*sneaking in here*

Just to clear a few things up.

Mel - I didn't say you were a food ****! I felt a bit ambushed since some other people made some comments - all you did was say was that my post made you hungry! I completely understand you opening another thread for "confessionals" which is fine. However I do think that it's unhealthy to think about food in that way. All it is is fuel

However I did step back completely from 3FC for a few days and take time out to re-evaluate what I was doing with my health and my training and my eating. Around this time I was having a small meltdown because I was considering leaving kickboxing too. Fortunately things have settled on that front too. I came back from my soul searching with the view to try Intuitive Eating, and to cut back on kickboxing classes. I think I can get a little frenzied sometimes and sometimes I feel that this part of the forum can be very intense and I do sometimes feel like I'm being judged about my eating when all I want to do is share my joy in eating real food that I wouldn't have entertained 5 years ago. Food is part of our lives, I aim to make it as pleasureable as possible, and no that doesn't mean eating ****** or ******-******* or ******* all day [insert "bad" food here].

I do understand people being "triggered" into eating treats by reading about other people. I have just read Diary of a Fat Housewife and that left me craving the most hiddeous stuff that I haven't even thought about for 5-10 years!!!! But I didn't go out and eat it!

So yeah I left for a little while, I needed to think about some things and I needed to think about them without being tied to the computer. In that time I made a decision to stop using Fitday and I feel so free! However I did miss posting and I did Blog quite a lot about how I was feeling at that very moment. I'm simply not posting here because I don't feel I can identify with the majority here. However I continue to lurk ocassionally to see how everyone is!

I continue to eat healthily (albeit intuitively), I continue to lift heavy and I continue to train for my brown belt. I'm just a little more relaxed now.

Hullo, 2F. Nice to see you. Thanks for posting. Re-evaluation's always good in my book.

I've had a good morning with logs. Take a armful of logs on your L arm, and one in your R hand. Step up two over-high steps, dodge round the daffodils and under the washing line. Make a log pile as high as you dare. Quite a good workout. It has to be done like this because I see Work on the Drains in our future and it makes sense to stack the logs just the once. No point in moving them from the usual place right on top of the drains. I've finished now but next time come round and join in! It'd be

2fru – Nice to see you pop in. Glad you’re doing well.

Silver – that does sound like a challenging workout, and fun!

I must admit my workout last night got sidetracked, I got stuck in some freeway traffic and Trader Joe’s was more crowded than I thought it might be, so I ended up getting home late, starting dinner late, and then Jason came home early, and I was so tired I wanted nothing more than to just crash on the couch and watch American Idol, so no kickboxing for me. I have Friday off so I think I’ll double up and do weights and cardio that day to even it out. On the bright side I did make a new healthy dish that got rave reviews. Roasted brussels sprouts and sweet potato dressed with mango chili vinegar (a new TJ’s find) a bit of Earth Balance margarine and whole wheat bread crumbs. Roasting totally gets rid of the slightly bitter taste of brussels sprouts! Delicious.

Hope everyone is having a good day, I’m looking forward to my three day weekend!

Frus - I'm glad you are stepping back for your own good and re-evaluating where you are. I think sometimes we do run ourselves ragged and that isn't good for us in the long term.

As for trigger foods, I have my own mind to trigger me into foods that really I should avoid. I enjoy eating healthy but sometimes it feels as if something else takes over for me and tells me to eat things that I really shouldn't. When I do eat those things, I find out that I really don't enjoy them. So why do I eat them? I don't know. It is a part of my own self sabatoge I think. I don't know why. I so wish I could remove the emotional from my eating, but I can't. If I can for a little while, I lose. If I can't, I maintain (or gain then lose to maintain). I'm trying not to weigh this month to help remove a bit of the emotional because I know the number on the scale has become a trigger.

Hi Fru Nice to see you. I hardly ever log in Fitday anymore. I just know what I have to eat. Doing it everyday still wold drive me crazy, too. To tell you the truth, I think the rest of us are intimidated by your workouts and intensity. I'm not surprised you had a small meltdown. You've been going at lightening speed for quite a while with the added little stressor (even though happy) of getting married.

nelie- I agree about the scale number being a trigger. This week has been really rough on me and I know I ate some low calorie but high sodium food a few days ago. Stupidly, I weighed myself with predictable results. Then I really did eat too much. Why is this such a head game?

I'm taking a workout break for the rest of the week (I think...if I can make myself!) I'm just exhausted. I was actually thrilled that both my afternoon clients canceled even tho I won't get paid- I can take a NAP!!!!!

Todays exercise was shoveling the 1/2 of the drive that I didn't do yesterday. It's too darn cold to melt!

I would second what Mel said about your workouts Frus, very intimidating! I only wish I had the energy or desire to be so active.

I also didn't realize how different I'd feel after getting married. I'm still getting adjusted and I have no idea how long it takes for such a change. I finally went the other day to get my name "officially" changed. Once I get the paperwork back, I'll have to submit some stuff through work to get my name changed, then I need to get my passport changed and all my credit cards and everything. I wish there was some "poof" and it'd be all done.

Good morning. Just down from my morning run.

Yesterday I decided to finally split up the upper body and I spent a bit of time with the weightlifting site eryx or however its spelled. That was fun.

Fru I have to say that your manic obsessive energy is quite contagious. I really get inspired by hearing all that you do. But still even wonderwoman takes a vacation now and then.

I am still struggling with lower body. My run is quite hilly and when I try to workout on my running days I can't do much but then I am afraid that if I workout on my non running days I won't have enough recovery time. I am just thinking out loud here but as always advice is always welcome.

BTW since I have started this quest my husband has become a total copy cat. This is great of course...he lifts my weights and runs on my off days. But he dropped 25 lbs like in a week. OK maybe a month or 2 but it is just ridiculous and I find his forbidden foods in the car so I know he is not eating nearly as good as me. I married a hummingbird. I swear. genetics. All my inlaws are so dang thin.

Just a small vent. Still he is looking fine so I suppose it is to my benefit that he is getting all buffed out.

time for second cup of coffee....

I did another lbwo today and that seemed to help things with my legs. They don't hurt now, but that will probably only be temporary relief. It was only about 48 hrs since my last workout, so it was a long enough wait, even tho it was shorter than my usual 4-5 days between workouts.

My husband is also a copy cat. He copies what I do and has lost over 15 lbs in a year. He is now in the 130s () but he constantly eats. The difference is he eats a little healthier than he used to.

Although he gets mad when I use heavy weights and then get really sore the next day. He tells me I shouldn't go for the heaviest possible but rather build up. He is partially correct but I like going heavy

Isn’t it just so darned frustrating that some men seem to be able to drop so much weight easily by doing exactly what you do to drop just a couple pounds? Ah well, no one said life would be fair.

Nelie – that sounds like a royal pain with the name change. I’ve decided not to change my name for a number of reasons, but not going through all that hassle is definitely one of them! I am a little concerned that my future in-laws will feel a little insulted or something, but my df doesn’t mind and I think that’s what really matters.

Name changing is the pits! I changed mine the first time I got married. Then I got divorced and went to graduate school. I found there were 3 other people in my class with the same name! And one had the same middle initial. So, I changed my name. Interestingly though, I took my maternal grandparents' name (i.e. my mother's maiden name). My parents were divorced when I was in grade school and my mother remarried and changed her name, so I grew up in the 50's with parents with a different name than mine - very uncommon where I lived. I hadn't seen my father in years and felt no connection with my maiden name, so I chose my grandparents' name (I was very close to them). So when I came to marry the second time, I opted not to change my name. Now, however, it's very common for couples to have different names so no one blinks an eye. We don't have kids, so no discussion about what to give them for names.

Mel and Frus - both of your workout schedules leave me shaking my head in amazement! Sounds like a nice rest is in order for both of you.

I've been working on increasing my cardio knowing it'll take me the time I have left to be ready to do 13 miles. I'm also starting to run some too, since the time it'll take to walk 13 miles is waaay too long. So far my knees are not complaining too badly. It'll take some outside running to be sure though, and I won't be doing that any time soon - given that our temps are still sub-zero in the mornings. brrrr.

Nelie, don't forget to change your name on your car title too! I did all the name change stuff but totally forgot about my car title until I was in a car accident where the car was totalled by the insurance company. It was a bit of a hassle because I'd not done the name change before the accident. Everything worked out but if I'd done it right away then I woudn't have had the added stress of the name issues on top of losing my car and my injuries. It's amazing how much you have to change. Good luck!

Hi LWL,

Nelie- On the name change thing..I did not change my name when I married. XH was a bit puzzled about this, and the inlaws commented, but when I explained that I would take his name if he took mine, the subject was dropped with lighting speed. Funny how changing roles quickly put the whole issue into a different perspective. Of course, I'm divorced now so that issue resolved itself. The only weird thing is that my children automatically got his name.

Silver - Great wood log workout!

have a great day all,
Rabbit

I didn't change my name when I was married and have been explaining to people for the last 28 years that I'm not divorced, that my husband can pick up the kids from school, and that I really do have health insurance- it's just filed under a different name! Either was you go, it's a pain in the tush!

Speaking of pain in the tush, by Friday I FINALLY recovered from my Monday leg workout! I definitely needed a break. Today was the first day that I didn't feel exhausted when I got out of bed. Food has been on- but no workouts other than 40 minutes of sluggish-no sweat cardio broken into two session yesterday Hope I don't blow up like a puff fish!

Hope everyone is have a great weekend!

Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead tonight

Hi all!

I started changing my name at work and it is already fun to start confusing people. My manager knew my new last name but he didn't know I was changing it so he said it showed up with just my first initial and new last name when he went to approve my time card. The new last name is just plain weird to me, will take a little getting used to.

Today I went hiking! First hike of the season. There was some snow and ice on the ground and it was definitely mushy. I normally don't do well walking on mush but I did pretty good. It was also good just to get some exercise, as always.
