I've been here exactly one year as of today. Not in a celebratory mood. I thought I could resign myself to being here but it's still really hard. I have resorted to cookies and cannabis this past week to try to get through this downward spiral. The stuff that used to work is not working since I have no hope of changing my physical location. No idea what to do.
We had a really nice visit with DH's sister and her family yesterday. All 4 dogs were present and got along fine.
DH seems determined to really lose the weight this time. I think that will help with my lack of focus. If he is not eating bags of chips and litres of ice cream it will be easier for me to avoid them.
I have to cut back on the snacks, evening eating, and up the walking distance/intensity when I'm out with Holly.
I did do a stretching/yoga workout this morning and my body is so happy! I'll press onward.
I'm home after an 8 day trip to visit my son & family in Washington (State of). Four days driving and four days visiting. I'm tired!
Dagmar, I can't remember the name of the town you are in now. I like to look up places on the map. Sorry you are not liking it. Maybe you should come visit me for a week and you'd like your town better I live a mile west of Alpaugh, California.
Dagmar, are you getting smoke from the fires? I saw a report that said Toronto (I know you're not there) had the worst air quality in the world today! So I thought it must be affecting you too.

We are getting smoke from the fires but it's minimal. We are physically much closer to the fires than TO but I think the wind disperses the smoke differently than just geography would.
TO has always been known as the "Big Smoke" . Maybe kinda the same effect that LA has with the smog?
Finally down to below 150 lbs. - 149 on the scale this morning. I have had to get really relentless about cutting calories and I am hungry at least 2X per day every day. Fitting back into all the currently too small clothes in my closet is worth the hunger!
Holding at 149 lbs. I will skip the ice cream and cake this weekend and really cut down my dinner portions next week. Hoping to drop another lb. by the July long weekend. :
Happy July to everyone. I'm glad the Fourth is over. Not too many loud fireworks this year, so our animals were okay. (I see many posts on FB about lost and found dogs who ran away from firework noise). And no nearby grass fires. Our friend in Bakersfield has half his solar panels out, probably caused by fireworks from his neighbor. You may disagree, but, I wish they were banned except for professional shows.
Dagmar, many cheers for being below 150!!! I was at 130.5 after three hard days of backpacking, but I doubt I can keep my weight down there for long. But I don't give up. (I just procrastinate )

I'm all for having just the professional shows Alice. My pets are not bothered at all by the fireworks but they can be dangerous when amateurs shoot them off in their yards.
Whenever I see the name Bakersfield I think of Mick Jagger singing "The Girl With Far Away Eyes".
Congrats on the loss Alice and also on not giving up. I think that's what I did before, during, and after the move. Time to get it back in gear and start taking off those "cookie" lbs.
