pixelllate - pick up some new clothes asap! I've only lost about 16 pounds, but buying a few things that really fit (at a smaller size) was a huge ego boost. I didn't spend a lot (just went to Old Navy) so it's ok if they don't fit in a few months. This morning I'm wearing a flow-y top from when i was larger and man, does it flow now. I kinda feel like I'm swimming. You deserve it from your hard work!

LeilaJey - Have a wonderful trip and hugs re: your eyes!

crazygurl61 - Hope today is going well for you! Hugs - you'll be back in no time!

krampus - I can't wait to hear what you think of Crossfit. It scares me and yet I'm intrigued. Everyone looks so buff! The place near us does an obstacle course for kiddos on Sunday afternoons so I keep thinking of checking it out by taking my son there.

JossFit - Congrats on your workout times today! And best wishes for a wonderful wedding. I can't wait to see pics!

----------------------

So, my body keeps moving down. No idea why. I did eat a little light yesterday but ended it with two slices of pizza (it had spinach - does that make it healthy) and a bowl of ice cream. This morning I was 129.9. What? ok, I'll take it. Going to yoga tonight so I know I'll be down further due to water weight being lost. THen I won't weigh again until Monday after our camping trip. Who knows where I'll be after that - likely up a pound or two but I'm going to try and control my impulses as much as I can.

leilajey : have some fun time away! keep us informed on your eyes issues! Maybe some blood pressure thingy?

krampus : omg, crossfit scares the **** out of me!!! you are used to lifting though, everything should go well for you!

jossfit : yes, 2 weeks featherchat-less... gonna be hard on the accountability! I'll fill up with beaches and salty air though and I'll be back in a better shape than ever! you are leaving quite soon for vegas, no? I'm sure you'll make the most beautiful bride ever *hugs*

Down to 137.6 lbs this morning.. yay! I also had some exam for a clinical trial stuff I was into and they mesure exactly your body fat% with some Xray thingy... It was kinda cool, I learned I have a lower body fat % than the average woman for my age! It was at 21.8% which is good, but I think I could bring it lower by starting doing more muscles exercices. I'll try to start doing back again my bodyweight exercices and will shop for some gym membership when I'm back from vacations!

OH AND I POOPED! YAY!

Hi Feathers,

I'm a new (again) member. Trying to get back to a good place with my body post-babies. I have been lurking on this board for a little while and love the support and accountability I've been seeing. I am also loving the food porn discussed on this board ;-)

BlueIsis - Welcome (back)! Looking at your ticker - congrats on your weight loss so far!

TurboMammoth - I love knowing stats like that. Gives you another angle for your overall health and fitness. Congrats on being down so far too!

I have a feeling this forum will be a little quiet for the next few days. I was supposed to go camping but our dog sitter cancelled and I just can't bring myself to kennel our old, sickly 15 year old dog. Tried to get another sitter but I didn't want to go with someone I've never met. Well, turned out to be a bonus for me: husband is going to take my son camping anyway while I stay home with the dog. I'd already taken today off of work, so I now have a 3 day weekend by myself. yay! I know that sounds terrible but esp. when you have kids getting one day off is a huge deal, 3 days is like paradise! lol. Going to spend today catching up on stuff around the house but first off to yoga. I'm so excited I'll get to go 3 days in a row. I normally only go 3 days a week! I also won't have to worry about feeding anyone else. THat may be a blessing or a curse. Hoping it means I'll stick to my diet and not need to worry about making anyone else happy.

Last night my husband broke out the chips and hummus around 10pm. I couldn't resist and munched for a bit, although I didn't totally binge. Up .5 lb today but still happy to be under 131.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Hi all!

Just wanted to say bye bye before I'm headed in the East of the province in vacations for 2 weeks. I won't have access much to Internet so no feather chats

See you in 2 weeks! Take care!

I just keep getting huger and huger, sigh. Was 128.2 this morning after a 1500 calorie day with a salty dinner (Vietnamese onions/greens/beef with lime dipping sauce and brown rice, UNGGGFFFF so good). I am ovulating (TMI TMI TMI I can tell because my libido skyrockets and penetration hurts on accounta my ovaries move down) and wonder if this has anything to do with it, and also switched from regular cigarettes to e-cigarettes two days prior. It's so frustrating but hopefully I'll just keep on keeping on and not get so discouraged I make it even worse, you know?

Have fun TurboMammoth!

DottieMae 3 days alone sounds like PARADISE. You can do whatever you want - enjoy and have fun!

BlueIsis Welcome (back) - you've hit us at a really quiet time but it'll pick back up in here!

Dancing with myse-elf, oh oh oh oh...

Scale is moving in the right direction and measurements are holding steady, 24 1/4 waist and 34 1/4 hips. My thighs are still 20" at the widest part. Nice to know the whole "I am a growing behemoth" thing was all mental.

Yesterday was an incredibly fun day at a local amusement park with my bf and a couple good friends. For $20 through one friend's work we got bus transport there and back, lunch and dinner buffets (gross food but they actually had steamed vegetables and non-fried options - and free ice cream haha), and (normally $40 plus $18 parking) tickets to the park. We went on ALL THE RIDES and probably flirted with the upper weight limit for one water slide that involved a huge funnel. We went reeeeally close to the edge on this one - our weights were 220, 265, 170 and 128!

On the nonsmoking front things are going great. That saps my last excuse for being lazy with exercise. My friends yesterday are both on the weight loss/better fitness front, I'm proud of them. One is following a low carb diet (and suffered stomach problems after breaking it yesterday) and the other is eating low carb and taking Krav Maga classes three days a week - I can see so much progress in them and they seem way more confident, too!

It seems like it's a current trend around here for young people to lose extra weight and get in shape, what with the wide availability of classes and programs and wholesome food. I like this a lot. Maybe we'll turn things around and see fewer sad sedentary people carrying around lots of extra body fat in the near future.

Hi all! Looks like its been slow this week around here, and I've been finally back on the wagon the past few days. The scale is going slowly but at least I know I'm on the right track.

I did Fast 5 yesterday and will do it again today. I am planning this week to sit down and make some mini-goals so I am not floating around aimlessly. My summer job ended Friday so I've got 3 weeks off until teaching starts back up again. I weighed at 137.8 today and am making a goal to start back at work at 135 or less.

Hope everyone has a good week!

krampus - omg that waterside looks awesome!

crazygurl61 - congrats! What's Fast 5? I've never heard of it. I assume it's some sort of fast, just don't know what the specifics are.

I had a good weekend of time by myself. Got a lot done around the house but it's never enough. I thought about going out with some friends on Saturday but I was kinda digging being by myself. I caught up on the last few episodes of Girls on HBO. I can't decide if I like or hate the show. All the characters are pretty detestable in their own way, but I think they've written them to be that way.

I did yoga every day which was nice, but I'm SOOOO exhausted as I usually only do it 3-4 times a week and I finished up 4 days in a row. I pretty much felt like poo and just limped along at today's class. I suppose that's bound to happen some days.

Side note I took my measurements and things are slimming down everywhere, BUT, my stomach is a mess! I really don't know what to do about it and if it's just extra skin or what. I swear I should create a gallery of women's stomachs after giving birth as birth control to young girls. lol. I never had a perfect stomach but it's like all the bad spots have just morphed to new places after having my son. I used to just have a bump towards the bottom of my stomach and now it's just puffy with no definition at all. I had a c-section so I don't know if that's part of it. It's just frustrating because my hips are down to 35 inches and yet I still have a 30 inch waist! What do I need to do? More sit-ups?

Hello All!!!

Just doing a quick hi/bye.
Still hanging in there. First week of work in the books and getting ready to start the second. LOVING the new job, but man, is it ever wiping me out.

Food has been bigger than normal (Zone bars and a giant Qdoba burrito featured heavily into last week) but am aiming to dial it back down for this week. Just finished my morning oatmeal and have a chicken caesar for lunch.

Has anyone on here had any experience with chia seeds? I've heard good things about them and just saw some in the health food store on Saturday. May be planning a trip back there tomorrow to purchase...

Have a GREAT start to the week, everyone!!!!

DottieMae I can't speak to C-section stomach issues from personal experience, but I know a lot of young women in their mid-20s who WILL NOT wear two-piece swimsuits, and one who runs and goes to the gym 7 days a week who still has some squish there. If it's any consolation, I haven't even been pregnant and I can make "butt" shapes with my tummy and it dangles unattractively if I am on my knees. My waist is just over 24" but my belly button region is almost 28."

Alexistrophic You're doing great! Change your profile weight My only experience w/chia seeds is Chia Pets, hahahaha. I had a cow.

126.8 this morning. Moving in the right direction. I ate pretty well yesterday if you ignore the block of chocolate and splitting a (diner sized) slice of coconut cream pie with my dad.

Alexis-Great job!!! I love those burritos as well :-).

Dottie- I am so impressed that you are in the 120's! Fast 5 is when you fast for 19 hrs and eat all your calories within a 5 hr window that day. For example, I am going to eat my days calories between 12-5 today.

Krampus- good job in heading back down!

Ok, so I am dissapointed to be at 138 today but I am still going to do one more day of fast 5. I know I'm on the right track and the scale will eventually move the right way.

Alexistrophic - Glad to hear the new job is going well! I haven't had Chia seeds but (except like krampus - Chia Pets!) but I use Flax seeds a lot. Sprinkle them in my salads and such.

krampus - Thank you for keeping me real! I went in front of my mirror today (hey, perk of my lunch hour since I work from home!) and realized I'd been measuring too low. I usually put the tape right around my belly button but the thinnest part of my waist is actually higher, resulting in a 29inch waist.

AND, I had the realization that I'm about 2-3 days away from TOM, so yeah, perhaps my sob story had a bit to do with bloating. My tummy still hangs when I bend over and yeah, I don't know if that will ever go away. I spent like 2 hours last night googling tummy tucks. ha! My consensus: I still have belly fat, yeah, maybe a little loose skin too but I need to bring my fat percentage down if I want to get a leaner tummy. In time, in time. Just gotta work hard.

crazygurl61 - oh man, I'd be a complete b*tch if I didn't eat for that long! Good luck though! Sounds like you're back on track!
