Welcome Zan!

Beerab - I think I have seen you here before. But hello anyways! =D

Last night I went to the gym & I think going so late was a mistake. I was so TIRED this morning. Oh my goodness! But I just had lunch and I'm feeling awake now. Just relaxing before going back to work. Nothing major to report on my end.

Wishing everyone a great Wednesday!

Nutritionist, eh? I might just have one look over my food journals to give me some pointers, if only to make sure I am eating enough nutrients. I've got a weakness for fruit (Peaches and Watermelon at the moment).

Hiya Nic,

Congrats on saying No to the cupcake, Bee!

Oh yeah I LOVED my nutritionist- I brought in a weeks worth of menu, she looked at it and gave me some pointers and even had recipes if I wanted. She said even losing half a pound a week is good (my doctor said I should lose a min of 3 lbs) and agreed South Beach Diet was a great approach. I only saw her like 2 times but it did help.

Thanks- trust me it was HARD but thank God it wasn't chocolate or I'd have been screwed lol.

Yeah a coworker is visiting from MN today and everyone wants to go out to lunch. I've already said no. I am sticking with my plan of going to the gym to do weight training and then my slimfast shake and fruit.

Beerab--I hear you on the temptation. I want to hang out with my coworker but I don't want to be in a place that I am tempted.

Speaking of which--advice please. My birthday is this weekend and my family is having a huge BBQ party. I already plan on sticking with my meal plan for the meal (maybe go off it to have so extra veggies). I am already planning on squeezing in an extra workout (hiking to take pictures of the kids with the sunflowers). My mom is making me a birthday cake. Even though I am sticking with my meal plan, would it be ok to have a small slice of cake? Thoughts opinions?

I see no problem with having cake on your birthday, unless you think it will spiral you off track by encouraging other not-so-little indulgencies or some medical reason I am missing . It's a little treat and it sounds like you will have no trouble keeping to your plan. Happy Birthday!

Thanks! I think I will be ok with the birthday cake but had to send out the questions to my cysters. I know its my birthday and it will be a celebration but I don't want to get in the habit of "Oh, it's my birthday, I can eat this." or "Oh, we're running late so I will just have to eat fast food" etc. I think posting the question is my way of keeping myself accountable and making sure I ONLY eating a small piece of cake lol.

Thanks for the hug zanheltangia!

Talking

Yeah I completely understand that, Laugh , that's how I got here (the "I can have because"s and the "someone's got to finish it before it spoils"s).

The so-called "special occassions" always flicks on a flashing red light in my mind nowadays, 'cause anything could possibly be called that and they pop up like weeds, .

Oh, side note: I recommend slicing your own piece of cake. "Small" and "portion-size" tend to not match for some friends/family members (like mine for example!), haha! It's so much easier to toss an empty plate than just take a few bites and then toss it.

Have fun this weekend!

Nicoyaangel,

Thanks for the well wishes on the engagement! I read you are engaged as well--congrats!! We will have to plan on being two hot brides lol. Do you have any ideas what you want to do yet? We have no idea hehe we might just elope.

I also wanted to say, that I am super impressed with how much you work out. I have been trying to get to our company gym and do weights over lunch every day and today I took a 40 min. walk over lunch. How do you find time to do that kind of work out? (I am jealous by the way lol) I am up by 5:30 because I have to leave the house by 6:30 every day to get to work. I am home by 4:30 and then its homework with the kids, laundry, quick dinner, dishes, soccer practices, then home, showers, bed for the kids and bed for me. The only other time I have to work out is during soccer practice (I lap the park where they do their practice). I am worried I am not getting in enough of a workout. I do bike with the kids on the weekend and this Saturday we are going for a hike.

Ok back to work for me--just wanted to share that I am impressed and keep up the amazing work!!

Nicoyaangel, I'm in Tennessee. Earl came past the East Coast and blew in some chilly weather to us. It was mid 70's in the day, and 50's at night. In the spring that is perfect, but in the fall, that reminds me that winter is coming. I'm not a winter person, and I'm totally not a short-day person. I like daylight until 9pm and 80 degree nights and 90 degree days.

I really need to move to Miami!

Hello everyone!!!

Beerab - Woohhooo! Glad you said no to the cupcake. Thats awesome!!! I know it's hard but if you keep saying no to bad things after a while it's going to come naturally. I did it with soda. Now it's like it doesn't exist.

Jennifer - LOL Yes you do! I love the cold. Switch?! Haha Glad it didn't touch. I heard about that here. That must be scary =|

LaughingGirl - Thanks!!! Oh no! To be honest, I haven't even started. I keep telling people that we are going to break the record of being engaged for the longest A) it's expensive & B) I'm lazy & C) we don't know what we want LOL As for the working out, I try to workout whenever I can. I don't have kids (this is why I'm working out because I want to lose weight to have kids). At lunch I go to the park that's like 2 minute walk from my job and walk laps. On Mondays & Wednesdays I get off at work at 6:30p so I rush home, make it home by 6:50p grab the dog & go to the Duck Pond park and walk laps. This place is HUGE. One lap is about 1 1/2 to 2 miles. I also go to the gym at night. On Tuesdays I workout at the gym which is about a 20 second drive (if that) from my house. Thursday nights I can work out until whenever because I don't work on Fridays. Fridays I grab the dog & my mom and go walking at the park. Saturday & Sundays either take a break or same thing workout at the gym. If I confused you I'm sorry lol. But ugh! I have hit a plateau. I'm trying my best to break it - help? Anyone?

For my bay area people, I'm sure you heard about the horrible fire in San Bruno, California. Basically there are blocks and blocks of homes on fire because there was a gas leak and there was a huuuuuuge explosion. Many are homeless and hospitals need blood. Please donate clothes & blood to help! My prayers go out to the families in San Bruno. It's really, really bad. =(

Thank you!

Hm, maybe if you switch up on the food part (everything I read keeps saying food is 80% of weight loss and exercise is 20%), you might be able to break up that plateau, Nic. I upped my veggies and fruits and knocked down my processed foods/soda, and that helped me when I got a bit stuck. Maybe you can find something that's different from what you are doing now but still on plan, that knocks you loose from that plateau too. Good luck!

Just wanted to share...I heard someone say this on the radio today and it is going to be my mantra this week every time I am "hungry"....

"Nothing tastes as good as thin feels."

Just a quick howdy... I'm still a bit AWOL with my divorcing friend. I'm doing ok, but worried about friend right now.

Labs came back with all in order, so that's a bright spot.

hugs.

Who's here this month?

Hi! I'm Kristi, and I'm new.

How are you?
Good! Woke up at 4am with the baby (I think she has a ear infection - AGAIN. Poor thing!) and since I couldn't get back to sleep, I decided to go to the YMCA instead - so I got my workout in early.

What are you working on? How was last month?
Working on weight loss - last month was okay, this month so far is blah! I'm at a plateau and switching things up to change that.

How's your PCOS management going?
Okay? I'm on Met 2000mg daily, and still no period. I've had one since I had my daughter last July - now part of that was probably due to post partum, breastfeeding, etc, but a lot of it is just the PCOS. I have my yearly appointment next month, and plan on attacking this from a different direction. When I was diagnosed with PCOS, I was trying to conceive, so the treatment was different from what it would be now, I assume? I guess we'll see!

Anyway, hi to my fellow cysters!
