Default Just tried yogurt for the first time.

YUCK.

how do people eat this?
it was chocolate flavored (I figured if I liked that I would try a healthier kind) and it tasted almost sour.

Am I missing out on something? wrong brand? or is it supposed to taste like its gone off?

Could be the wrong brand.... but could also be the need to develop a taste for it. Try Yoplait! It is wonderful! They have a light kind too which I avoid because it has Nutrasweet; but there are a huge variety of flavors either in the light or regular. My favorite is White Chocolate Raspberry. French vanilla is good too... but then most of them are LOL. I eat one just about every day so keep lots of variety.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm with you (bees). Yogurt, as often as I've tried, is just a taste I could never get used to.

I've tried the fruit varieties, the custard varieties, the kinda that supposedly taste like a "chocolate fantasy" (one of them was Chocolate Eclair which was absolutely disgusting) but I just can't handle the taste.

Yogurt is some nasty stuff. And yes, most of it has a sour taste, regardless of how hard they try and cover it up.

haha good to know its not just me.
I'm going to keep trying to eat it because I know its good for me. Maybe the lemon chiffon flavor I bought will go a little better with that tart taste.
I guess I should be proud of myself for trying something new though

LOL well the lemon is another of my favorites. But the first time I tried yogurt I could not imagine how anyone could eat the stuff. A year later I tried it again... and loved it! Go figure! But brand DOES matter... and I agree; most of the chocolate stuff is nasty! Try a fruit flavor!

Not me. I can get my nutrition elsewhere and I never try and force myself to eat something I'm not going to enjoy just because it's good for me. Yes, I give certain foods a couple of chances, but if I just can't do it then I can't do it. I move on and not worry about it.

I'll agree with this statement - if I eat ANY yogurt at all, the fruit flavors are the best. But it's still not something I'm crazy enough about to keep buying the stuff.

Bees, go with Misti's suggestion, try one more time and do the fruit varieties. If that doesn't work, nothin will.

My problem is I'm SUCH a picky eater.
In order to get all the stuff I need in my diet I generally need to eat things that don't taste good to me, or a whole lot of the same thing.
When I get bored with what I eat, I eat crappy food for some variety.
Sooo I'm trying some new stuff. I bought a few containers of yogurt in different flavors, so maybe it will grow on me They make it sound so nice too!
Lemon Chiffon, Chocolate Mousse (light and fluffy!), Key Lime Pie..
LIES.

Too funny.

Anyway, like Misti said, try the fruity ones. Those are way better than the ones they try and turn into a lavish dessert.

LOL Bees. I agree with you. I do try different things that I don't think I like and quite often find that I DO after really giving it a try! Go for it! I can't wait to hear what you think! I admit I prefer the regular stuff to the light and fluffy ones... but give them a try! But DO try Yoplait before you give up!!!! It is far superior to the others!!
