BAH

After yesterday I feel like I have eaten an entire salt lick to myself.

I also had those beers after 4 hours in the sun and they made me feel like CRAP.

I am getting so frustrated!!!! I had kind of slacked off for a bit for about a month and managed to gain back like 6 pounds. Last week, I had finally seemed to make the scale move down. This week, I had to get new batteries for the scale and I'm miraculously back up those 3 pounds. So frustrating!!!!

Thinking back to this time last year, I weighed the same amount as I do this morning. Although, I had managed to get as low as 189 at one point, I am back up to 196 and I feel like a whole year has been wasted!!! I have tried upping exercise, upping calories, lowering calories, etc and nothing seems to be working.

If my body's set point is 195...I will seriously hurt someone LOL

I decided to try a lower carb diet for a short while. I'm sort of following a modified Atkins/ South Beach combination...

I like the lower fat aspect of South Beach, but I fully believe that full fat and lower fat cheeses are way better for you than nonfat or diet ones. I'll be eating the cheeses I like (Havarti, fresh mozzarella, feta, blue cheese, boursin), less fatty cuts of meat, and as many green low glycemic level veggies as I want. I'll add back more sugary vegetables (carrots, etc) and fruits first, then whole grains, etc.

We'll see how it goes!

My scale is in serious danger of getting thrown out the window. Up to 175.6 today. REALLY!? I went spinning, hardly broke a sweat even though, again, my legs were on fire.

Tomorrow is my "rest day" - mostly because I'm giving myself a few hours to finish the paper. If it takes less time than I think, I'm going to sit in the sauna at the gym...

Ummm... it just dawned on me that I'm about 14 weeks away from my wedding and haven't even started looking for a dress yet. Or filled out bridal registries. Or ordered tuxes. Or sent invitations...

sh*t sh*t sh*t...

Chele, i am in the EXACT same boat as you... I finally broke through an 8-9 month plateau in October 2009 and finally hit onderland, since then I am a steady 194-197 and I exercise and eat healthy and blah blah blah...so thats almost another 7 months - ughk makes me sick to even "type it out loud" but after alot of thinking, reading, and realizing... WE ARE MAINTAINING and things could be alot worse...no you did not waste a whole year, I imagine you are fitter, as I know I am, we have lost a significant amount of weight...something to be proud of, even though most days we are mad that we aren't losing more.

I will also be an angry beast if my body is "happy" at 195!!!!

I don't really have any advice, since I am in the same boat, BUT I threw away my scale 6 weeks ago... I now only weigh myself once a month (and I used to weigh myself 7-15 times a day) AND its been a huuuuugggeee help! Its so much freedom, You should try it! I mean it took me alot of attempts to rid it though, I would get 2 days in, then 3, then 5, etc...kind of like quitting smoking

We got basically the same stats give 'er take a pound or two... how many cals you eating a day? And what about your exercise? I started zig-zagging and it seems to be working...

Jenny ~ It's comforting knowing that there is someone in the same boat as me!!! Sucks that we're both dealing with it...but you definitely made me feel better I'm trying to stick between 1500-1600 depending on exercise that day. What do your calories look like?

It's true....I am definitely a lot fitter now than I was a year ago and make better choices and all that good stuff. It's just frustrating to see the same set of numbers all the time. I think I might try to stay away from the scale for a bit if I can. My sister is coming home with my nephew for a week....so this will be a perfect time to just put the scale away and hopefully not worry about it and see what comes out of it. Of course, i'm going to worry galore, but I'm going to try my best!!!

Chele - weighing myself was a major addiction and still is a huge fight to not bring my scale or use someone elses, but the more I think about it,actually is what stalled my weight loss. Stressing so much and not taking into consideration that our weight, especially being a female, flucuates SO much! So now - I feel better and my mood has changed, because my day is not ruined every morning by stepping on that dang scale!

I average about 1650 a day, I zig-zag so most days are 1500-1600 and then one day is high like 1900-2100. I also found that since I stopped focusing on the scale, my appetite has suppressed (strange, huh??? but I don't eat near as much as I did when I was constantly weighing myself...I don't understand it either, but it happened and I'm happy about it!) and that its okay if I have some salty foods because I don't have to get on that scale in the morning, if that makes sense??

We'll make it outta the 190's for good sooner than later!!!

I woke up this morning with strept throat and got hit with a flu bug around 5...I feel gross and I'm going to bed! ughk!

To all the ladies here, hope you had a great weekend and cheers to new OP week!
