Default Calorie Counters for July/August

Tinky ~ If I maintained on the weekends I would be happy. I am going to try my best to be good this weekend while traveling and not let DH convince me to be bad. Panic can have the opposite affect on our goal so try to stay calm. When I panic I head for the one thing I shouldn’t and that is bad food. I am just SOOOO happy to see the program working so well for you and it really has helped motivate me. I tried to speed walk yesterday but today my hip is killing me so I guess that is still out of the question for me. I will walk just not speed walk.

Still ~ Doctors really are willing to help larger breasted woman get reductions paid for because its so hard on our backs. I know of two women that the insurance paid for it all. It is uncomfortable but neither had regrets. Well the one did, she regained her weight and guess what came back with a vengeance. They warn that when they reduce something surgically that if you regain, it comes back and usually then some.

Tammy ~ Sorry we can’t meet up but hope you have a wonderful trip. It is amazing what the mind can do to the body and I hope he changes his way of thinking. Did you lose inches? I don’t trust machines to tell me how much body fat I have. LOL! I have a scale that tells me how much I have and I love it when I lose weight and the body fat percent goes up.

Diva ~ Good going! I just never have the energy to go to the gym. I work out at home and walk for my exercise.

Irish ~ Why did you run away again. Come back and play with us.

Well I am up a ½ lb from the weekend today. I will get it right back up and it still means that I lost 4 lbs last week. That is nothing to complain about. Hopefully I can have a repeat performance this week, during the week that is, and get back to where I was. Still eating my fish and egg whites for my snacks and breakfast. I may even have shrimp for dinner tonight or a nice tuna steak. I am going to the store for some more frozen fish and will look for a tuna steak, really like those.

I was POP yesterday despite taking ODD/GS and then YDD/BF to McDonalds. Twice I resisted the temptation of ordering and then the smell. Nope, not even one bit or tea.

Tonight when I get out of work I am going to buy my pony a pair of flip flops. LOL! I am going to put his foot on it and out line it and then cut them so that I can duck tape them on the bottom of his feet and see if that helps him with the rocks on the road. The lady that trims his feet wants to put pads and shoes on but its expensive and hard on his feet. Flip flops are like pads and I can duck tape them on so he doesn't have to have the nails pounded into his feet. I was walking down the road this morning and had flip flops on when it came to me that I should try this. I will just buy a cheap pair and if it works it will save me about $150. Its worth a shot. I can probably get two sets off one pair because his feet are small.

Well I better get going for now and talk to you all later.

I really want to stay on track with this thread since it seems its the most active and I NEED support lol I just get so confused because I forget screen names etc.

Anyways I had a fight with the scale this morning. I stepped on twice and it said 198.5, so I called DH in and it went to 201.5 *sigh* I was told on another forum to zero the scale out before stepping on it and I did... it went back to 198.5 *phew* lol

I can't wait to get to know y'all a little better

I registered for the Miami Marathon this morning which is on January 25, 09. It takes me about 600 miles of running to train for one race. I think I'll see the weight come off.

I went and had my body fat measured today (21%) I'm almost where I was in January 2007. Grrrrr...... But I'm in better shape than I was in December 2006. *smile*

GrammyL- LOL I am more happy that you're back on the program than I am doing it. LOL! I am hoping to see it go down to 160 maybe 159 by the time I leave but we'll see. I was POP yesterday, not really on Sunday, so we'll see. I am dreading the trip down to CA though. I will be out of my comfort zone eating wise and left to temptation. I know I will be gaining a bit, that is a given. I wore the wrong bra to do some speed walking and the girls were boucing everywhere. I had on my new convertible bra and was just wanting to break it in, but LOL...I was having a hard time.

Diva- Wow, you rock! Training for a marathon is pretty intense. But I know you can do it. You have been good at setting goals and getting to them.

DM- Congrats on getting to ONDERLAND!!!!! YAY! You are just doing fantastically! Please keep us posted and don't shy away from us! LOL!

Irish- LOL do GrammyL and I need to come hunting for you??

Flipflops- On a horse...that sounds so cute. I don't know why but it does.

MCDonald's- I have a hard time resisting their fries. I don't know why they're so darn good. GOod thing the boys don't eat that stuff around me. LOL !

Dawn, that's fabulous!

Just as skinnyb said, it's the reduction in belly fat that you can't miss!

What the heck are you so bummed about the scale for? Tell you what... paste those photos on the little window on the scale before you step on.

Thanks girls I guess I can't really tell because I see myself everyday, so seeing those pics made me feel so good. The only other thing that I have that tells me I'm losing is the scale, so I depend on it lol

Diva ~ Wow, that is a lot of training but sounds like your motivated and it will help you to lose the weight.

Dawn ~ What a difference the weight loss has made for you. Welcome to the group and continued success.

Tinky ~ I will try to lead the way with the two days I am going to be out of town this week. The fries are my down fall also and I am amazed I resisted them. I have yet to meet french fries I won't eat. I take that back we have one place here in town that I refuse to eat theirs, they are soggy. YUCKO! We are headed to a place that grows lots of fruit which is great but I need a protein to go with it. I am thinking about buying some Boar's Head low sodium slivered meat. This stuff is really tasty, no artificial stuff and lower in sodium. Still high for my plan, 350 mg for a 2 oz serving but better than any fast food joints food. They also have a slivered top round that is only 70 mg per 2 oz serving and I believe it was 80 calories. The only problem is finding a store that carries it and its a little pricey but that is because its healthier. DH always tells me to stop being cheap. I may suggest a sandwich for lunch and I can have sodium free rice cakes with 2 oz of that slivered beef and a salad. HMMMMM!

Enough talk about food, I need to go for another walk. I try to take 3 short walks during the day.

Grammy, I'm like you with the weekends. With the rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception, I thought I did ok, but then I wrote things down when I got home. Ouch! I should have done measurements when I started these classes back in April. I know that my clothes are fitting better or are too big, so I'm sure there have been some inches lost. I think I'll measure in the morning, and see what happens between now and when the current classes end in August. I love the pony flip flop idea! It makes sense!!

Dawn, I liked what you said about fighting with the scale. I have wanted to toss mine across the room many times. WOW to the change in the pictures!
My scales haven't changed at all, but all of my clothes are fitting better. I can't depend on the scales to keep me motivated or I'd be sunk.

Diva, well I won't be doing a marathon, but I will be walking in the local Relay for Life (cancer) in a couple of weeks.

Tinky, whenever we do go to McD, I usually get a salad. If anyone has fries, I'll eat a few to satisfy my "need".

Today I have done great on the food and water.

Total calories yesterday were 1191 with 31% coming from fat. Went to the gym, worked back and biceps. Total deficit based on a metabolic rate of 1334 was 394 calories.

Running for an hour and then having lunch with my girlfriend today (chicken cesar salad for me).

Have a good day!

Good morning! How did everybody do yesterday? I got to 1136 calories and I felt full all day. I have been eating veggies for lunch and fruit for breakfast, its so hard to get my calories in when I'm constantly eating fruits and veggies lol I posted this on the board but I am having HUGE hair loss issues, I'm balding and its scaring me! Anybody have any ideas?

Good job so far on the weight loss, this is so exciting for me!

I made it to this thread.....woohooo..lol

Tinky-Keep it up your doing great! My Dh loves McD's French Fries also!

Tammy-I need to get my water intake back up...I am glad your doing good!

Grammy-You have GOT to send a picture of your pony flip flops!!!! I have to see this.

DMN-You can really see the difference, your doing GREAT!

Skinny- Your coming right along...wow...keep up the great work!!!

Well on to me..lol I had my 2 week follow up appointment after my surgery. They took out the stitches and a pin that was stuck through my little toe (that HURT). They gave me a splint and a walking boot. I can not walk on it for a month still, but at least I can take this boot off and on as needed. He said everything looks good and to come back in a month and then I should be able to put weight on my foot gradually after that appointment. So by the end of August I should be getting around just like before. My poor leg already looks scrawny and pathetic. My son loved watching them pull the pin out and take out the stitches. My big toe looks good where they fixed the bunion, I am impressed. Now if the swelling would just go down so I can move my foot again. We got to go to Mt. Rushmore since my DR is in Rapid City SD. We drove down there before my appointment and checked it out. It was only 20 minutes away from my DR office so I said we may as well go since we had the time and we were right there. It was cool!
I got on the scale this morning and I am at 162! I didnt lose anything but I didnt gain, which is good since I havnt counted a calorie since before surgery! I am being careful though.
