It's taken me nearly two years to lose just shy of 49 pounds (according to the scale this morning, anyway). I'm not even halfway to goal, and sometimes it feels like I'm walking through quicksand. I think we've all felt this way a few times along the journey. We look in the mirror and think, "What good is this doing? I don't see a difference."
Well, I work out with my sister, and last night we got on that very subject somehow. So after working out my sister decided that she was going to take some progress pictures of me. And I've been wanting new progress pictures that I didn't take in the mirror myself, so I said okay. I didn't realize she was going to make a collage with a bunch of pictures of me at my high weight, but she did, and she e-mailed it to me this morning, so I figured I'd share it with you.
And you know, that is an amazing difference! I really thought I hadn't made much progress at all, but I've been so wrong. I am sad for that miserable-looking fat girl, but I'm happy to be moving on from that to a happier, more confident version of myself.
(That is my brother-in-law and their dog in the last picture. If he knew I posted this on the internet he'd kill me. Don't tell. )
As of today, I've officially lost 30lbs, so I decided I wanted to take some pictures because just looking in the mirror, I can't really tell if I've made any progress.
I took the pictures and thought, "Eh, they're okay..." and then went on Facebook to find pictures of me at my starting weight. Oh my gosh that was hard. Being overweight, I was very camera shy, so it was hard to find ones that were full-body pictures or where I wasn't hiding behind one of my slimmer friends (haha, as if THAT would have worked). But I found a few and I was so AMAZED I nearly cried. And then I decided I wanted to share, so here they are!
The first few are my before pictures -- taken in April 2007, December 2006, and May 2008 respectively. I was probably around 275-270 in all of them.
The last couple were taken today -- at 242lbs, 30lbs lighter!
Well, since I have been on my diet for a few months now, I thought I would add to this post. I find these threads the most inspirational part of the whole forum.

I notice more of change in the side view (less junk in the trunk). Thanks for looking!
I finally felt ready to post a progress picture! When you have this much to lose, 42 lbs. doesn't seem to make such a drastic difference in pictures, but wow does it ever FEEL different!!
OK...Let's see if I can get this to work...
The first picture was a week ago with my sister at 180 lbs...I'm the tall one.
The second picture is about 238lbs
