you girls sure are inspiring......i have not gone for my walk tonight and was debating to skip it but with all this exercise going on i don't want to be left out! that is for sure....

tomorrow at work they are ordering pizza in.......i am going to have a slice of it too. the girl that comes in when i am away made sure they ordered a ww friendly pizza.....she is at her goal but still watches every little morsel! i will take in my salad and fruit to make sure that i get my veggies and fruit in......the only thing i don't like about this is that weigh in is tomorrow night......surely, a piece of pizza will not make a difference on that night's weigh in ......would it??

work.....man oh man, i love my job but at times it is quite trying.....the office is full of out of towners ............ tomorrow afternoon most of them leave! does that happen to anyone else? it takes me twice as long to do something because of the interruptions, wants and needs ...... i must be ready for a break!

i will have to look for those oats....maybe at the health food store, since the stores here are so limited on 'good' stuff.....but i am going to barrie on saturday so maybe a bigger center might have some......frouf....have you found them anywhere? sobey's ? and zehrs are my only choices here....

better get walking

Frannie, it used to happen to me all the time. I think one slice of pizza won't hurt you even on weigh in day unless it has salty stuff on it (green olives, pepperoni). Judging by what you said your friend will probably make sure it has more veggies than anything else. I bet you'll be ok.

Frannie, you'll be okay. Just remember that ONE slice of pizza won't cause you to gain 27 pounds back.

Well, I bought some steel cut oats at Publix ... they had Arrowhead Mills brand for half the price of the McCann's. Vickie, I tried my hand at your mock apple/berry cobbler recipe with some modifications ... I only had one apple so I cut the whole recipe in half and baked it in a glass pie plate. Oh, I also used frozen unsweetened blueberries instead of blackberries. I baked it for over an hour but it didn't get very juicy. I sampled it when I dished it up and it tastes pretty good but was a little bit bitter to me ... adding a little Splenda would probably work wonders. I think mixed up with some FF/SF vanilla pudding it will be an out of this world dessert. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Angela, you are going to melt away to nothing with all that dancing around. I'll bet you have a wonderful WI tonight!

Frannie, I wish I had your discipline and could force myself to exercise when I'm not in the mood for it ... once the elliptical gets delivered this weekend, I WILL make myself do it!

Froufie, check your e-mail ... a little something will be coming your way shortly!

Yay, I met my goal! I wanted to lose 20 total by this weigh-in, and I did! I lost 2.6, but keep in mind that I weigh in every other week...so it's not THAT wonderful.

My reward for 20 pounds gone (on CORE) is buying myself a new outfit. I'm going to get some nice boot cut jeans and some kind of fitted top. I'll be stylin'!

Hey Everyone! So, I'm all official now. The place we're going to is nice! Several years ago, when I was doing points, we went to a mtg in this little VFW hall basement, and so I guess that's what my impression has always been. This place is just for WW. They have a bunch of meeting times, and the place is so cool. It's got all sorts of little signs, and I like it! It's a HUGE meeting too, like 30 people, maybe more.

Anyway, I was nervous about WI, cuz I normally weigh myself Sat am before eating, but there was only a +1lb difference tonight from last Sat, so I didn't freak. I am still a little nervous about the switch, and am a little afraid of a gain the first week, but we'll see.

I'm loving that now it seems like everyone is getting into the DDR craze! I LOVE mine. I really want to get one of those nicer pads, but I would have no where to put it away at night!

Well, I got my Essay done (I take classes Tues/Thurs nights)--YAY!, and now I'm going to hang out here for a little while, then go review all my WW info, and see if I can't getmyself all planned out for my first Core week!

Oh, hey, I wanted to ask y'all--how many of you bought the little kit with the books, and all that jazz? Just wondering if you think it's work the 25 bucks or whatever it is, or if you can pretty much get all that info elsewhere?

I can't decide if I want to buy it.

I bought it the first time I joined, didn't use them so I sold them on ebay. Then when I rejoined @ work, I bought them again, STILL didn't use them (why don't I learn???) and sold them. Then I bought a calculator, one of the nice ones, on ebay too so now that's all I use.

I find all the info I need either from here, or dwlz.com, or by doing a google search. But that's just my opinion. Lots of people want everything right at their fingertips so they have it handy ... and that's fine too.

Spring, I just wanted to say that for a Wisconsin'er (or whatever you're called) I'm very impressed by your use of "y'all". Since it's a contraction for "you all" ... of course it would be y'all. I get so ticked by the people who type ya'll. You wouldn't believe how anal I can be.

Kathy-LOL! Glad my slang skills are up to snuff. I say ya'll suprisingly often for being all the way up here.

At least there're Canadians here, so I don't feel like such a freak.

And you can call me "Cheesehead," thank you very much. hehehehe

Talking !!!

Congrats Angela - way to go - guess all that hopping around paid off! Definitely time to go SHOPPING!!! (we froufs love shopping!)

And Spring - looks like you are signed up and on your way! Good luck!

By the way which DDR mat do you have? I assume you are talking about the hard one as the one you want to get? I think I found those on the web somewhere - look pretty expensive? I think I would have space to store it (behind the wall unit? how big is this thing anyways?)...but not sure if I want to spend the big bucks! Might start with a soft one first? Is there any benefit to a wireless mat??

Deborah - check your email - back at ya! Thanks! ..and you beat me to it with the recipe experiment - I think I will add some of my vanilla flavored sf syrup to sweeten it up a bit.

Was so tired when I got home - no cooking for me - so I had two bowls of my beef/barley soup, some carrots and dip and a big tub of popcorn....and water! And I am GOING TO BED EARLY TONIGHT!!

Now I have a CHALLENGE tomorrow that I almost forgot about! Dh volunteers at this museum (Frannie have you heard of the Diefenbunker? will try and find link - it's a very cool place). Anyhow their jan 6th after xmas party for volunteers was postponed to FEB 3RD!! due to bad weather. So we are off tomorrow to a very nice restaurant - I don't think it's dinner (which I think I could probably manage) - more like finger foods and drinks (which will be MUCH HARDER FOR ME)...it will be very hard not to pick at one thing or another. Hoping there are veggies and dip or something else core-friendly? I have decided to eat something before I go (soup?) to ensure I am not starving - what about a drink? Do I have wine or diet pepsi or water??? And of course I will know no one there (except dh) so this makes it worse!!! HELP!

And here it is Creamy Brown Rice Pudding

3 cups cooked brown rice, warm
1 can (12 ounces) ff evaporated milk
3 large egg whites
1 large egg
1/4 cup splenda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp ground nutmeb

Combine rice, milk, egg whites, egg, splenda, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg in medium saucepan. cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly for 8 1o 10 minutes or until thickened.

My modifications: I used two whole eggs - did not want to separate and did not want to get stuck w/those extra yolks....did not use splenda but used my sf vanilla syrup, more cinammon/less nutmeg (don't like nutmeg that much), and added about 3/4 cup of raisins.

I tried it warm, but I think I prefer it cold - seemed a bit dry tho so might add some evap milk or ff cool whip or even sf/ff vanilla yogurt! Enjoy.

angela, wow 2.6 is a big loss......1.3 per week......that is huge! Way to Go!! That is just awesome. Have a fun time shopping, boot cut jeans so cute, and roll them up in the summer!

Deborah, thanks.....I did make it to the elliptical machine tonight during a tv show. Never made it outside. Too much housework staring at me I guess but at least I got downstairs and walked away there!

Spring Thaw.....Welcome to becoming an official! I love your y'all too. That is the one thing I say up here that gives away the fact that I am not a true born Canuck! What about you'ns? or is that way too southern?? (too many relatives in the hills of Tennessee I think!) Boy, that took a lot to write with this stupid French keyboard...... too many á in the wrong place of ' ............ And I did buy the books at the beginning but now that I do CORE I have the wrong books......I only have the point books......so I just use the internet to look things up

You ladies are right, 1 slice of pizza won't show up on the scale worth 27lbs! I will have to let you know how I make out with my challenge. We are having an all day meeting.......930-2.........tomorrow, so that will take care of my day. DH gives blood after work tomorrow too so I won't be home until after 5. What a messed up day I will have. And after not being in routine, i will be pooped!

I am off to bed now.....up at 530 to wash this hair of mine so that it doesn't freeze too bad by the time we leave at 645........I wish I had my camera with me this morning....the frost on the trees was absolutely gorgeous.......A beautiful winter scene, fields white white, trees in the background glistening with the frost and the sun yes sun beaming down........

Groundhog day here......Wiarton Willie saw his shadow, 6 more weeks of winter.....but had he not seen his shadow, 6 more weeks to spring........???? Same 6 weeks to me!
