A trifle bit higher on the calories then I'd like right now, but I had no control over dinner. The only thing at dinner that I was willing to eat was a pasta salad with vegetables in it. The only thing else to eat was steak and I don't eat beef.

Tammy- Talk about whatever you like. We're here for you!

Tinky- I used to like Old Navy, but not since they've revamped their designs. It's all a little too "young" for me. Everything is too short and the fabric is too thin for my taste. I know this sounds weird, but at 31 I'm in this strange fashion limbo. I'm too "mature" for what the early-20-somethings wear, but I'm too "young" for a lot of the other clothing options out there. So help me, I think I might cry for joy if I can ever find a white button up that doesn't gap at the buttons.

Anyway, I should go and accomplish something today.
  • Hi Shy,

Intellectually I understand exactly what you're saying, and I appreciate that you understand what I'm saying, too.

I am going to quit smoking here over the next few weeks (can't run a marathon when you're puffing on a cigarette) and I suspect that doing so will jump start my body or brain into eating more. I think nicotine is a huge, huge suppressant.

As far as my food choices, I eat lots of vegetables and I mean weird stuff like celery root and artichokes and what not. Those things are pretty much calorie-free but so high in fiber that you feel FULL. Know what I mean?

I made a gazpacho soup that honest-to-God was going to make me explode and the whole thing came to less than 200 calories per serving. There were so many vegetables, though, that I just feel I'm going to burst if I have any more.

I'll see what happens when I stop smoking. Maybe I'll actually crave something to eat.

However, if I gain a ton of weight, I'll let you know that, too.

Thanks for the concern, and moreso for not chastising the **** out of me and calling me names. I assure you, I have no eating disorders.
  • Tammy, {{{hug}}}. Just talk about what you need to talk about.

Well, yesterday turned out to be a big bad day, for me. I knew, early on that it was going to be. I ended up making really bad choices, and eating way too much of those bad choices. It wasn't a binge, as I term a binge. Just a string of overeating. I think I have it out of my system for a while, now. I sure hope so, anyway.

I am nicely back on track, today. And I am drinking a ton of water to help combat all the salt and other baddies from yesterday. (I think I am going to float away... ) I didn't exercise, today. My foot is hurting and I want to rest it for a day. Of course, all the trips I am making to the bathroom are probably helping to make up for it, a bit.

I hope that everyone is having a great Wednesday.
  • Thought I would say hello. I'm helping this weekend with a thing at church, so I won't be on here again till next week. We'll be in Michigan then, but I plan to take the laptop with me.

I haven't been keeping track of the calories, but I'm sure it can't be much. I just don't feel like eating. I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of things.
  • hi everyone! i'm hanging out on the "calorie counters" board as well as the "featherweights" board. this website is a lifesaver!
anyways, after getting weighed at the doctor last week i decided it was time for me to get back in the swing of things and lose this freshman 15 i put on, and then some. i'm keeping track of my calories on fitday

sunday: 1219 - did "learn and burn turbo jam"
monday: 1392 - did "learn and burn turbo jam"
tuesday: 1133 - did "burn turbo jam" twice in a row
wednesday: im up to 1576 - did "cardio party turbo jam"

my scale is currently in the mail from amazon (it comes with a free biggest loser workout dvd!) so i dont know if im losing or gaining. before i started counting, i was eating ice cream and a lot of junk food EVERY day so i think by just cutting down on that, it's probably helping.

i was just wondering if any of you had any tips or advice or if i'm doing anything incredibly wrong? my goal is to keep my cals under 1600-1800 per day

thanks everyone! hope you're all having a successful week. just keep your eye on the non-food related prize =)

PS: sorry this post is so long! i didnt realize it as i was typing
  • Calories for today: 1354
    Calories from fat: 32%

AnAbsoluteDiva-Care to share that gazpacho recipe? It sounds divine! I do love veggies and it's been so hot lately.

Ashley-Sounds like a good plan. Depending on your metabolism it might come off fairly slow if you are routinely eating 1800 calories (nothing wrong with that.) Looking at your counts are for the last few days though, it looks like you are well under. Don't worry about the long posts, we all like to chat away.
  • Diva, I would love that gazpacho recipe, too. It sounds great.

I did much better, yesterday. And I feel sooo much better, this morning. I must say, one thing I definitely don't miss about my old eating habits is the bloated, heavy, nasty, hungover feeling I lived with, all the time. When it hits me, after a day like I had the other day, it is a great reminder that I don't like to feel like that. The water push really helped, too. I don't normally slark down a gallon of water in one day.

Calories were: 1124. I got plenty to eat, including snacks.

I need to get back on the exercise train, today. My foot feels better and I am ready to go.

I hope that everyone is having a great and happy day.
  • Hey peeps! I am making good progress, still trucking along.

Gazpacho- Mmmmmm sounds so yummy! I want the recipe too!

Ashley- Yay, another Turbo Jammer, how wonderful! I love the workouts! Ice cream and junk will get ya, especially chips and snacks, too much sodium can reak havoc on the scale and your body!

Tammy- Safe journey while you're in Michigan.

Rain- I am so glad my BR is right by my office. I can run in there anytime, I do hate when I get the urge to while I am doing my walk. That's not a great feeling, especially if you're a couple of blocks away from home! LOL!

Zenor- LOL, I don't know where I want to be clothes wise. I do like Old Navy but you're right some of their stuff is funky, it either fits me well or is really loose. LOL!

    Have a great day everyone!!!
  • hi everyone!
I have not been to the site for a while, i have decided it is time to get back on the counting wagon, it worked before i know it will work again.
  • welcome back Cablgurl......jump right in. We love more people!
  • Well I am way behind on reading and posting. All heck broke lose around this place this week. I had to do our bid order which was well over 500 line items and then I placed at least another 25 to 30 orders on the credit card and I am trying to keep up with all that as it comes in.

I have been thinking about all of you and missed my time here.

Tammy, you have been in my thoughts none stop. It always amazes me on how things like the train coming through the precession and having enough pall bears. Amongst your pain you found blessings. I just pray for continued strength for you. You are a strong woman Tammy!

Tinky, I see you lost some more weight and didn't get any sleep. LOL! Weight does come one easy when you are off plan but it usually is water weight gain. As soon as you eliminate the sodium again, it usually comes right back off. Good job!

Still, See you are still on the mends. I bet it felt good to get it cleaned up even though it seem yucko! Congrats on the loss.

Zenor, that is great about the ice cream maker, your case frozen yogurt maker. Now, you can control what goes in and it might not set up as well because it doesn't have as much salt and fat. Enjoy! I see your headed to New Mexico, whohoo! I still don't think cloths look that fantastic on me so I understand.

Well I have to get going because I am leaving to go home. They are coming to trim the little guys feet and I have to try and catch Mr. Pibbs. I took his halter off because I don't like them left on so it is a bit of a challenge to catch him. Good exercise but irritating. I usually spend 1/2 hr every night trying to catch him, well it is slowly decreasing. Food works wonders.

Sorry I couldn't chat longer and hopefully next week will be calmer. Oh, I am down 1 lb, could have been more if I would have stuck to the program and feel fortunate to get the 1.

    Have a wonderful weekend all!
  • GrammyL, a pound is a pound! Good going. He. He. Ponies won't be caught unless they want to be. Horses? They're suckers. Shake a bucket with a few oats in it and they are all over you. Ponies... Not so much.

G' Morning, everyone! It is cloudy, very cool and should rain again. It rained from about three, yesterday afternoon to just after eleven, last night. It was heavenly. We need the moisture, desperately. We are under an extreme fire danger advisory and we live in the midst of a thick, tall pine forest. So, yeah. The more rain, the happier I am, right now.

I did very well eating, yesterday. Calories were a bit low at only 953. I just wasn't very hungry. I did get in 40 minutes of walk/march in place, too. Drank all my water and took my vitamins.

I need to get a few more calories. I think that will be doable, today. Lean sirloin steak is on my dinner menu, for tonight. With small baked potatoes and salad. Yum. It will just be hubbie and I for dinner, tonight. Pookey (our son) works until ten.

Have a great day, everyone. Stay on track, eat well, drink lots and feel fabulous.
  • HAPPY FRIDAY everyone! I am ready to get some sleep back. LOL!

GrammyL- LOL yeah I lost all my weight that I gained on the trip. That's not too shabby. Now I am in new number! Woohooo! Have fun getting the ponies taken care of! I know I rather much be doing something at home than be here at work today! LOL! It's too nice to work.

Rain-Enjoy the steak. It's been a while since I had any, but I guess that's fine I am not much a red meat eater. I am glad you got some cooling relief with the rain though. I wish it would rain here just one day. My flowers love it.

Cablgurl- Hey....welcome back!!!!!!! We're still here.
  • Well everyone I wanted to check in one last time. I have about an hour of work left then I go home and finish getting ready to go on vacation tomorrow. I have not decided yet if I will take the laptop along, so I may check in if I take it. If I dont then it will be July 22nd until I get back online again.

In the mean time I hope everyone is doing well and has a good 10 days!!!
  • Still- Have a wonderful vacation!!!! Have lots of fun!

Woohoo, I am able to log on here from home now! Finally!
