Good Morning

Im feeling pretty good this morning. I should since I slept until 8am These past few days have been pretty bad eating wise. Just so blah & emotional...stinking hormones! But the good news is I feel good today, mentally and physically.

Yesterday was a 4mile power walk. Today will be a full body, the one i posted about. Its pretty tough but i LOVE that feeling after a weight session. Like my inner furnace is turned up to high and im burning fat i know, sounds crazy. And im pretty sure my weight training is the reason the scale is moving so slow but im gaining muscle. Lovely, glorious..calorie burning muscle so who cares about the scale I'm thinking about putting the darn thing up and only weighing once a month...

Jiggle-your coming up behind Lori and I fast! Your doing awesome!!

annabelle eats, good luck to you!

Lori-I remember that yard sale...so glad you got some good deals at it! Your such a go-getter-bargain-shopper. I get lazy when it comes to yard sales...i guess it depends on what kind of mood im in if whether or not i want to dig for stuff. :eyeroll: BTW-I quit buying the kids sweets and they don't even notice. Now there eating fruit for sweets. Im soooo sneaky. Your the one that got me started looking at my kids diets. I also started making them try veggies, maybe one day i will find some they like

NorthernExposure-Congrats on going to a Mexican restaurant and only going over 100 calories for your day. That is fantastic girl! I can never control myself with the chips and dip. And i completely understand about the muscle gaining issue. I think it just depends on how you want to do it? Some lose weight first then gain muscle, or do both at the same time which can get very frustrating if your a scale watcher And on your new gym!!! Im coming over to workout with you

FruitLady-I think its that HFCS that gets me the most- its suppose to be highly addictive once in your system and i believe it. Holy crap! And its in everything. My DH has gotten use to me reading the ingredients in stuff before i buy them..he rolls his eyes but im saving his life too

ok guys, as you can see im a chatter box today..i will give it a rest for now. Off to eat some breakfast, get my workout done, run down to the grocery store then straighten up the house. Exciting stuff let me tell you

Lori- love your new photo!

misspriss- HFCS is in everything, that could be it.

I'm losing the water weight, 3 lbs of it yesterday. Still have more to go. I had some candy today, not too bad though. I ended up w/ 2065 cal. for the day, that candy adds up fast. Now I'm gonna rake some leaves to burn some of that sugar off. I hope the candy didn't stall my weight loss, it wasn't worth it if it does.

I got a treadmill today!!! It is so awesome. It has a weight lifting bench under it. So you lift up the part you walk/run on and the bench comes down. It also has small weights and I can get some bigger ones later. It has some upper body, arm and ab workouts posted when you let the bench down. I'm so stoked about this thing and it was only $50. I have wanted a treadmill for a long time and now I have it!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's on an cracking now!

Lori - I was thinking about you and your garage sales so I went to the grocery store and told my husband I wanted to go to the garage sales we passed on the way home. Which is where I found my treadmill!!
Misspriss - Thank you for the kind words. I get excited when I come on here and see that you have posted because you are usually talking about those intense workouts.
Fruitlady - Glad to hear the water weight is coming off!!
Northern - Have you started enjoying your home gym yet? I was so tickled when you said you weren't doing you Wii Fit in front of your BIL...that was funny. When you do the Zumba class let me know how much fun you have!!

HAHAHAHA My husband saw me on 3fc and said I bet I know what you are doing...I said what..he said telling everyone about your treadmill...I said YYYYYYYYYEEEEEESSSSS!!!!! It feels like Christmas in September.

Hey ladies!

lori Your pictures continue to inspire me, you look so amazing and healthy!

Just checking in quickly - I thought I already had but I'm losing track of things on here, which is frustrating!

Have been on track with calories aside from one day where I went a little higher than my lower limit and hadn't exercised. I was still within upper limit, but I didn't exercise that day so I felt a bit bad about it. It was planned though so I guess it's ok! And the extra calories came from a yoghurt and some peaches because my boyfriend was eating cheesecake and I figured if I didn't eat something I'd cave and eat that, so yoghurt and peaches is far better than cheesecake!

I'm feeling proud of my exercise efforts and really hoping for a drop in the scale soon. I most likely won't make my birthday weight goal, which means I probably won't make the Columbus Day one either. But if I keep doing the right things, then how can I not lose weight? Right?!

Well, my WI wasn't exaclty what I had hoped it would be. Only down .4 lbs! I'm hoping it's just "sodium rebound" from the fast food we had yesterday (Subway for lunch and grilled chicken from KFC for dinner.) I stayed within my calories, but we just had a lot more running around to do than I had expected and I wasn't planning on two meals out...but that's life, I guess! Maybe I'll do an unofficial WI on Tuesday or so after eating clean for a couple days and see if that makes a difference.

Jiggle: Congrats on the new exercise equipment! I didn't get a chance to use my new gym yesterday, but I am going to play around with it today. There are so many different exercises you can do on it (and BIL lost the manual that came with it), I guess I will just kind of try eveything

Rainbow: I know how you feel! I'm not sure I'll be making my Columbus Day goal either, but all we can do is get as close as we can. Sometimes I set a goal and make it WAY early, other times it's a struggle just to lose a few pounds. Our bodies just aren't the predictable machines we wish they were sometimes! Oh, and October b-days rule! Mine is on the 27th

Everyone else: Enjoy your Sunday! Weekends just go by WAY too fast, don't they!?

Rainbow - Don't worry, it's a lifestyle change not a race. Even though we set goals for progress we still have to keep focus on LIFESTYLE!! You keep doing what you're doing and the weight will come off. Don't get discouraged.
Northern - Have you been drinking lots of water. I know that's what I do if I have a salt overload from eating out.
Misspriss - I was thinking about your workouts this morning so I put it in today. I plan to do a little lifting this evening to work on these arm flaps.

I tried my treadmill out this morning and I will have to get used to it because running on it feels heavy compared to the ones at work. But I had a great workout and I did the Slim in 6 "Start It Up" workout. I'm excited because I can see my goal getting closer to me. I want to be at my size 10 goal by the first of the year.

Thanks for the encouragement, NorthernExposure and jiggle. I know that not meeting a goal isn't the end of the world because we can't predict the loss, and I also know it's a lifestyle..but it's frustrating to have the loss slowed down so much! I'm not sure if it may even have stopped...I really hope not, I haven't strayed too far from the path and even those timess have been planned and accounted for and mostly within calories.

Urgh. I just really wanted to buy a new dress for my birthday but it seems like I'm wasting money on clothes now since I really want them to not fit me.

Hey Chicks,

This weekend was pretty good eating wise. Today DH and I went to Ross by ourselves since the kids are at school and Oh...how I LOVE that store. I never have any problems finding things there, lol. So i bought a pair of Angel jeans and i absolutely love how they fit.( Im glad nobody saw me smiling at my self in the mirror like a goofball ), all the size 10's I grabbed i could wear! Im so proud of myself. I also got a really cute Reebok shirt and a new bra. It was so nice to actually like what i was looking at in the mirrorIf i can remember i will post a pic later of it!

So, with all that said. Today was a rest day as far as workouts go, but my black lab wasn't hearing all that so i walked her for 45mins(about 3miles) and it was so cool out this morning. Felt great. now ive got to clean up a bit before the kiddies get home.

rainbowstripe- I'm sure your body is just trying to play catch up right now....you will more than likely get a whoosh on your next weigh in! Keep up the good work

Jiggle-Im so excited for you and your new treadmill. Yay! How did you like the slim in 6 workout? I've got friends who love them.

Notheren-Ugh on the sodium! I bet if you drank a lot of water today your scale will be down tomorrow!! water weight stinks.

Lori-My goodness a new weight, you just keep going...like the energizer bunny! that FABULOUS! So proud of you and love ya too!!! BTW-not sure if you saw the reply to your daughters pic but she looks GREAT!!! wtg to her!!!

HELLO to everyone I missed.

Checking in.. so glad to read all the ups people have been having.

The progress~

complete week 6 of C25K ~ ran wk5D1 today, ahead of schedule!

break into the 160's ~ 176.4, not doing so well with that

make a dinner menu plan for at least 4 times a week ~ I'm just eating the same 4 things for dinner, does that count?

Zumba every Saturday ~ missed last week because of the ex but will make up on Wednesday

Hello to everyone!

I got my DH to measure me and im down. So happy I started measuring instead of putting all my hope in that darn, evil scale!!!

9/12/2010-Measurements

arm-10 1/2
thigh-21 3/4
Calve-15 1/2
Waist-35 1/2
Hips-39 1/2
Weight-171

Today
arm-11
thigh-20 1/2
Calve-16
Waist-34 1/2
hips- 38 3/4
Chest-39
Weight: 173.6

Its it crazy how you can go UP in weight but go DOWN in size? I started measuring my chest this month, should have been doing it all along

We went shopping and i bought a smaller pair of jeans! So exciting

Anyways...I power walked this morning with my big black bear of a dog. Lord help me if she see's a squirrel or a cat because she turns into this stalking predator, she's strong and i can't hardly hold her back!

Priss: looks like you're building up some muscle, girl! WTG! Now that I've started some weight training, I might look into doing measurments too...especially if I see a stall on the scale.

I'm a little sore today from playing with my new home gym on Sunday. Definitely had to give the arms a break today! I did do 20 minutes on the elliptical and a 10 minute ab workout video today. Right now my plan is to do weights/yoga every other day alternating with cardio/abs. Minimum 5 days a week, but shooting for 6. I usually take Fridays "off" just for a mental/physical break.

I have a long day tomorrow at work, but am thinking of doing my unoffical WI in the morning if I'm up early enough (I weigh on my wii Fit, so it takes a little doing.) I have been trying to drink my water to flush out the sodium, but I'm not always the best water drinker as I hate having to the bathroom every 5 mins! (I have a small bladder to begin with, lol...sorry if that's TMI!)

Anyway, another Monday done! Hope everyone's week is going well!
