Happy Birthday, Dagmar, and congrats on seeing 149!
I'm sick and have no appetite. Symptoms are upper abdominal pain and fatigue. No fever, nothing else, except I caught a small cold from DH which doesn't help. I hope I can get an appointment tomorrow with the doctor. Down another 2 pounds to 131.5. Good, not good. I'm trying to stay hydrated.

Bill, is spring on the horizon in your neck of the woods?

Can't declare that Spring has arrived in the Boston area, Alice, but I did venture out yesterday without a coat. Felt nearly naked, LOL. Some of the snow is melting from the piles that keep cars from parking right against the curb.

Happy Birthday, Dagmar, a happy scale reading is such a neat Birthday present. Flan sounds just right after dental work.

Back up to 151 lbs. DH has been cooking this week. First time in 30 years. He plates my food, though I have asked him not to do so. I have been staying out of the kitchen and have been eating all of the carbs he is cooking. I have to start leaving food on my plate and changing up the bowl for the fruit we eat later in the evening. Weighing and measuring food is the way I lose weight. I'll explain it to him and I hope he doesn't then say "well if you don't want my cooking I'll stop doing it".

I am cooking this week and I'm down below 150 - 149.6 lbs. :.

I have to get quite insistent next week about plating my own food. And, though i appreciate DH's making fresh bread I'll have to limit myself to one piece with my dinner.

I find it really hard to diet in winter. So much snow still. There will be cherry blossoms in Toronto in a couple of months. Nothing like that here.

Nice to see a 14x number, Dagmar! Slow and steady!

Once I rehydrated from my gallbladder/pancreas episode, I'm back up to 131.5. But that's lower than I was. I'm having something called a HIDA scan of my gallbladder as soon as they can schedule it. Then we'll see if removal is indicated. It's keeping me on track with my diet at least.

Wish I could send some of our record heatwave to you and Bill. Your snow would be gone in no time!

Hope all goes well with the scan Alice and that there is a solution to whatever is wrong.

Bought myself a bathing suit - first one in about 20 years. I'm at the point in my life where I don't care about how I look in it any more. I just want to get back in the water.

There is only one indoor pool here - that members of the YMCA can access. I think the gym I joined has either folded or her reno is way behind so I think I'll have to take the loss on the rest of my membership. I will join the "Y" and start using thier facilities.

I stopped sulking about the gym and did a weight workout at home this morning. Not as good as the machines at the gym but better than doing nothing.

Super Kudos for buying a new bathing suit, Dagmar. I'm told that's an annoying big deal for women. (Said the man who has worn the same style swim suit for decades. Only changing waist size and whatever color was on sale.)

Looks like the fridge part of our refrige/freezer has died. I remained very calm, got a tub and filled it with items I think can be saved, and put that out in the small garden shed. When hubby gets up he will have to get the doors of the big shed open, get the cooler out, and go get ice. I'm going to see if I can get a repair guy to come over today.

We have the floor reno storage bin coming Tuesday. I can NOT cancel this. So delivery of a new fridge, if the old one is broken beyond repair, cannot happen until after May 5th.

I am not panicking. I am NOT panicking.

Ouch! What an unwelcome surprise. Super Congrats for not panicking. Yep, panicking you're not. And thanks for reminding me that fridge contains a 'd' even though refrigerator doesn't. I've spent my whole life trying to remember that.

Fridge guy came yesterday. Very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem. He has to order a new fan motor and then come install it when it arrives. He even gave me a senior's discount on the part -

So it looks like we will be paying about $300 all told for the repair. rather than $2K for a new fridge.

I have the storage container arriving this morning and I think I've puzzled out how we will fit the bigger stuff in it.

There will be chaos for the next 3 weeks but I'm resigned to it. Haven't gone for the cookies yet!

I'm not sure what happened to the post I did yesterday, but it seems to be missing.
Good deal on the fridge, Dagmar! I hope your outside temps are still cool enough to help keep the food fresh. I was going to suggest a short-term rental of a small fridge, but I see it is not necessary!

It was the first Easter in memory when I didn't eat any chocolate. I'm still afraid of certain foods, although my upper GI symptoms are gone at the moment. My HIDA scan for my gallbladder is Friday.

Hope things go as well as possible on Friday Alice.

I am going for my first "official" one-on-one therapy session today. I have met the therapist and I think we quite hit it off. I haven't had much time to reflect on anything but I'm sure I'll be able to talk about a lot of things. Since I don't sleep much I have those wee hours in the morning to let stuff wash over me.

Off to give the dog her pill - glucosamine - and appease my boss Natalie with some of the cream cheese I use for the pill. She has taken to clawing my office chair and loudly meowing until I cave. SIGH.

Weight is steady at 149 lbs.

I'm pleasantly surprised that I didn't resort to binge eating during all the reno prep. Last bit goes today and then we wait for the flooring delivery next week.

It's challenging to adapt to the change in our house due to the reno but I'm handling it without over eating.
