I wish I could post more - I'm 8 weeks along today and have never felt so sick in my LIFE. Just awful, constant nausea and waking up at 2 am to throw up, so totally disgusting. I'm supposed to go to my 7 yr old's school play in 1/2 hour so I just dragged myself off the couch, but I really just want to collapse. I'm living on oatmeal, yogurt and bananas right now, I've gained about 2 lbs and still exercise, it's the only thing that gives me even slight relief from feeling wretched.

Sara, how are you doing? Is the sick feeling subsiding?

Ali, Sounds like you're keeping your exercise on course. Nice! I sure hope my sickness subsides around 10 weeks as well, it's been so intense for about 3 1/2 weeks now.

Aphil, You could definitely be craving much worse! Fruit is so nutritious, it's perfect. When I was pregnant w/my ds 8 years ago, I craved sugar and junk food. With this one, when I can eat, I only want healthy foods, even if they are more processed than what I usually eat. Sugary/fat foods make me feel dreadful...thank goodness. Did you experience morning (all day) sickness? When did it subside?!?! Give me hope....

Take care everyone!

Anne

I experienced morning sickness with my first baby-up until about 12 weeks. With my second I didn't have any at all. With this baby I had it really bad up until about 14 weeks...and now (at 17 1/2) I just get "bouts" now and then, usually brought on by an empty tummy, someone with way too much perfume on in the store, or my husband deciding to drive on a bumpy/curvy country road.

Anne--sorry to hear you are feeling so sick. I hope it passes soon for you.
Aphil--I agree that it could be much worse what you are craving. I've been craving salt myself. Lots and lots of salt on tomatoes mostly. Since I know it's not good for me I try to limit myself to about once a week with a sliced up mater and some table salt on top

I had my appt. yesterday. Looks like I'll be having this one on Aug. 29 (that's the day he scheduled my c-section). I'm also going to be on every other week appts. from here on out. I'll have to do the 24-hour urine test before my next appt. to check my creatinine levels since I have Gest. Diab. At my Apr. 26 appt. I'll have an u/s and hopefully we'll be able to find out the sex. I'll then have u/s every 4 weeks to check on the baby and I'm sure I'll end up with NSTs when I hit 32-33 weeks. Oh and I'll sign my consent papers for the tubal when I'm 30 weeks. Baby's HR was good (I didn't get the measurment but it sounded fast) My BP was fine and I don't have to check my sugar levels quite as much as I was and don't have to add any more insulin.

The sickness does go, I thought I was going to die this pregnancy I was so ill. Relief came at 16 weeks.
My obs has decided not to deliver anymore so I have to find a doctor and new hospital with 9 weeks to go!
To top it off I am showing 2 weeks ahead they dont think I will get to 40 weeks. I am 31 now. I feel okay with this one, the acid is starting but I am fitter this time.
I am eating like a horse but I refuse to deny myself food as I know after the nameless one (name ...come to me is born I shall be on a strict diet. I have so had it with being slow. Its not just about being large anymore, I hate not being able to move fast. Hope you are all going ok...Chels from Aus

Anne- Actually, I felt better Tuesday, but the last two days were terrible! I think I cried for 40 minutes Wednesday night, because when I was crying, I couldn't feel how sick I was. I even threw up some, which I haven't done for weeks (since I started taking stuff every night) Today was more "normal" sick. I am right at 11 weeks, so I'm hoping that 12 is my lucky number. You sound sicker than me though, in general. It would be easier if I didn't have to be at work 8 hrs/day, but that can't be helped. Have you asked your doctor about anything to help? Mine said to try a combination of Unisom and vitamin B6. I have been taking half a Unisom and 50 mg of vitamin B6 every night, and it seemed to help a LOT. Since it's been worse the last few days, I doubled it to a full Unisom and 100 mg of vB6 last night.

I don't crave ANYTHING any more. I'm so sick of food and of eating. I pretty much have to eat every hour (i can go 2 to 2 1/2 if I eat a pretty heavy meal, but that can also make me sick sometimes). I am so sick of thinking of and finding things that actually sound good. Thankfully, I don't feel like eating much sugary stuff, but I haven't had any kind of vegetable in over a month I think. I can't even handle lettuce. Sigh. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well!

Hi All,

I failed my glucose screening so I might have GD, not end of the world, but still has me down a bit. I had my GTT this morning so I got to drink the even sweeeter orange crush stuff.

Anne: I hope it subsides soon. M/S sucks! How many children do you have?

Sara: I hope your M/S subsides too. I know how hard it is to work especially in the first trimester(All I wanted to do was sleep). Take care!

Dawnyal: What are NSTs? Just wondering as I may have GD.

Thanks!

Ali

ALI--NSTs are non-stress tests and you don't necessarily have to have GD to get them done. If you go past your due date you get them and there are many other reasons. Basically you go into Labor and Delivery (you do here anyway) and get hooked up to a monitor to hear the baby and a monitor to see if you are contracting. It usually takes about 20 minutes or so until there are at least 10 good movements from the baby. Mine will be to ensure I don't have strong contractions because I'll be having a c-section. HTH

Hey girls...new to this forum...but not new to 3fatchicks (used to be under the name chubbyvixen). I am 25 weeks pregnant and eating the WORST foods possible. Its a love/hate relationshop...love the food/hate what Im doing to my baby and body. Although I have very bad eating habits at the moment, I've only gained about 5lbs. I did lose some in my first trimester. I was SOOO sick...in and out of the hospital with IV's. Feeling much better now though...love that the baby is kicking.
I would like to start eating better now so that after Connor is born, It won't be a "culture shock" to be back on WW.

Sara- YOU'RE PREGNANT?!? I'm so happy for you! I miss the Curvy Vixen forum

Love,
Deanne

Deanne-
Nice to see you! I was thinking about you the other day... Yeah, weightloss shmeightloss. I have been pretty nauseated since about 5 weeks (I'm 12 tomorrow) and I've had to eat pretty much every hour and it is carbs and cheese and stuff that has been settling. I'm starting to feel better (crossing fingers) so I'm hoping to start eating a little less and little healthier. I had gained about 10 lbs between Nov. and Jan. when I got pregnant, and I've gained about 15 since then. Sigh. I am trying to get more active again too. This pregnancy has really thrown me for a loop healthy-wise! I know it will be worth it, so I try not to be depressed about how "fat" I am getting. ;-) I do want to be healthy though, and I dont feel very healthy right now. I really look forward to being able to stomach veggies again! I am sorry you were so sick in your first trimester!! Congrats on the little boy.

I am so sorry for all of you pukey chickees...One thing that had been shown to help are sea bands, which stimulate an accupressure point. YOu may feel like Wonder Woman though!

The Unisom and B-6 is a great combo too.

Sea-bands are what go me through Disneyland when we went early last month (when I was at 8 weeks). If we hadn't mostly paid for it, and weren't flying, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gone. Some of it was miserable, but I managed to have fun. Only problem was wearing the sea bands 9-10 hours a day had bad repercussions on my wrists, and my hands weren't working very well. Rather painful - enough that I haven't used them much since - but they most definitely helped me survive! The Unisom/B6 combo has done great things for me...

I never got sick with any of my 4 pregnancies. I had days where I felt gross, I am sorry some of you are having a rough time. I am 29 weeks today. Yippeeeeeeeee! I can not wait to wear regular clothes again! Nothing is fitting right. 11 more weeks, I can do this. (I think!) This is my easiest pregnancy. I am set if this is a girl except for socks for the first 6 months. lol If it is a boy, I got some major exchanging to do. lol

Hi guys. I haven't posted on the pregnancy forum in quite a while. In fact there are even some newly "diagnosed" mommies to be since I last posted. For those of you with m/s, it will leave sooner or later and be a distant memory. I had it until 15 weeks and lost over 20 pounds with it. That was the positive thing because I have less than 6 weeks to go and have only gained 8 pounds. I haven't done anything diet or exercise wise but have had so much heartburn and nausea that comes and goes that it kinda regulates what you eat for you.

I too had failed my 1 hour glucose test but passed the 3 hour. I took my glucometer with me and tested each time they drew blood so I knew they wouldn't try to pull one over on me. I am surprised though that i haven't gotten it cause I am over weight myself. My first born weighed 8 lb 6 oz and this baby boy is measuring 2 weeks ahead so I'm probably headed in that direction yet again.

Hey chicks...I cannot believe how much I am eating! I guess I'm making up for the morning sickness I had earlier. I have had 2 days this week when I was a little sick...some vomiting. It didn't even phase me...it was sort of like ok whats new.
I feel like I am not showing as much as most women would be at 25 weeks. I am finally past that stage where people were probably wondering if I just had a big gut or if I was pregnant.
Not much going on over here...wish I could come back to the States to see my family. My mom will be coming over here after Connor is born. She's a little nervous about coming to the Middle East. Especially in the middle of summer...we top out at about 130 degrees. Fun, fun.

How is everyone else??

Doing pretty well here. The m/s is mostly better, but evenings are still hard. Last night we tried to eat Chinese food with MIL (which I normally love, but haven't been able to stand the thought of for months). I tried, but most everything just looked gross to me. I even got a few things, and most of what I tried was like... no. I ended up eating a little bit of egg drop soup, half a dozen pieces of sesame chicken, and almost a dozen crab angels/wontons. My stomach wasn't impressed, and I think it's punishing me this morning. It's Saturday though, and it's always nice not to have to go to work! Deanne - I don't know how you're going to stand being 9 months pregnant in that kind of heat! I hate the heat, but have (and probably will) live/d most of my life in southern Arizona. It gets up to 115/120 here tops and I hate it. Luckily we'll be moving back to Utah when I'm at about 7 1/2 months, so it will be a little cooler! Your mom is brave!
