Good morning and thanks so much for the warm welcomes! I really appreciate it.
I hope everyone had a lovely 4th. I did something not very smart and am suffering with a hangover this morning. We decided to play Scrabble and drink up the liquor that was leftover from a party we had a couple of weeks ago. I used to drink a lot and for the last year year and half I hardly touch the stuff. So, drinking two bottles of champagne wasn't the smartest decision I've made recently. Not to mention helping my Sweetie eat potato chips and popcorn.
But, that is OK. I knew I was going to do it and I did. Now the stuff is out of the house and this morning I went right back on plan. I read that 3-hour diet thread that is on here and that is pretty much how I'm doing my plan. I don't like rules and schedules, but I do know I need some accountability and a plan of attack. Fit-day really helps me. Although I didn't enter how many calories are actually in two bottles of champagne!!
I also am not sure of my current weight and that is why I don't have one of those cute little tickers yet. We don't have a scale in the house and since I've not been to Curves in over three weeks I don't know how much I've gained. I was at 228 but my clothes tell me that is not the case at the moment.
I'm going to start back at Curves tomorrow and will get me my weight so I can start counting down those lousy, stinking, unwanted pounds.
I've been trying to jump in on this thread but am nervous about jumping in on such a busy thread. I keep trying to follow along and get to know everyone but to no avail!
So, hi, I'm jumping in. I've read so many wonderful things from you all that I can't wait to get to know you. I am 47, have gained 25 pounds in the last year and finally said, "That's it!" I think this web site is a great starting point; in fact I 've lost 6 pounds since logging on and it's because of all of you.
Hoping.....I came to this thread because it is so interactive....I think you will like it...
we should have a challenge starting today...CAMMIE is starting it I think....so look for the post...
it was very successful last time....
btw everyone..I got thru the 4th ok...I ate a little more than usual but I think I stayed within my calorie allowance...unfortunately I DID NOT JOURNAL MY FOOD YESTERDAY!!! so I am not happy about THAT....but I weighed this morning and lost .2 lbs.....(note that that's POINT 2....not 2) since the day b4...
Hoping....
Don't worry about remembering people's names.
Sometimes I forget whos who and I have to look back in the threads. I'm thinking about starting a cheat sheet for myself...(ie, SusanB lives is almost at her goal weight and has been using fit day for years; Slashnl got her user name from the brand (as in branding iron) they use on their ranch).
I feel bad when I'm afraid to "mix people up" because I haven't shook someone's hand to put a face with a name...then again, with the way my brain's failed me recently, it'd be "name charades" even if I'd met everyone and we grew up together.
And yes Ladies...
Today 5 July, is my Day 1 again, on my 5 day challenge. (I can't tell if I had any weight loss it was PMS week for me.) I did learn alot though.
This week, I'm sure I'll lose some...I can do 5 days.
Gotta run,
(ok, walk to the car with the bike on the rack, but you know what I mean)...
Cammie
Welcome Hopingtobehopeful! Just jump right in. This has been a fun thread to join and, yes, I have to cheat sometimes and look back at who said what. It's ok to cheat. Hmm..... Well, it's ok to look back in the thread.
Nobody should ever be afraid of jumping into a 3FC thread. The nice thing about message boards is that your message stays there. Which is a good thing because my memory is sooo short!
A big olde HEY THERE! To hopingtobehopeful There is nothing to be nervous about just jump in and enjoy! So what type of diet plan are you following?
Cammie... So this 5 day challenge is whatever we want to make it? Right? or is there a limit as to what to how, what, when, where, and why? And Cammie I am horrible with names I don't remember them in person and I sure don't remember them on the computer very well I am always checking back...but if we ever meet I never forget a face or eyes!
Clydegirl... Hey there how goes the shopping have you found anything!
Pita420... Okay I am so clueless what is the 3 hour diet? Is it one of those weird fad diets?
Susan... I looked around but I am using this thing on my computer that is a template that I made on my computer...So I am still using that one!
I introduced myself a little while back, but then never posted again...but I am feeling like it would be nice to have somewhere to chat about how things are going and some support and accountability. This is a tough road to go alone
I have recently moved to a new town, in a new country and I've no one yet who I can get support from, execpt my husband (who has been great-went on the diet with me and promptly lost the 15 lbs he needed to! I think
overnight!!!)
I went on holiday to Europe for a week and fell of the wagon big time, but amazingly did not gain any weight, so I feel releaved that I don't have to relose the first 10 pounds again.
I am going to try to get exercising more this week. I belong to a really nice country club, but I feel like such a fat slob in the gym...I will have to get over that hurdle. Maybe setting some mini goals will help.
Thanks for the virtual shoulder, enjoy your saturday.
Linda

Reason: poor spelling :)
Welcome again, Aerie! (btw, I liked your reason for editing your last post... poor spelling. That made me laugh!!!) Did you move from Europe to California? Boy, what an adjustment that would be!! I hope you get to meet some new people soon! But, you'll always have friends here!!
Pita: Good luck with eating out! That's always tough for me. It's probably good that we don't go out much. Well, that's not quite true because unfortunately, we have times when we need to because we're busy with the kids' sports and aren't near home. Just can't stand fast food anymore!!!
Hopingtobehopeful: How's it going? Are you feeling better about jumping in on this thread? I hope so!!
Laura, Clydegirl, Jo, Wiffle, Susan, Kimush, Cammie, and anyone else out there: So, whasssup??? Anything new and exciting for anyone???
As for me, we're wrapped up in my son's baseball tournament. He's 11 and on the All Stars team. The tournament started on Thursday and they lost their first game (they were nervous, playing out of town against the home town team), but they won last night, so we keep playing now until we lose. The games are at a town about 1 1/2 hours away. Some people are staying there, but I just would rather come home. The games are not during the day, just at 5:30 each night, so we'd have to figure out what to do all day, waiting for the games.
Still really hot and dry here. We had a lightning storm around the mountains last night, so I won't be surprised if there are some wildfires going on today.
