JJ ~ I have 2 of Nicolas' books -- The Notebook and I think the other one is called "Time in a Bottle" (will check on that). I have read them both and would definitely recommend them; my favorite is "The Notebook" as it is a special book based on a true story of love. The second one is good, just different, and a novel. I had these books for some time, but just got around to reading them last winter ...

We are blessed that we have a second-hand shop here that has shelves of romance novels; and I have only read a half dozen so far. I love those period romances that are set in another time/era. They are just so positive and always have a happy ending. Look for the HARLEQUIN HISTORICAL stories. I have one called CHRISTMAS Stories 1991; it has three stories in one book, by authors Lynda Trent, Caryn Cameron, and Deloras Scott.

I also like Thomas Kinkaide; and Richard Paul Evans (I have the book called "The Locket").

to our thread ... oh, your furry baby is sooo cute; she looks just like my little Sweetie (who passed on a while back; she was 15.5 years old; sure miss her though). We had today too, but thankfully, it was cooler here today; then the came out late this afternoon. It was pretty here for a while too; and it is supposed to return shortly ...

Ate well today; had chicken breasts with roasted veggies and tomato/cuke salad for dinner tonight. Just having a quiet weekend at home ... Rosebud

I lived in your area for about a year so am familiar with it. Still visit there regularly. Alot of family lives there. Great to see someone else join this thread. I have about the same weight to lose as you as well. And judging from your pic maybe close to my age as well. Keep us posted on your weightloss and hopefully we can motivate each other!!
Good luck and look forward to hearing from you...

We have lovely weather here today -- mid 70's and sunny with just enuff clouds and a breeze to make it an ideal summer day. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday ...

Just got home from a weekend of camping. We are finally getting some nice, hot weather after a very rainy and cool Spring. We actually turned the a/c in the trailer on for a while yesterday.

Welcome to the newbies!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Canadians! Hello. I'm from Winnipeg and today it was so humid walking outside was like stepping into a bowl of soup.

The weather is now without humidity in Ontario. I am off today and Wednesday then work a 5 day stretch of nights. My handyman is coming today to work on some minor projects.

I have 1 great dane pup that will need a home at the end of August. He looks like a "Marmaduke" if anyone needs a pup.

Yesterday my last meal before going to bed was a 1/4 chicken at 9am then I slept restlessly most of the day then ate roast beef broccoli boilied potatoes and 3 rolls for Supper then at 1030 pm went to bed again.

I am now back to normal until Thursday when I sleep until 5 pm before starting my 12 hr shift.

Hope you all have a great week.

Laura

It's hot here today, but not as humid! I'm lucky my office has A/C but everyone there keeps it so cold I have to bring a sweater most days. brrrr.

I love to read too, but mostly memoirs and some romance/fiction.

Made a great smoothie for breakfast today with 2 cups of strawberries blended with equal parts of water and homeade raspberry lemonade. YUM. For lunch just a simple salad with romaine leaves, cucumber & tomato, and tonight I'm going out for dinner for a friend's birthday. Dinner's not until 8:00pm. I hate eating so late, but not my choice. Glad she picked a healthy restaurant.

Supposed to rain tomorrow & Thursday and clear up for the weekend. Saturday is my bachelorette party so I hope it's nice then!

Well, it seems that all that humidity came up north becuz we had it for the last two days. Our dehumidifier has been going steady and DH had to empty it twice already today. It is finally cooling off outside; not as bad as yesterday was. The afternoon the air was so thick and sticky ... yuck. We had to go out to order some new tires for our car (they had a sale on); I didn't want to leave that nice cool store, but we braved it and came right home.

I had steak and mushroom medley with a salad yesterday for dinner; and today (in the morning), I roasted a whole chicken with lots of veggies and we had that for lunch. For dinner, we ate lighter; I made a chicken burger (no bun) with NF cheese plus a nice mixed salad with 1/4 cup potato salad on top.

They say this weather is supposed to leave us for the rest of the week, so I hope they are right about that. I went out tonight and watered and fed my flowers (great exercise). Had a good on plan day ...

Have a great week ladies ...

Good for you for keeping on track...Today is supposed to be a scorcher again...with storms this afternoon. DH is a builder and the poor guy has to work in this. I truly feel sorry for him. "Working in the sweat of the face" brings a whole new meaning.
Are you up in cottage country? I thought I remember reading somewhere that you were in northern ON and was curious. We cancelled our cottage renntal because we bought a pool instead. I'm hoping to do some aqua fit once it's up and running. Might have to go to the local public pool to get the workout figured out
