I think I'm somewhere between a pear and an hourglass? My measurements are 36-28-39. I actually quite like my rear end, it's just my thighs that are and always have been the big problem area. Can't wait for the day that I can walk without my inner thighs rubbing together!

After losing the last 15 lbs which came from my boobs and belly, I'm less apple than I was before.

Default ergh...

Hourglass.

When I gain weight I always gain it in my face, hips/thighs and my arms/chest. I hate having fat arms and legs!!! >.<

The only thing I like is that I have an itty bitty teeny tiny waist. Even at my heaviest my stomach was still flat and 30" (huge to me who is used to having a nip closer to 24-26) around. I don't even get back fat.

Pear shape (plus those pesky "wings")

All of my weight is in my thighs and love handles. I'm flat chested and don't carry much in my stomach either. My thighs are in huge disproportion to the rest of my body. I also gain around my upper arms aka the "wings".

Its all hereditary, in 10 years I expect to gain more in my stomach and none in my thighs as all the women in my family do.

i would say i'm a pear, no boobs, relatively small waist etc, but i have broad-ish shoulders and my hips are big, but not out of proportion. My big problem is my thighs. They are wider than my hips and its impossible to find trousers that fit! If they fit my massive thighs then they are gaping at the waist. I have had to invest heavily in belts

As for what i like (that one is tougher)... My legs are nicely shaped untill just above the knee so mid length skirths suit me, and i have a flat stomach. I suppose i like a lot of things about my body, id just like them all to be smaller (which is why im here i guess!)

I am a pear. My butt and thighs no doubt are the biggest. It is hard finding a good fitting pair of jeans because once I get them over my thighs and butt the waist is too big. It is very frustrating.

Pear without a doubt! My bottom and thighs are huge, I've been told before I look more like 200lb then 140 because of my lower half. My waist is relatively small (26), and I have small boobs, but the lower half of me (39 hips) hate me!

Default pear to losing the waist

I am a pear - I read that the apple/ pear /hourglass shapes have been joined by spoon, rectangle and triangle shapes

positive thing: calves

I read that the two diets to follow for weight loss are

Apples
Lower carbohydrate diet (avoiding processed and 'white' carbs).
Pears
Lower fat diet (avoiding full fat foods; cheeses, butter).

I agree the waist band thing is AWFULLY frustrating - a belt does not help at all and taking in the waist bands takes finesse' with sewing that I don't have!

Wow, I'm also 5'7", 174#, and my waist is 32.75" and hips 44". I don't know how anyone could think you look like 200# with 26 and 39" waist and hips.

I think, an hourglass. All my weight is in my upper arms, breasts, thighs and backside. My waist, sides, lower legs and lower arms are small. It drives me insane because nothing fits right. Sometimes I think I look like I've been put together from a box of spare parts from a larger person and smaller person.

To choose a positive thing, my calves are nice, and my abs are getting more definition.

This is my 1st post! I'm definately an APPLE. Even at my goal weight I never had a waist. No hips or butt either though

Legs and bust are just right when my weight is right

hi wanderlusting! i just tried to send you a PM but i can't yet because i don't have 10 posts. my measurements are very similar to yours (36-29-38, 141 lbs, 5'5, goal weight is 120) and was wondering if you were looking for a weight loss buddy?

don't feel obligated to say yes, my feelings won't be hurt. i understand that some people like to do things more independently. but let me know if youre interested! :-)

I think I look about 165-170 maybe, when I was told 200 I wanted to kill them! It's without a doubt the thighs/butt area-which is funny because I can fit into a size 6/7 pants, I think I just look..unproportionate (is that a word? ) to the rest of my body.

Hmm, I didn't know that low fat diets were good for pears...it seems as if my body reacts best to low carb diets!

I tend to be an apple; my tummy and back take the hardest hit. My legs always stay super thin and my arms gain a little. I started my weight loss almost 4 months ago and I'm nearly there! Now I'm an hour glass! I LOVE my legs and so far I'm still disliking my back chub lol However I never realized that I had so little to go, being that I am more of a Mesomorph as opposed to endo/exomorph. I packed on muscle and lost fat rapidly.
