Hubby and I had a date night on Saturday...Old Chicago, 1 beach sunset and drink and then at the movies I had popcorn and soda. So Today I am restarting into Phase 1. I am actually shocked how "yucky" I felt after eating that food...but I actually enjoy the Phase 1 and II style of eating. Now if only I could stop craving chocolate....I hate PMS.

Had a really good weekend, didn't start exercising though. Will have to start today. I have really been waiting until I got through detox, because I am really weak. and I have a tendancy to get sick when I lower my calories extremely and start working out. But I plan to start tonight. Day 8 for me. Got on the scales again yesterday and was 7.5 down. Pretty good for me. I haven't had too many troubles. Had a cover dish after church and had salad and for dessert I brought a huge bowl of fruit. Everyone loved and it and I took care of myself, didn't cheat at all. Other than the caffeine free diet pepsi I had...but I am not stressing about that. I must admit I like not feeling hungry and it has really helped me examine the fact that I eat for pleasure and out of boredom, two really bad habits that I am trying to break. It is all about discipline....I personally think it is much more than 50% mental...LOL. Everyone have a great week. Tried the oatmeal cookie receipe, wasn't horrible, but since oatmeal cookies are my favorite it wasn't that good either....sorry.

Hey,

Dh and I are on day 7. I got a call from the grocery store down the road from us today. It seems that when dh went there over the weekend he asked for tofu and they didn't even carry it! (SMALL TOWN) Anyway, they called this morning to let us know that they had ordered some for him and it had come in this morning. I think that is so funny. Before this detox... dh wouldn't even think of eating tofu. But, now he is requesting that the store order it for him. lol.

Jen, Pam and Chicks~ Glad you all had a good weekend.

Hey all, well I had a decent weekend. But yes I did cheat in two ways. I am so so lame. but I was so scared because I have been feeling so bloated and my clothes actually were feeling tighter on Sat. morn. So yes I got on the scale. I just couldnt help myself/ The good news is that I have lost 4 pounds. and today I finally feel this loss my bloating is gone hopefully for good. Today is day 8 for me so I am going to continue with this phase one for a while longer.
OH what was my other cheat you ask? Well yes over the weekend I had a small thing of meat and a couple glasses of wine. There I said it now I feel better. Back on track today and will keep on with phase one.
hope everyone is doing well.

Default 1st day for me

But I am so happy to find a program that works with my vegetarian leanings. Only my 1st day, but thanks so much for pointing me to this one! I don't want the Biggest Loser, so would have missed it.

The rice seems like a treat!

Am on Day 7 and it is going well. I did sneak and check my weight on the morning of day 4 and was only down 1.5 pounds. Which is fine. I had cut alcohol, most sugar, caffine, red meat and a lot of junk food earlier this year so the main thing I am changing is taking out bread, chicken and fish. I wish it was more but I think I can identify where I can improve and if I don't lose much more when I weigh in on Friday I know this is why - I am still eating 3 normal meals a day instead of 5 small meals(need to plan better and set a timer on my watch to be sure to stop and eat) I am walking 3 miles a day, but I think I need to work out at a higher intensity. And I know I am not drinking enough water. I am kind of preparing myself to be okay if I haven't lost what others have because I am not following all the rules as I should. But tomorrow is a new day and I plan to work out hard and set my watch! Weigh in is on Friday for me. I wish I hadn't cheated and checked my weight last Friday, but it's done now!

happy smashing!

Olivia~ I know it is hard to eat every 3 or 4 hours. I had trouble with it at first. But, I figured out that I was eating too much during B, L, and D. That didn't leave much room for snacks. Now, I manage to eat 5 meals a day. It has helped me to lose more. You can always repeat phase one if you want to. I think dh and I are going to go longer than 9 days. Neither one of us have cheated... but we feel so good eating the foods that we are eating. I think we are gonna make it 15 instead of 9 days.

Good luck,
Sherry

Hi everyone we are doing great. We've been really good and haven't cheated at all. We were very excited on Saturday when we took one of those blood pressure tests at Target. We both have the best blood pressure we've had in years. It is encouraging to see that not only are we losing weight but we are making ourselves healthier. Good luck to everyone.

Hi everyone! Today will be a challenge to drink enough. They have the water shut off here at the office due to some renovations, so I'm having to go to the potty at the store down the street! I'm rationing my visits, if I can!

Hey everyone. I haven't posted in a while...last week was a blur: DD's birthday, first day of preschool, we bought a new car AND DH was home all week on vacation. Then this weekend, I got sick and was in bed for 3 days! Yesterday was my first day of eating in 3 days and I did really well.
I'm back on the plan (mostly phase 1 with meat at dinner). I'm still off Diet Coke (22 days), but I now have added 2 cups of decaf coffee (1 in the morning and one at night). The night time coffee helps me from eating!

Hello Smashers!! I am going to start Phase 1 on Sunday. I was wondering though, for those who were regular coffee drinkers before - has anyone continued to drink coffee? If so, have you still lost weight in Phase 1?

I just don't see the point in going through a caffeine withdrawal for 9 days (I would take the whole 9 days to get back to normal - last time I quite drinking coffee I had headaches for 2 weeks) and then be able to drink it again in Phase 2. I can totally cut out my diet sodas and everything else.

CH4Health, I went without coffee for two days before I started phase one hoping the headache would be gone by the time I went back to work on Monday, but they weren't, I have been allowing myself one cup when I get to work. Usually have it between 9-930. That is it, no other caffeine and I have been fine. I am on day 9 today and have lost 8 pounds, so it obviously didn't affect the weight loss. But I am actually thinking of keeping up this routine. I used to get up and have two cups then fill up a big mug (2 cups) and finish by the time I got to work, then drink another 2 or 3 throughout the day. Iheard 1 cup can actually be healthy for you. I will probably buy decaf for home, I actually went Sat and Sun without any at all and didn't have a headache. Plus I am noticing I sleep so much better. I can't wait to add some food tomorrow...

Default Mind if I join the Party?

I really appreciate all the information I've gained from you folks regarding the Fat Smash Diet, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Day One, Phase one for me. I'm a real "plane jane" eater to begin with, so I've decided I'm going to make this work! With most diet plans, I can pretty much talk myself out of making a diet work even before I start them, but with this, it looks "do-able" to me. As another poster commented, most of the questions I had when I read the book have been answered by others, so you guys have made this pretty easy on me. I appreciate that! Pop, coffee, meat -- not going to be an issue. For me, I'm just scared to get on the scale. Why? TOM today. I just hate that. I know, I know. Just do it and get it over with. If I muster up the courage, I might tomorrow... We'll see how tight my rings feel (my personal gauge of how bloated I am!). As a former WW'er, I liked the accountability, but frankly got sick of the meetings, the fake "cheerleading" routines from the goofy leader, and the fact that it wasn't fun for me anymore. So, mind if I join the party?
