Evening girls.

Well today was the retirement ceremony and we all got through it OK. I'm glad that's over we were both really anxious about it. It's a big weight of hubs shoulders now he just needs to find a job. Fingers crossed we have heard. It's really wierd the air force has been his life for 26 years and now it's over.

So maybe I can now get my head around my weight issues!!!

hi all.I am 46 and FINALLY think I got IT! In 2 weeks thanks to exercise (a lot)cutting carbs( i am diabetic) and daily prayer I have lost 15 lbs. ok i know about water weight and all that it is still 15lbs! 100 to go... I am making little goals so I don't get overwhelmed. I am still at the excited stage but I don't want to share with coworkers or even family yet, maybe never I am just doing my own thing. So if i go overboard bear with me ok?

Brismiley: Do you think that stress just attaches itself to you once you hit our special 40+ time of life? Lol! Sometimes I have to wonder!

Hi everyone. My name is Kym and after looking around and hanging in the intro forum I`m hoping you have room for another person. I`ll be turning 45 this month. After losing weight pretty steadily I`m stuck. It doesn`t help that at my age my 20+ year marriage is ending. My only child is in the Air Force and stationed far from home. I live alone except for my pets(and they don`t care if I eat cookies all night)I hike acouple of hours a day with my dog but I haven`t really lost any more weight in a couple of months. I`m trying not to give up but sometimes it`s not easy.Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thank everybody here for posting....Kym

Morning everyone. Hi Kym, glad to have you with us.

Somewhere in the Exercise forum, I'm doing a walking thread for August. Anybody coming along?

Welcome Kym, I'm sorry you're going through a tough time. Hopefully we can give you a little support and laughs along the way! We all have very similar issues, so just jump in and start posting. We're here for you!

I'll check out that thread, Susan. I feel a little unorganized and out of sorts right now with trying to get everything done, but that might help!

Kym~ Welcome. I am sorry you are going through such a rough time. I find that it helps being here and getting to know these ladies, they are great :-).

Diane~ LOL Yes I do believe stress increases at 40, could be the fact that the kids are in a stage that causes a lot of stress ;-).

Susan~ I will check that thread out.

I am still plugging along. It is hard not to emotional eat with all that is going on around here. Yesterday was a bad eating day, lots of chocolate. So today I am going to try and stay on track.

Hi all -
I'm 100 pounds overweight.
I have high blood pressure and am pre-diabetic.
I am giving my ALL to becoming fit and healthy and I truly believe this forum is going to be critical to my success. I need the support of others who have gone this way before me or are currently going down this path to health.
My entire life, I've felt like the only thing I haven't really been able to achieve, when I've really put my mind to it, is a fit and healthy body. I do not want to give in to the health issues that are resulting from my excess weight.

Welcome Kris! Good luck to you in your weight loss goals. It is so important to take care of ourselves and losing weight is such a great start. Although the benefit of looking better is a great one, being healthy is the best goal of all.

Thanks Diane. It really feels good to be here. And I agree....the looking better is certainly an incentive also!

Yesterday I got back on the wagon food wise. Today I'm back with my exercise plan having just finished 60 minutes of aqua aerobics.

Eleny, I love your slogan! How true it is. I mean, even though I had about a week of not exercising and having a bit of a caloric creep, if I look at the big picture, it's really not that big a deal. I'm going to look at the last week as a learning experience. The good thing is that I didn't go all crazy and binge - I just got a bit sloppy. A year from now, I will be glad I got back on track!

Kris~ Welcome. Good for you for not binging and for getting back on track. A year from now you will be very happy you are staying focused on getting healthy :-).

I started Weight Watchers At Home program today. I am a little hungry but for the most part feel really good. Still need to work in the exercise again.

Morning!
Exercise is hard these days. It's so hot and humid here. I have gone for a couple of walks (that I logged in the August walk/run thread) but they were short ... no running .

I weighted today and I am at 190! one pound less then what I was before TOM arrived! I am excited! I can taste the 180's!

Susan I hear you on the hot and humid. I know I live in the desert, but during this time of year (we call it monsoon season) it gets to be around 90 to 100% humidity along with the heat. So I haven't been exercising like I want. But I will get back at it.
