Default This Week's Healthiest Food - Garlic

http://www.whfoods.com/index.html?PH...cf68e93580e481

I loooooove garlic. One of my favorite ways to eat it is to roast whole heads of garlic. Once roasted, the garlic becomes sweet and soft and can be squeezed right out of the clove onto bread. It's spreadable

An acquired taste, and really only for serious garlic lovers, but it's wonderful.

Fat-free (meaning no butter) garlic bread!

Linda, I am so with you, girl.
I LOVE garlic! We never had it growing up (British parents. We Brits were never big on flavour, you know. heh heh), and the first time I realized how much I really loved it was when I met my DH. His Dad used to make garlic sandwiches. Toasted white bread (gotta love that trashy Wonderbread) with a little butter and sliced raw garlic. Oh, my gosh... talk about divine!!

That recipe looks awesome... I'm going to check it out. Thanks, Linda!

Linda -- I love this thread every week and have really enjoyed poking about that Healthiest foods website!

(I don't post about it a lot, but thought you should know!)

I'm very glad you enjoy it

That's a great site for recipes and information and since they change the food every week, I figured it would be a good idea to share it with everyone.

Healthy foods rock!

Garlic... yum I can hardly imagine a meal without garlic. Roasted garlic is easy even when having a bbq. I remove the very outer layers of the bulb leaving plenty of inner layers, place it on foil, sprinkle with olive oil, wrap in the foil and toss on the grill. I always make plenty as it is good even the next day.

Gosh, I love garlic, but I've never roasted my own. This sounds so easy, I'll try it tomorrow when I'm grilling anyway. Thanks Jayde
