Elyse glad your able to still ck in while your away! Your right on the ball with the feeling of a loss of wt. I notice my diamond twirling around a bit more. My arms a bit leaner and shirts that show a bit of lean tone. I know that if I stick to the right choices and think about what is going in I can eat a lot with 1400 - 1500 calories. Vixen I saw on another site how much you eat for your calories you really make some great choices. I exercise but you really exercise. Nice to have you on this site! Welcome!
I found myself eatting some brownies last night so after awhile I took the leftovers down to the grandkids. The run around so much they need those goodies. I am sure their mom loved me for that choc. before bedtime. Anyways if there in the house I can be so tempted to eat them. If I have them out of site it helps but sometimes not!
Have a great day everyone!

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing! I have a LOT going on this week getting ready for the weekend, and the workshop/performance Saturday.

Lisi-great job on noticing the benefits-such as an easier time taking care of your feet. I have noticed over the past 3 years so many benefits-I'll name just a few:

~My fitness level has skyrocketed! When I was 211 pounds I remember getting really out of breath walking around all day pushing Raiden's baby stroller at the zoo. Last year we went (2 years later) and I walked around all day just fine! We are going again next month, and I am looking forward to it.
~I used to have a lot of "tummy troubles" with many stomachaches, trips to the bathroom-but now it is hardly a problem at all with a better diet and exercise.
~It is much easier shaving in the tub/shower.

Hi everyone!

Milly, welcome! My starting weight was 176, what a co-ink-ee-dink and welcome Vegan Vixen, I also like that name

Amie, Yay to that pesky water pound that is gone I FELT for you on that day you described getting home so late, with the accident and all...with your outdoor work, I think it's ok to shave 5 or 10 minutes off when you absolutely HAVE to. You're doing fine!!!

Lori, I am so sorry about your weather!!! we haven't had the best either, but I know I've seen on the news about "the weather in Maine" and bleh!!! Here, even though we had a forecast for a solid WEEK of clouds and possible rain, there have been a couple of clearing spots here and there, enough to at least keep us from tearing our hair out

No, I haven't seen my dorky delivery guy he's nice, but NOTHING that's even intesting to me to try to flirt with how awful I am but Yes, I still like that he likes me

Hi Lisi! wow, you were running around after that heart surgery? amazing! congrats again on your on-going losses, and your increased strength, and for the looseness in rings, clothes, etc! I also was thrilled at feeling my rings twirling more, especially when I was cold...in fact, had to reverse the wearing order of some to keep 'em on. Once I flicked my hand to get rid of some cold water and one flew off!

hi cacmse, the camping with a pop up does sound like fun, if there is nice weather! I will hope for that for you, also

Hello aphil! you bundle of energy you Have you still not weighed yourself in a long time? what self-control!!

I measured and didn't see anything to write home about, but at least didn't gain. and Maybe, just maybe, my calves were smaller, OH JOY!!!

We have a big motorcycle ride this Sunday; I do have to work but can do alot of prep on Saturday, and then bust out about noon on Sunday. There were over 400 bikes last year. The forecast is cloudy, low 60's, with a chance of showers...we will still ride even with a passing shower. Won't be as nice, but still good. This will be an escorted ride, which means we roll right though intersections and stop lights, and we have the right of way. Sorry, car-drivers! We usually just get lots of smiles and waves. It's for MIA awareness.

OH!! gotta tell ya. Went to my fave thrift store...was at first striking out with all the jeans I was trying on...then found a pair of Gap boot-cut, with button-fly, size 8, and they fit! they are snug, but not to the point of having that unattractive crease under the butt I love to walk in them and NOT feel thighs touching...!!! I'll probably get another lecture at work (remember me complaining about that, almost 3 years ago!!) about wearing tight pants, but &%$@#!*%^$# to that! and they are in GREAT condition, not any wear showing anywhere, for $2.00 Woo-hoo!

Thanks for the welcome! I decided before I start my program I am going to define my goal and plan how I am going to achieve it. I am relying on this group for accountabilty...I hope that's OK!

My goal is:

1 To lose 56lbs, with at least 28lbs gone by Christmas.

I plan to achieve this by:

1 Doing 30 minutes of cardio, 6 days per week. 30 minutes of strength training 2 days per week.

2 Putting a stop to emotional eating. I will think about what I am about to eat and why.

3 Sticking to my daily 1500 calorie allowance. Keeping a daily food/exercise journal.

4 Checking in with this group on a regular basis to report my progress, and offer support to others.

I will check in again tomorrow, have a wonderful day everyone !

Hey everyone! It of course has been a while since I have posted. I average about once a month...pathetic I know First off , everyone seems to be doing well! Millie that really sounds like a great plan! I know that one thing that really helped me was to space my meals out to every 2-3 hours (so about 5-6 meals a day). Its difficult at first but once you get used to it, your energy will increase. I also increased my protien intake. That really seemed to help me from getting hungry all the time. My co-workers really gave me a hard time when I was really losing because all they saw me do was eat. They never really got what I was doing.

Okay its confession time for me. Why do I feel the need to get on both knees to say forgive me 3FC for I have sinned I have not only fallen off the wagon but I think it backed over me a couple of times as well. Before our vacation in March I had gotten down to 139. As of this morning I am up to 153. Now... I know that about 5 of that is water weight because due to the holiday weekend hubby and I have definitely eaten and drank way more alcoholic beverage than usual.....but as for the other 9 pounds I have no excuse. On a good note I am still continuing to excercise, my eating has just been horrible. So as of today I am re-dedicating myself on the public forum. I have already gone to the store and bought all of the necessities. I will have about 5 1/2 weeks off this summer from my job and I plan on refocusing to meet my ultimate goal in October (our 5 year anniversary). My first goal is to hit 130 by August (when I go back to work and have to give a presentation to about 150 people...yuck!). My husband and I follow the Body for Life workout schedule but I am planning on upping my cardio during my time off. I am going to get in an extra session by walking in my neighborhood each morning. It is full of challenging hills so it is a major workout of 3 hilly miles. Wish me luck. Everyone have a great day. My first goal is to actually post again tomorrow and report my success for the day. Have a good one everybody!

Hi everyone,

The workshop and show this weekend was fabulous!! The funniest part was at the end of it when some guy in the audience said "whoa." Right at the end of our piece-where we all end up pretty contorted.

I am working on finishing up the new troupe tops this week...as I have another job in the works!!! I recieved an email when I returned for another costume job-I have been asked to make an "Elektra" costume for someone to wear to a sci-fi convention in 3 months. (The Elektra movie costume with Jennifer Garner-not the comic book version) It is a very sexy red corset style costume-with a leather belt and the works!! Holly-you'd love it! It is actually very, very detailed the more I look at it. I cold get away with making a simple red corset, stretchy pants, and arm wraps...but I think I am going to go the extra mile for the fun of it-and really put in as much of the embroidery details, etchings, and different things I am seeing from the pictures. I want her to look "GOOD".

Holly-no I haven't weighed in. Kinda scared too. I am thinking of weighing in mid July-because it will be my 3 year anniversary from my highest weight of 211 pounds. (Gotta check the exact date) So for some reason I am thinking of waiting and doing it then for the whole anniversary thing-and then writing a big 4 page post on my experiences over the last 3 years.

I have some wonderful news though...Jason signed up for a "stop smoking" class and has went a few times. He has his third class today after work. The wonderful news is that he had been "weaning" down the cigarettes for about a week-but has not smoked a cigarette in 3 days. The class is really cool-they gave him a month chart-and he has 3 stickers on it now. He will officially be a non-smoker when he finishes out the month. The workbooks and such that go with the class are great-there is a certificate when he finishes the month...and they use the "reward" system. I am going to get him some rewards at the end of his successful month. He is wanting to take up exercising-especially running (I about fell over ) and he is thinking of a nice pair of running shoes as his reward!

We took a family walk yesterday-and we all walked 2 miles together. Raiden was in his wagon for most of it, but Jasmine (who is 6) walked the entire 2 miles!! I was proud of her stamina.

I have been a busy bee-sewing all day. We have a show next weekend and another seminar to get ready for-so the tops need to be done soon. I have a rehearsal for that same show tonight that will last 90 minutes.

I am going to do strength training today, and then have my dancing tonight-so my exercise for the day is mapped out already.

Hi Ladies,

Well things are going good here, work has finally picked up. The rain has finally left us and is not expected back for a while so we have decided to let the animals go that we had gathered, tear the ark apart and use the wood to make a bonfire and let the kids make s'mores and toast marshmallows You all just have no idea how happy everyone has been this week knowing that there is no rain in the forcast and we are looking ahead to upper 70's and sunny this coming weekend, YAY!!!

I have been doing good on eating, excersise could be better but I have been real busy in the evenings so really no time (if I want to sleep to), I have been getting in like 3-4 days a week though, more towards the 3 but thats ok, I have lost the 2 lbs I had gained back, so Im happy about that!

This weekend is all planned out, hehe, DS (my 6 yr old) has a b-day pool party to go to Saturday, and is so excited, and then we are going hiking and Sunday we are going hiking again and having a picnic and then my oldest son has a baseball game at 6! I was so proud of him and his team, they finally got in there game this past Monday and they won 8-4 And they defeated the "undefeated champs" of last season, 1st game of the season, what a way to start out!!

Well hope you all have a OP week and weekend!

Lori

Hi gang,
I'm at the library checking in .......my laptop is in for repairs . Withdrawal.
Thanks for all the wonderful replies.

I'm back in Savannah and having a tough time - but maintaining. Bad at night again. But back to my long walking - not today though. Brought back a couple of old Simmons tapes for rainy weather . I'm at 209 now - and I think I was even lower for a day. But I'm determined to not go back over the 210 at this point, and keep on a down track.

This support group is so great.
Everybody keep going.

Aphil - what a great project. It will be SOME accomplishment. I'm so happy to hear about the smoking cessation.

Jacklin, don't neglect your favorite support group. It will help.

Millie - kudos for the plan. Emotional eating is a toughie. Good choices help me reduce cravings and eat a lot.

Eliptical Lori - don't stop

VM - when are you riding down here?

Amie- you're right on track

Hi Everyone...I've been reading and catching up with y'all. I've been so busy with work, we are moving the probation offices into two locations, so I will now have two new offices and have to split my time between them-it's alot of work moving, but it is nice to clean things out.

Today I am down 3# and my size 12's are loose! I guess moving is great exercise...WOW, what a feeling!

Aphil, I hope your hubby has success with the smoking classes, if he is determined to quit that is half the battle (and I hope you can live with him during this time)

Have a good week all....I am four pounds from goal!

I have been posting for about a month now but I didn't know that calorie counters were here. Can I just get an "AMEN" for how much easier it is to count calories and exercise than it is to be on some kind of restrictive diet. I have probably done almost every diet out there and what I am doing now (I call it the "NAN PLAN") is so much easier and much more satisfying There is nothing that I "CAN'T" have It is all about moderation!! With other "diets" that I have tried, I always felt deprived of something and it seemed to get harder and harder to follow. Following the Nan Plan, (my nickname is Nan) it seems like it only gets easier and easier. And I can't believe I am going to say this...I LOVE to exercise!!! I look forward to it every morning!! Sorry for rambling. It is so great to see that there are so many people doing it the old fashioned way and that it looks like it is working for all of us!! Great job everyone and it is a pleasure to meet ALL of you!
