Talking

Hi, all!

Life has been a blur for the last week and I apologize for missing the events here!

Welcome, sherpamelissa!! These gals really took me in and have been incredibly kind and helpful -- I know you'll fit right in!

Silence, congrats on the new baby!! She is just beautiful!!

Hm. Quick meals. One of my favorites is thin spaghetti with low-sugar, low fat spaghetti sauce. Takes about 12 minutes total (gotta wait for the water to boil!) If you're cooking angel hair pasta, it takes even less time. Filling for me and very tasty.

I chop veggies twice a week for omelets, salads, and such. It sure saves time and tends to keep me out of the "instant gratification" foods.

I also can reheat sticky rice (add a little water and nuke) to combine with beans and salsa -- fast, easy, filling.

I don't eat proteins and carbs together (gives me awful heartburn and indigestion when I do) so you can always add protein to a meal.

I'll post more later. I am grateful every day for you gals!!

Thank you all

I started trying to get a little more serious yesterday. My two goals at the moment are to drink more water and less sweetened drinks and to stick to only 5 meals/snacks per day. If I can get into those habits, then I'll start adding more goals. Eventually I should get somewhere right?

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Whew!!! Just got my costume finished a little while ago (for a performance I have tomorrow out of town!!!) Now I can relax a little.

I plan on spending the rest of the day doing things around the house, getting my strength training in, and then taking a little swim with the kids. I have to go to bed early tonight-Ihave to get up around 5:30am to get ready, and then travel the 2+ hour drive to the seminar.

I have been doing well the past couple of days...feeling pretty good about things.

Silence-you are doing well if you can even make the time to be here with three little girls-and the youngest only being a few weeks old! You are doing great!!!!!!!!!!! Keep on making small little doable changes to your lifestyle, and you will start seeing the numbers ease down!

The weather sure has been hot and that makes for it easy to get my water intake in for each day. Yesterday morning I stopped in for a bagel didn't make my breakfast which is unusal. But I asked for a bagel w/lite c.c. . I had to scrap so much off just to find the bagel. I guess that taught me a lesson if I stop again to at least order it on the side. Must of been the c.c. queen making that one!
I purchased my new car this week and now next week can get back to the gym again. I have been swimming and walking but miss my routine at the gym. Its hard when you using someone elses car and looking to buy one. It is not only expensive but stressful for sure. I do like it though and hope I have great luck with this one. Its the first new one for me since 1986. I bought used and that was a mistake and I put so much into it. Well have a great weekend everyone and keep up your good work. I am going to try to really concentrate on healthy eating and exercise this weekend.

Looks like we have all been busy...We are all moved into our new building and is it ever nice...I have an awesome office. Two big windows, a huge desk, and it is decorated beautifully! I may never go home!

Saturday was my weigh in day and I was down 2.4#- It must have been all the work of the move because my eating habits were awful last week..but hey, I'll take it any way I can!

This week I am concentrating on eating more fruits and drinking more water.

Best of luck to everyone.

Morning everyone!!! I have been SOOOOOOO busy! The workshop and performance went well Saturday. Lat night I had a rehearsal as well, because tomorrow morning a few of us from the troupe are going to be doing a performance and mini-class for the United Way at 9am.
Today I am going to be doing things here around the house, and try to catch up on some things.

Yesterday morning I went to Fort Wayne (nearest large city) with both of my SIL's and one of their friends for wedding shopping. My youngest SIL is getting married in a year (next June) and we have started the organizing!!! We have a date, the color scheme, and a location. She is starting to get the ideas of how she wants things...so we started looking around for deals. Her color scheme is going to be purple and silver-not one shade of purple, but everything from the lightest lavendar to a deep purple-which will be really nice with the flowers, etc. all blended together.
We found some great bridal shower party supplies on clearance that were in a lavendar print with cala lilies-really pretty. They even had a few serving dishes and party games included in the clearance stuff. She was excited that we found the stuff so cheap in her colors.
We went to the bridal shop for all of us to try on dresses. She is going to have us all in the same color-but we are free to choose what dress style that suits our style and figure-rather than a group of carbon copied dresses that flatter NOONE.
The funny thing about it all-and Holly, I am sure that you can understand this one-is that with most of my weight being in my buns, hips, and legs-I wear a 14 usually in most jeans, pants, and dresses. I grabbed about 5 different lavendar dresses and went to the fitting room-and to my surprise the assistant had to go get them for me in a size 12. I know it is because the dresses are usually a-line, or poufy through the hips and legs...so basically the dresses are going by your arms/chest/waist and not the lower body-BUT, it was still nice to be able to put on something that says a 12 and not a 14, and have it FIT. Now, when I can wear a 12 in PANTS I will be really happy.

Hello everyone! sorry I've been MIA

first, Carol, glad to see your real name...I was always mis-typing "casceme" j/k Congrats on your new car!

aphil, way kewl to have those size 12 dresses fit! and you're on your way to the pants

Christine, welcome back!! and congrats on your new baby girl! haven't seen the pics yet, but will try to soon.

hello to everyone else, newbies, hi! whoever posted the quick chicken parm recipe, thanks for the explicit directions, that sounds awesome!

Have been busy with work, and riding for fun. We did a quick trip to Lake George, NY for Americade last Friday. Fantastic ride there. Hotter than heck when we got there but at least it wasn't raining! and I wore my "****'s Cupcakes" spaghetti strap tank It's funny...I'm not self-conscious about my arms when I wear a tank or something sleeveless, but I am when I wear a plain t-shirt? maybe it's the illusion of unbroken length of arm that makes them seem more slender, dunno.

don't like to blab much about my home front stuff, but I seem to be treated a little better, consistently. Well, it's been that way for about 2 weeks. But I'll take it! A friend suggested that he be checked for depression or just general health issues. That would be fantastic, if he would only get to a doctor (shrug)

Ladies, I have been burning up the roads with my 'cycle Since I started in late March, have done over 4000 miles

What a CHANGE in weather today!! since Friday, we have been in high 80's, almost 90, with HIGH humidity...and today, at 3:30 in the afternoon, it is 58!!!

Oh! we're going to Laconia Bike Rally this weekend!! got an invite from friends who have family/house there. We went last year, it was great! Hope we have as much fun. We went early last year, but it's going to be CROWDED this last weekend. Somewhere around 200,000 bikers I think, if not more? FUN!

Holly glad to hear from you! Your such a busy lady and having so much fun. Maybe the change in the hubby is your spending some extra time together and he is realizing how great of a person your are! Good to hear that info! Isn't Lake George a neat place great ride I bet. I went there 2 years a go for the big garage sale in Warnersburg. It was lots of fun.
The new car is running great and not too bad on gas. Thats a real good thing being I put on a lot of miles just getting to work and back. I also have to drive to see clients so it sure is nice to have air too!
The diets been a bit shaky this week. I think its just a little of a busy schedule and extra stress. I really needed to try and count calories today! 1330 and I am off to have a little bowl of fresh picked strawberries! Hope everyone is having a good week.

Morning everyone!

Holly-I am so glad to hear that you are having so much fun riding!!! Your Cupcakes tank sounds GREAT!!!! I found a place where I can get regular everyday clothing, hats, etc. that say "Bellydance" or "Bellydancer" on them...I may have to snag a couple!

I am so glad to hear about things being a little better at home the past couple of weeks!!! Even though it feels like you haven't, you really HAVE been wonderfully patient with him.

We performed yesterday morning for the United Way in our area. It was really fun. Jason also has a goo 35 minute drive home from work, and there is a large farm on his way home. They have a little farmers market type of stand near the road, and sell there whatever is currently in season. I usually drive over there to get really good strawberries in the summer, and he surprised me and stopped and got me a container yesterday after work. I love berries from the local farmers because they are ALL red and ALL ripe. When you get them from the store sometimes the ones on top are, but you get a lot of "half done" ones at the bottom.

I hope everyone is doing well!!!! Have a great day!

Hi ladies

It has been a while but I am here and doing fine. I have kinda stayed right at the same weight for the last two weeks! But I feel like I am going to kick it into high gear now. It had been so hot this last week and now is a little cooler. I am going to Miane on June 30 so I want to drop a few more pounds by then. I can not wait. It has been 3 years since I have been home to Miane. Lori and I will go wedding shopping with out the kiddies!!

Holly We finally got a bike....It is not what he wanted but it is new, a HD and nice. He just couldn't afford the springer he wanted. The good news is this bike will be mine later when he does go up to the springer... I want to learn to ride and have my own bike, much funner than riding on the back! Glad to hear you have been getting out to ride. I will try to put up a picture

Amy still sewing ..... sounds like you are doing great!

Hi every one...LOTS a newbies here lately! Welcome

Boy I had been getting a little lazy with my workouts but this week I am eating even better and am getting in more work outs. Got to look good in Maine on that beach

Have a great weekend and keep focused! Don't let summer vacations or the summer cookouts get you off track.

Amie

I made up this salad after having one like it out at a fancy place at lunch. Try it....It is so good.

bowl of mixed greens (I used a organic blend with baby spinach, and a dark
purple lettuce?)
diced tomatoe
some red onion
died cantalope
lices of straberries
some grapes
roasted pecans (I used some smoke almonds I had)
4 oz grilled chinken
Raseberry Vinergrett

These things go so well together...Yummy with the sweet fruit, crunchy nuts and salad blend.

Oh, Amie, CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm afraid I can't identify what model that is...dish! and how big? (cc's) It's got some n-i-c-e chrome!

You'll have to join our "Chicks on Motorcycles" thread, over in Miscellaneous Clubs!!

aphil, thank you for saying I'm patient - I guess you could call it that, or "I don't know what the heck else to do"

that was a nice surprise to get the fully-ripe, local berries...yum! and so good for us.

and thanks for that salad suggestion, Amie...sounds really good, contrasts of sweet/crunch/etc.

We're still not sure if we're leaving tomorrow afternoon or Saturday morning for Laconia. Either way, the weather is cloudy, chance of showers, and COOL - we sure won't be sweltering as we're waiting in line with thousands of other bikers

Hello everybody,
I finally have my notebook back after over 3 weeks. It came Wed but I couldn't find the power cord and went thought hoops until I finally last resort called CompUSA who said it was shipped in the same box as the repaired computer!!!! Duh.

Have been off track- gained I cant stand it 3 or maybe even 4 lbs. I can't do this without support. Hope I can do it WITH support.

So, I'm working at getting back on track. And need to change my goal. I'd like to see 205 by the time we go to Atlanta 6/30.

Hope you're all great, I have a lot of reading to catch up on after the weekend.

To all newbies - welcome to a great and loving forum.

This has been a pretty good week for me. I lost three pounds! I was PMS last week though, so I think even if it is TOM the bloating has gone down or something. I now have 37lbs to goal. That doesn't sound so bad! I really contribute upping the loss to eating a ton of berries. I used to have a small dish of ice cream or other sweet snack at 9pm or so every night. The last two weeks I have been mixing strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries with some low fat Cool Whip in my ice cream bowl. I think it is making a big difference. Have a great weekend!
