right now the 24 hour fitness BB deal with 6 months, watch display, cord, 1 coaching session, is the best deal for 250, it was about 8 bucks for shipping. I think it ends on the 31st.

I too was torn between the BodyBugg and GoWear Fit, and I ended up going with the BodyBugg because I could log my daily calories. I must say that I was disappointed when I got the devise, as the food log leaves much to be desired.

I have added some attachments so you can see what the food log is like for the BodyBugg. At first look, it looked good, but then I tried to use it...a whole different story. It suggests a daily menu plan for you, which is nice, but if you want to change it, it is a big pain. In attachment 3, it shows you how you can change your food choices for your menu, but for some reason, some of the words are cut off and it cannot be fixed by maximizing the screen. Also, once you click on a food, it assumes that this is your final choice and all of the other options disappear, which makes it difficult to search for items if you want to make sure the calorie count is right before selecting it.

In attachment 1, I put a red circle around the "Calories Consumed" button. The first attachment is only your plan, you have to separately input your food as shown in attachment 2. If you actually ate what is on your plan, you can put "I ate my meal plan", but if you did not, then you have to manually log everything in, although at least in this window the words are not cut off. Once you enter your calories in this section, it does not look like you can change them, so you can only enter them after the fact.

In short, the BB food log has the fundamentals, but it could really be a lot more consumer friendly and was not all that I hoped for.

I also wanted to clear up the confusion regarding sleep monitoring. The BodyBugg will tell you how many calories you burned while sleeping, but that is it. The GoWear Fit tells you calories burned, but also your sleep duration and how efficient your sleep is.

BodyMedia has a chart that shows the differences between the SenseWear, GoWear Fit and BodyBugg to help people decide which one is best for them, here is the link: http://www.bodymedia.com/prodtbl.html

I know some people are concerned about the armband/strap fitting them, so please note that the GoWear Fit only comes with a regular sized strap. The BodyBugg comes with 2 different sized armbands, with the large strap measuring 21" and fits arm circumferences of 12"-24".

Regarding pricing, there are two good specials that are going on right now. On Amazon, you can get the GoWear Fit for $199 (until Jan. 31) with free super saver shipping. It comes with a 3 month subscription. With 24 Hour Fitness, you can get the BodyBugg for $249 with a 6 month subscription, and this price is a "limited time" offer. Both offers include the display.

Hope this helps all of you that are thinking of taking the plunge!

I don't find the food logs that bad at all... but I didn't try and change the meal plans I just enter the individual items I eat. Maybe its cause I eat a lot of the same things but they pop up automatically. I suppose my biggest complaint is if you type in something like "chicken breast" it really should come up first in the list.

You don't have as many pre-entered choices like some of the free online tools but I've found those are just as annoying because there are too many things to search through and half the time since they are user entered there are tons of errors.

Once you enter the foods you eat often it seems quite fast and easy to log your food.

I agree with the search box clearing being annoying once you select your food. I'd like to see the calorie counts before I select the item so I don't have to search for it again if it ends up being not what I wanted.

Over all I'm glad I didn't let the complaints about the food logs prevent me from trying this out. I think while there are improvements to be made, its fairly functional.

My biggest complaint right now is the wireless devices in my house keep my watch from being knocked out of synch way too often.

To enter your weight, click on the picture of the feet on the scale.
To edit your food chocies once you have selected them, click on the word NUTRITION. It looks grayed-out and is in the bottom 1/3 of the page

The reason the display is always out of sinc in your house is because of all the wireless stuff we have.

Thanks for the WI link, I knew it was some place easy

OKay this may seem like a stupid question, but does the digital display show the time? I mean, can you wear it as a watch?

yes. It defaults to the time display if you get out of sync with the armband, too.

eta - I don't wear mine as a watch because it's a little big and bulky. I wear it on my waistband mostly, and sometimes on the armband.

I keep mine attached on my purse strap It's been there for about 4 months now, and never even threatened to fall off! I like there, because I can easily see the time, and it's easy to sync.

The last thing would to troubleshoot the USB connection, to make sure it's working by plugging in something else like your Ipod or camera. I bought mine through myminifly and Matt has helped me a lot. Maybe he can help you? I heard Bodymedia customer service lacks good response time but you could always try them first thing in the morning when they open, don't know when that is...
Good Luck! Liz
The hard re-boot worked!! I held down the button until all the lights went out and then when I plugged it in to charge it flashed red. So, for some reason, it got an error in the system and never charged the battery. Susan at bodymedia is helping me too -- but she seems so swamped! Now I'm just waiting to make sure it'll hold the charge. *crosses fingers*

Thanks for your help!!

I'm glad that worked for you Naia! I know I was sooo frustrated when I had the communication problem when I first got it, 4 days of it! They finally figured it out though.
I have another question for you guys....do you think sometimes the cal/min number during rest is too high? I have a target deficit of 750 cal/day and try to be at least around 900 cal/day or so to make sure I get the 1.5 lbs/week. Any input is appreciated!
Thanks, Liz
3 lbs down since January1st!

LOVELAND,
even if the numbers are high, as long as it is "your bugg" all the numbers will be high and all the numbers are yours and all your activity will be high cal/min. the only way it will show a difference is when you chose a period of time to look at (tracking results) if your calorie input is much higher than what you actually entered.

So if you are entering 1200 cals a day eaten but the BB is reading 2000, you will have 100 cal deficite instead of the 900 based on entered cals/senced cals. Make sence?

So my first week i entered in about 1600 a day but the BB senced closer to 1800 a day, 2nd week I was much more accurate on my entering and my nubers were much closer, enterd 1600, senced 1550-1650

I just ordered my bodybugg from 24 hour fitness! I wasn't planning on getting the digital display, but since it is free why not?

L144S-Thanks for the input. I've had the Sensewear for 2 months and my experience is that my body does much better with more calories consumed and more calories burned. I tried to drop my calories from 1800 to 1500 and I gained 1.5 lbs! I still had the average deficit of 850 calories/day for that week and that just didn't make any sense!!! (There was no TOM or water retention issue) I have a problem with my Thyroid and have been on medicine for 22 years. I'm sure that has an influence.....now I'm back to the 1800 calories consumed for the last 2 weeks and have lost the 1.5 lbs/week. I guess time will tell....
Thanks, Liz

I just received by Bodybugg yesterday and have got everything activated and going. I can already tell I'm going to love it. I have a question about the food log. The answer may be in this thread somewhere, but the thread is so long, I'm intimidated to go look for it and I really need to get up from this computer and move more instead.
Anyway, my question is: Is there a way to just enter a total calories consumed into the my results page or the calories consumed page without having to log each food? This is in case I decide I prefer to use another food log database. Could I use another food log database then just transfer the totals to my bodybugg tracker?

Hi everybody - I'm new here

I'm thinking about buying the sensewear, but there are some things that I'm unsure about. I hope someone will answer my questions.
How big is the sensewear mini? I have seen a lot of pictures, but can't find out exactly how big it is..

How does the graphs look in the sensewear program? I would really like to see a graph of 24 hours, but I can't find that either..
