds from the front bed. i still have weeding to do in the others but that was the worst one. (thank goodness)
rhonda, i think weed pulling is good exercise. i may have to do that instead of tonight. curtis is needing the jeep and the ford is hooked up to the trailer for our escape thursday after ww. i'm wheelless.
paula, , girl. you're doing awesomely well. that's a lot of activity pts to earn in one week. you, rock, girl!! the tournament was a lot of fun. and-- i shot well. this was the first tournament in 07 that i came home feeling good about my shooting. life is good.
vickie, i'm picturing jim singing along. i'll bet i know the music he's listening to. where can we get that caramel cake? at ww or at walmart or ???? i think i need a piece.
omg, vickie!! those are amazing photos. okay, i may not take photos of my front porch waterfall and post it here afterall. it's a baby pond compared to that one. it was good to see your home, too. i wish we could all see where each other lives. maybe in pm's?????
frouf. i feel so sad that your family events work out to be so uncomfortable. i can relate. some of ours are, too. i would have done some emotional eating, too. done so many times.
guess i'd best go and get something done. the yard men will be here to mow shortly. when they leave i'll be rear up in the flower bed pulling weeds again. now i need to haul some clothes, etc..... out to the travel trailer.
Holy cow Vickie,,,how did you get a picture of my dream yard??? I see some huge Koi in there as well..amazing. Can you see if from your house?? If I lived there I'd be a pain in the butt ..checking out their yard all the time..haha
I need some batteries for my camera and then Im taking pictures...
