Well didn't get a chance to go and get Peek his new flip flops. LOL! I plan on actually just using the soles cut to his feet size and duck taping them on. I had lots of running to do last night and a little present was added to that. I was given a miniature horse last night. My boss that breeds horses is going to pick him up for me. My DD and I went to look at him last night and what a doll. I tried to irritate him as much as possible by touching him all over, laying my top of my body over his back, messing with his feet, playing with his ears, rubbing my hand under his mouth, smacking him on the butt, rubbing his belly and privates and all he did was stand there and look at me and he wasn't even tied up. So I know he doesn't bit or kick but he is kind of worried about strangers but after a few kiss, which he likes and petting he was fine with us. He needs some major cleaning up. Poor guy has only been groomed twice this year and his mane is matted, all bitten up by bugs and he has been scratching his butt on something because both sides of his tail at the top is stubbles while the rest is so long it drags on the ground about 4 inches behind him. He was also in with two mean mares that beat him up so I was amazed he would let me do all this to him with them there. I will do picks as soon as I can. He was a cart pony at one time but the current owner hasn't used him at all so he will probably need refresher courses and I am going to get him a saddle so my GS can learn to ride, hopefully the mini is OK with that. As you can tell I am excited.

AH! It is so much easier to stick with the plan when your weight is just melting off. I lost the 1/2 lb I gained and I am back at 179 but that is it but I am going to march on. I have some hormonal factors going on, day 8 of TOM and it usually is only 4. For some reason eating the egg whites and fish still isn't bothering me so I am going to continue eating them but I think I am turning into a swimming chicken or a clucking fish. LOL!

Tinky ~ Want to be turned off by fast food just sit outside the building down wind a little ways. The smell of the grease is overwhelming and nasty. Just do the best you can, we still have to live life and can't let what we can eat determine what we can do.

Still ~ I love the area of South Dakota. DH and I said that if we ever were to move out of state that is where we would move. We went there for vacation several years back.

Dawn ~ You may want to talk to your doctor. There are lots of things that could cause it but you are lacking something in you diet. I know people on Atkins lose their hair and people on high carbohydrate diets can lose their hair.

Well I better go for now and I will talk to you all later.

Hey all. I don't know how much I will be able to post today, but I will try.
Today I have lots to do before we leave tomorrow, both work and at home.
LOL, like I was saying on another board, I am kinda dreading the trip to CA, I don't want to undo a lot of the work I put it. This morning I hopped on the scale and saw 160. LOL I made my personal goal to be 160 before I leave for my trip. I am going to try my darnest to eat well and eat little portions.

Tammy- I love their salads too, but I have a weakness for their fries and nuggets. (yeah don't know why either)! LOL~ I have had a couple of bites of their fries when the boys come home with it, and two or three makes me happy.

Diva- Yumm...chicken caesar salads are so good!! I love them too. I love most salads.

Still- Glad that you got a good report at the Dr. As fast as June went by, I know August will be quicker than we know it. Pretty soon you will be back on your feet! That is so cool that you got to see Mt. Rushmore. That is one of the monuments that I have always wanted to see.

GrammyL- I will have to give the Boar's Head a whirl. I always see it at the market and wondered if it was good, but it must be since everyone here at work recommends it greatly.

Still, I just read your post about getting in more water, so I got up and got a glass of water! Thanks for the inspiration!! Glad to hear the appointment went well. Isn't Mt. Rushmore cool? We were there last summer.

Grammy, love the picture!!

Tinky, good going on hitting 160 before you leave.

I went to the doctor today and voiced my concerns about not losing anything since I started all of the exercising and calorie counting in April. He told me to stick with it because sometimes when you start exercising like this and haven't been, you are building muscles and things are changing with your body. I do know that!! AND he told me not to even think about lowering my calories below 1600. he said for my size, age, and the activity that I am getting in, that is plenty low enough and I will start seeing changes on the scales if I stick with it. He is having me get some bloodwork done next week, and he is checking my thyroid. This was my first time at this doctor, and I really liked him. I have been to his office with my husband several times, and he did mention that he could tell that I have been exercising!!

These are all my boys. Well the little paint is DD's but more or less mine since she is gone all the time. Someone has to give him kisses every morning.

Total calories for yesterday were 1379 with 29% coming from fat. Going to my husband's company picnic today. That should be interesting. I don't eat hot dogs, potato salad, white bread, or most of the stuff you see at these events. We're having shrimp kabobs for dinner with rice and pigeon peas. It'll be worth the wait!

Have a good day, folks!

Grammy, they are beautiful!!!!

Most of you know that my hubby has been ill. Last night he wasn't feeling well, and he started vomiting blood. He did that back in Sept. when he first had problems. I called the rescue, and they took him to a local hospital. He was then transferred to a large hospital about an hour from here. That's where his liver specialists are. Our son and I are headed there soon. I think it is going to be a long day.

Tammy ~ OH MY GOSH! That is absolutely horrifying. Your DH is in my prayers and so are you and your family. I just wish I could be there to give you a big hug.

Still ~ I really adore horses, have every since I was old enough to walk but never got my first horse until 14 years ago. Then about 4 years ago I got into driving pony's. My big guy Smoke had to be put down this spring and that will probably be my full size horse, had him 14 years. I feel in love with the little guys and probably will never own a full size horse again. I find driving much more relaxing than ridding and it doesn't bother my hip. The little guys I have also seem like they are much easier to handle and when they do something stupid it doesn't hurt nearly as much. Most of my aches and pains in life come for injuries from dealing with horses but can't help what you love.

Well I am off and I will talk to you all on Monday if I can't get back on sooner. I have to take DD to the doctor and then I am all over getting Mr. Pibbs cleaned up.

Have a good, safe and fun 4th!

We just got home from the hospital. He is still in ICU. His vital signs have been good. They did a scope down his throat to see where the bleeding is coming from, and they didn't find anything. More bloodwork. His hemoglobin is low, and he might be getting a transfusion tonight or tomorrow. He has been cutting up with the nurses, so that is a good sign. He's still a stinker!!

Bob and the nurses told us to come home and get some sleep since we didn't get much last night. I will be hitting the pillow very soon.

Hello Ladies!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. We've moved everything to CA and it's in storage while we stay with family. DH does have a job though! He was offered a tenure track position at the University of New Mexico. So next month we move again, to Albuquerque. We would have moved straight to NM, but we already had everything set to move to CA before we found out. We found out less then a week before packing up the truck.

I'm not sure, but I think I've gained a bit. I don't have access to a scale, but some of my clothes are a bit snug. I'm relying on other people (family) for food until we move, so I'm trying really hard to watch my portions. I'm going to help with the cooking as much as possible and I have good breakfast stuff that we brought with us.

Honestly, I'm shocked that I didn't stress eat today. I got a haircut that I'm not happy with. I asked for long bangs (as in chin length) and got short ones (mid nose.) Add into the equation that I have curly hair and ugh, it just looks stupid. I may be wearing headbands for awhile. Right before my birthday too. Oh well...

GrammyL-What beautiful boys you have! Mr. Pibbs is just adorable!

Tinky-How's the wedding planning going?

Tammy-Your DH is in my prayers. I hope they find the problem and fix it!

Diva-I hear you about picnics! They never have anything that I eat either, except maybe fruit.

Was today the day for bad hair cuts. I took Bella to the groomer. When it isn't this hot I will keep her in a full length coat or there abouts. I thought I would put it in a long " puppy " cut about 3 to 4 inches for the hot weather. I picked her up and the poor thing doesn't even have an inch of hair. I thought only men thought 1 inches was 3 or 4 inches lol.

Still
So glad things are going well. I think it is terrific you didn't gain. Being layed up makes it real easy to pack on the pounds, you are doing wonderful.

Tammy
I am so sorry about your hubby. Will keep both of you in my prayers.

Been a busy day going to head off to bed. It is ONLY 1:47 am and I have to be up by 7 lol.
