Hi ladies,

I am tired. Really. Work all day and then come home and I do want to spend some time with Mom so instead of my quiet time, we've been doing stuff. We are stuck in a weather pattern here where it's grey and about to rain but doesn't so it's reeking havoc on the sinuses and headaches. Got a doozer of one now. I enjoyed last week much better when it was sunny and I was off

Quickies -
Congrats Annie on the inches lost at Curves - shows it's working! Thanks for the cinnamon tips - I heard that was really good for you.

Shad - isn't that the truth about cleaning up after the Indians. I wonder when they will get wise but I think we've turned a corner we will never revisit again.

Michelle - hope the hip is doing better. I used to get some stretching in during the morning shower when things are looser and it became a habit so I never forgot to do it. The ultrasound should help. I know it's bugging you to not be able to exercise.

Mel my buddy - take care of those eyes. Let's run away - Mom will take care of us

Ceejay - you seem to be getting all the rain that's evading us.

Patty, Jolly

That's it for me right now. Gotta run.

I'm sure happy it's Thursday!

Since I couldn't go to the gym last night, I helped DH with some of the Springtime maintenance on the boat. He's got a little more to do yet, but hopefully we'll be all good to go for fishing this weekend. Tonight and tomorrow, I'll probably do website stuff after work.

Annie - Yes, you ladies were correct. I should've taken it a bit easier. I thought I was taking it easier, but not easy enough, I guess. Congrats on the one month anniversary to Curves, and especially for the 8.5 inches lost! That's wonderful! Thanks for all that good info about the honey and cinnamon. I'm going to save that on my computer and go stock up on both ingredients. I wonder how it tastes in hot water.

Shad - I'm glad you got a laugh from my sore backside! I checked with the PT about yoga, and she said emphatically NO, at least not for the first week. I'm not allowed to do ANYTHING other than the few stretches she told me to do. When I'm back to exercising regularly and as soon as the PT says it's okay, I'm going to incorporate yoga and flexibility/balance stuff into my workouts. I love going to classes at the gym....or even just going to the gym. I'm not good at exercising at home....I can always find something else at home to take priority over exercising. Of course now that I can't exercise for a week, I can get the other priorities done....or just relax and watch TV!

Mel - I'm going to be a good girl and do only what the doc and the PT say I can do. The PT's orders are much more strict than the doc's. Thanks for the suggestion for finding a sit down job. I've got lots of papers (as in clutter) to go through. I hope your conversation with the boss man goes well.

Happy - I'm glad that you're spending time with Mom. Can you think of low key, quiet time activities to do with Mom? My DMIL loves to play cards and work puzzles...so we do that when we want a low key afternoon or evening. I hope your sinus headache goes away soon! Can you describe the stretching you do in the shower for your hip? The stretches they've shown me would be dangerous in a wet slippery tub!

A big wave to Ceejay, Patty, Jolly and everyone else!

Love and hugs,

Michelle - you are right - I forgot that you are doing hip stretches which indeed would be unsafe even in a walk in shower - like crossing one foot over the other in a modified plie (sp?) I was thinking about the hamstring and foot stretches. Sorry...

MICHELLE...THANKS FOR THE GOOD THOUGHTS AND I AM GLAD YOU WILL TAKIE THE PT'S ADVICE. I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU ALL DAY! NOW GO CLEAN OUT THAT PAPER CLUTTER!!! AND WATCH ALL THE BENDING CLEANING THE BOAT

I CAME BACK WITH GOOD NEWS I HOPE. I WENT DOWN TO AWAIT THE ARRIVAL OF THE MIGHTY BOSSMAN AND SOMEONE ELSE OF YET EVEN MORE POWER WALKED IN THE DOOR AND RIGHT OVER TO ME. WE WENT OUTSIDE AND ONE HAND WASHED THE OTHER. I HAD SOME INFO FOR HIM THAT HE DESPERATELY NEEDED AND IN RETURN HE HAS PUT HIS "MAN" ON THE JOB OF LOCATING PARTS FOR MY OLD WHEELCHAIR AND A GOVT OUTLET THAT WILL FOOT THE BILL OR THE TOWN WILL THEMSELVES SOMEHOW. HE SAID THERE WILL BE LOTS OF OF PAPERWORK AND I NEED PATIENCE BUT HE CAN DELIVER OR HE'LL PAY FOR IT HIMSELF. BECAUSE THIS TOOK UP ALL OUR ALLOTTED TIME, I COULDN'T TALK TO THE BOSSMAN. BUT NOT TO FEAR...THIS MAN IS GOING TO OUT HIS FOOT DOWN AT THE RIDICULOUS THINGS THIS PLACE AND THE TOWN HAS BEEN ASKING ME TO DO...AND HE SAID NOT JUST SINCE JIMMY HAS GONE BUT FOR THE LAST 20+ YEARS. EVERYTIME I WENT TO SAY SOMETHING HE CUT ME OFF AND TOLD ME THAT EVERYONE KNOWS JUST HOW MUCH I HAVE DONE AND THEY'VE ALL WORN BLINDERS. THEY WERE ALWAYS JUST HAPPY THE CRAP WAS GETTING TAKEN CARE OF AND NO ONE WAS "BOTHERED"...EXCEPT OF COURSE ME. HE SAID THINGS I HAVE NEVER HEARD BEFORE AND THINGS I NEVER KNEW ANYONE ELSE WAS AWARE OF. THEN HE TOLD ME THE ENTIRE TOWN KNOWS WHO I AM. IT WAS A LITTLE SHOCKING AND THERE WAS OF COURSE A GOOD FEELING THAT I HAVEN'T GONE UNNOTICED...HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE. LOVELY CONVO FOR THE EGO. I FEEL LIKE I COULD MOVE THE WORLD BY MYSELF TONITE....BUT I WON'T TELL ANYONE THAT LEST THEY ASK ME TO DO IT!!!
I JUST HAD TO COME HERE AND SHARE THIS WITH MY WORLDLY SISTERS....WHO ELSE WOULD BE AS HAPPY FOR ME?

Woohoo for Mel - the big Kahurangi

I'll be back later to change the thread. I'm flying out to Brisbane tonight for some cat cuddling and warmth and gardening. I'll check it all out at the airport.

Meantime - happy get in there with your Mum, Michelle - sit down, shut up and just hang on. Annie - loved the stories of the honey and cinnamon but have a few issues with a couple of them. And generally speaking it's not the honey cr*p that you lot pick up off the supermarket shelf. It's unprocessed stuff with the bits in it and the best variety is ActiveX or Bee-vital and that is not cheap. But then if it helps the arthritis or whatever, what is cost???
