Hi all ~ hope everyone had a wonderful weekend OP. I was able to stay op this weekend, and that's when I normally blow it - so I'm patting myself on the back for that one...and best of all - the scale reflects it!

On a more discouraged note...my sister started a different diet plan the same time I started with MRC. She's lost almost 20 pounds. I've lost around 14. I am SO happy for her...she's working hard at this and has wanted it for so long. I'm proud of her. But dang it...why isn't mine coming off faster? I'm working my butt off and being so strict with my eating. Then we (my hubby and I) run into a friend we haven't seen in awhile and he says to my hubby "What's up skinny?" He totally noticed my husband had lost 20 pounds, but not me.

Okay, done feeling sorry for myself. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I feel much better now and more determined to stay OP

Keep it up!

Try varying your breakfasts, and that may help. There are many variations for breakfast that you could do, that would help. Try not to have same item each morning. When I was close to goal, the weight came off so slow. Some weeks nothing at all, some .2 or nothing. That is where I came up with I took a seed off, being there were weeks where only point something came off. Hang in there, it will come off, just stay on program and try to vary what you are eating on all meals and maybe that will help.

As for measurements, I found they take them whenever. They never took them monthly on me.. But each center is different. Before I hit maintenance, I believe they took measurements 5 times.

Momoffour..
So glad to hear from you. I was worried about you and posted a couple of weeks ago if anyone had heard from you.

Tamikl
I am always looking for new recipes. Would love to have you post them.
The last part of weight loss was challenging, as it was slow coming off, but if you work with consultant and stay totally OP it will come off, I promise. As I said above, mine was real slow, but I did hit goal, so hang in there.

Congrats to all the losers, and those having a struggle, hang in there, it will turn around.. If can't do it on your own, have the consultant go over your journal each time you go and make suggestions. Consultant asked for my journal each time I weighed in till I hit maintenance. Journal every thing you
put in your moth, including anything you drink and any exercise you do.

Everyone have a great weekend and think thin.

Patzi
Patzi~I always love hearing from you. Your words of wisdom do help very much. I will try to be more patient with myself!

Here are a couple of new recipes I got:

MRC Protein Pina Colada
1 pk. Lemon HNS
1 pk. Vanilla Creme Pudding HNS
Coconut, Pineapple, Vanilla extracts to taste
Ice
Water
BLEND~!

Frozen Yogurt
3/4 C frozen unsweetened Strawberries
4 oz Cottage Cheese
2-4 pks splenda
1 van Crm pudding HNS
6 oz Diet strawberry soda or berry Crystal Light

BLEND all until smooth...freeze. May substitute any OP fruit and blend with Diet cream soda or ginger ale. Replaces 4oz protein, Fruit...MEAL: lunch

I haven't tried either...but will!

So far, so good on maintenance. I've stayed under 190lbs since we got back from Alaska in mid-June. It's not always been easy, but I"m hoping that getting back into my regular routine will help.

THis weekend was rough, food-wise, but I"m hoping that upping my exercise and being extra-careful this week will even it out. I went out for drinks with co-workers on Friday, and I ended up having one glass of chardonnay, chips & salsa, and then some of the nachos that someone ordered for the table. Yesterday was hubby's company party, with a luau theme and yummy cheesecake. I waaaay overate yesterday (made the mistake of eating super-light all day prior and arriving super-hungry) and felt sick all the rest of the afternoon/evening. Today was okay, back OP, until we went to MIL's bday party. She got the carrot cake and ice cream I love from a nearby shop. I didn't have much, but I really didn't need to have any, in all honesty.

But, it's all about choices and consequences, and so I'll just have to be extra active and extra careful this week in order to balance out my food choices this weekend, I guess.

Tamikl--I had a really, really hard time getting the last few pounds off to hit my goal. I think part of it was physical (your body is working more efficiently by the time you are close to goal weight), but a lot of it was mental--I felt "done" with the diet, and it was almost like I wanted to jump ahead and be in stabilization already.

Welcome to all the newcomers and congrats to all the losers!
Thank you for the heads up~ I am only half way to my goal, and so sounds like it may be a longer journey than my first half~Problem is that my counselor doesn't think so, so there is some expectation by her to actually lose more per week than previous losses. I am not sure how that is going to work. I am thinking about changing up my supplements a bit. Since May I have been on the same ones....so I may try that, too. Summer is so hard to stay perfectly OP. Birthday parties, etc...seems there is always a reason to fall off...and sweets are my weakness

Well, a new day, right?! I can do this...and I will!

I signed the 40 pound board today!!!!!

I actually managed to stay OP for the most part and lost weight on my vacation/road trip. I have a lot of catching up to do with all the posts (not to mention getting ready for a visit by Irene this Friday ), but I just wanted to let everyone know I did it!!!!

Congrats Jen!

Hope Irene calms down a bit. When I was in Orlando, last week, I was praying there wouldn't be a tropical storm or hurricane. Now, I'm praying for everyone's safety. When I lived in Orlando, I went through Jean, Charlie and Frances. Those weren't fun! Be safe!

Today is my 150th day on program! I was going to go in for measurements but figured I would wait and do it tomorrow for my normal WI on Tuesdays. I pretty much stalled last week because of vacation. WI on Friday was +0.5 then on Saturday it was -1lb. I guess last week was just a wash. Hoping for at least a couple pounds tomorrow morning.

My sister-in-law took me shopping Saturday. She felt sorry for me wearing baggy clothes. Plus, we are going to the Def Leppard concert in Kansas City this weekend and I needed something to wear. We went to Lane Bryant and hit the jackpot. Apparently, there were 10 stores in the US that were testing a 50% off everything promotion. The store we went to, happened to be one of those 10!! I found a nice pair of SIZE 14 pants and a sweater on clearance and then 4 other tops. I can't believe I can actually buy tops from Lane Bryant again. Their sizes tend to be smaller than Catherines... but I'm rockin' the 22/24 tops! Oh - and I threw in a pair of satin boy short panties. Had no idea how they would fit or if I would even like them - so only got one pair. But I so love them! I'm definitely going to get some more of those, when they go on sale next. All that kept going through my head was... the next time I buy a pair of pants, they will be a size 12!! Holy Moly! That's hard for me to wrap my head around.

Anyway - I will have my SIL take pics of me this weekend when I'm all snazzied up!

On another note .. I know someone asked how often measurements should be done - In the beginning they are done on the 15th & 30th day and then every 30 days. I usually have to remind the consultants about it and I have it marked on my food sheet, so I don't forget.

I've been busy with teenage issues and the additional stress they cause. So for seven days I've been on plan every other day and horribly off on the rest.

So just as I feared, I have lost my focus since hitting goal. In order to counteract this, I have an appointment with the Center on Wednesday to join. I want to get down another ten and learn how to stabilize and maintain. They're having an open house that day so maybe I can get a deal.

I used to be a big spender there so I'll have to make it clear to them I'm only buying the HNS from them.

So I'm excited for my new start on Wednesday. I only wish I had measured myself last February when I started.

Have to take my daughter to Walgreen but I'll be back to catch up on everyone tonight.

Miss you ladies and think of you everyday even if I don't check in.

my counselor isn't too encouraging either even though i have lost 8 lbs in the first 2 weeks and continously losing 2 lbs a week - they don't like the fact that i won't buy the supplements or all the HNS they tried to push on me the first week. i would have bought them if they weren't so pushy. first meeting they talked me into buying the phenatrine (i haven't used it yet) $75 a bottle!!!! after i paid $300. told me the saliva test was a necessity...and i find out later they charged me $100 for it (included in the $300) had a coupon for $100 off so it would have been $400. yes, they will show you the results and encourage you to buy at least 3 more supplements!!! i took the copy to my doctor (had my yearly exam scheduled anyway) and she said she did believe in the saliva testing and all my results were normal. :-) they of course told me i needed cortitrim, M6...and Co10 something! i order my Protidiet pink lemonade powder (17.6 oz for $26) , HNS's from Dietdirect.com
i've bought one box from the center. i did not like the fact that in the Food class where i thought we'd be talking about recipes, food choices, suggestions...the counselor went down the list of HNS at the center and described each one in detail!!! then asked the people in the class to check what they wanted and she grabbed their credit card to ring all up.! wow! everytime i go in, all they want to do is sell me more stuff. now i go in, weigh in and try to get the heck out!! i do love the plan (meta slim) and can't believe i am finally losing weight again!! just wish the counselors werent so money hungry and would be more supportive. one of the counselors is nice and gives me tips on what to eat, etc. when i ask him.
i know it's a business...guess i'm just used to Weight watchers where they really care about who comes to the meetings and not just tryn to sell their stuff...
