  • Jen-- You made the only choices you could. I'm sure you learned a lot from it (like pack another bottle of water). But, I'm sure when you get back to drinking the water again and OP, the pounds will melt away. Stay strong. You can do it.
  • Hi ladies! I finished my week of pre-conditioning and now I'm on day 3 of the yellow menu. I forgot how hard the first 10 days are! I look at my green menu longingly thinking about the fruit, salmon and creamy chocolate shakes. Haha. But I've done it before and I KNOW I can do it again!

I have a quick question. I've read in some on of the threads about when to take/drink the HNS and the vitamins/supplements. I read something about taking the supplements 30 mins before eating. Is that the pill supplements or the HNS? I just wanted a quick run down of when to take the pills and what time frame I need to drink the HNS with my food?

    Thanks so much!
  • Jen-- how frustrating. You did the best you could. If it helps, I cheated (voluntarily, so less frustrating than your situation) this weekend and gained 7, but in two days I've lost 5 of that. Yours should come off really quickly, too, once you can drink water and get back OP. I'm sure there was a ton of salt in the stuff you ate, so that's probably the biggest issue.

Unbelievable that they only offered you a bottle of water once.
  • Relative shakes..I was told never to consume the whole package, only 2/3rds of the package.

Jen...I know you will be fine, you are very disciplined and have done a great job .You made the right choices with the choices you had. Just go back OP
and the weight will come off..

  • Thank you very much! New ideas always help!!!

    Quote: Tamikl..

Here are some ideas for lunch.. I was on Meta Slim, so you may have to make adjustments to plan you are on. My lunch allowed me protein, veggie, fruit for lunch. So if I give a single items, I added veggies, including salads
    and fruit to each item.
Egg, tuna, chicken salad wrapped up in butter leaf lettuce

Meatballs, meat from turkey , cold, with salad

Sliced chicken breast wrapped around lowfat string cheese( make sure the chicken and cheese is your allowance of protein

    Leftovers from night before

veggie quiche muffins made with veggies( this is an old South Beach recipe,
where I take egg beaters, veggies, and make muffins out of them by baking

Home made turkey burger patties or turkey burger sausage( I make these each weekend, and freeze)

    Turkey burger meatballs home made

Lettuce wraps work well with supper from night before

Cooked and peeled shrimp on top of a salad,or eaten cold with raw veggies and an acceptable dip

Celery stuffed with shrimp or tuna or crab salad

That is about all I can think of for now.

  • Vanilla is a great option because of all you can mix with it! Any HNS flavor goes great! I always use a blender with ice as well. Try it!

Quote: tkdtara ~ Silly question, but what flavor shakes are you doing on MQ? A 2.6 lb lose on day one is awesome!!

I was planning on starting MQ yesterday, but chocolate shakes are on back-order at my center. I was so bummed. They tried to get me to buy chocolate pudding or something else to add to the vanilla, which I'm not willing to do.

Has anyone tried the vanilla? I'm such a chocolate lover that I was looking forward to it! I now only have 3 days that I can do MQ before my big birthday bash on Sunday. I wanted to lose an extra couple of pounds so my new WHITE capris look good!

My center can't tell me for sure when the chocolate will be in.....maybe not til Friday, so should I just "suck it up" and get the vanilla???

    Thanks Ladies!!
  • Well, kinda having a down day. Did my weigh in today, and lost 2lbs this week...which I think is fine, but am being told it really isn't as much as other clients lose in a week. I, like many of you, am also taking every supplement they have offered (very expensive) and I am not even sure they are doing anything? Anyway, maybe I am just feeling frustrated today.

I mailed my Saliva Test out yesterday, so am anxious for the results. But after reading a previous entry, I hope that my results are not used as just some exuse to add more expense to this journey. If I truly need to do something, I wouldn't hesitate....but I am not convinced that all that I am doing right now is necessary.

We are suppose to trust our counselors...but they also need to make a living, right?
  • Thank You tkdtara (and victorialynn!) for the info. about the Pure Protein and everything. I checked online and it says my Target carries them. They don't have the 23g tho, just 21g. Not sure why.

    I really appreciate your suggestions!
  • Tamikl, it's really unfair of them to compare your weight loss to anyone else's. Every body is different and not everyone will respond to this program (or any other) in the same way. 2lbs per week is fantastic. No, you won't get to goal within the 17 weeks, but if they want you to buy more weeks, they should be pumping you up! Stick with what you're doing because you're doing a great job.

Vanilla shakes - I like them and I'm totally a chocolate person. I mixed an orange HNS with one and it tasted like an orange creamsicle! Very yummy. That's awesome about the Pure Protein shakes. Money is getting very, very tight. :-/

Sailors girl, I believe the 30 minutes rule applies to the pill-supplements. The HNSes can be consumed before, during, or after. Lots of the recipes in the cookbook use the HNSes as part of the meal. I'm loving the vanilla cream pudding supplement mixed with cottage cheese for breakfast. I need to get some lemon supplement (cha-ching) so I can try the cheesecake.

I haven't posted for a while. I went out over the weekend and succumbed to peer pressure and had a few drinks. It totally wasn't worth it. I hardly even got a buzz because I metabolized the alcohol so fast, and it stalled my weight loss. I hadn't gained when I WI in Tuesday, but I hadn't lost either. Definitely taught me to keep my eyes on the prize and STAY ON PROGRAM! I guess it was worth it since I learned a lesson from the experience. :-)
  • Tami~ I just read your post about your consultant's comment and I am a tad irritated!! Their job is to [B]encourage[B] you no matter what the circumstance, not make you feel that you aren't losing enough! 2 lbs is GREAT, are you kidding me?! I don't know how large your center is in Canyon, but I would request a different consultant next time you WI.

I think Patzi would agree with this too.....but if there are concerns once you get your hormone tests back, ask them for a copy to show your Dr. Personally, I would not take any more suppliments that they recommend w/o checking w/ your Dr. first.

Hang in there and don't let anything (even a negative comment from the consultant!) get you discouraged!

Sorry for the ranting, but this really pushed a button!
  • Hi All,
Just catching up on all the posts. Congrats to all the losers. Great work and keep it up. To those who strayed...that's in the past...just get right back on plan. No real damage happens with just a meal or single day. We get in to trouble when we can't shake the plunge and keep on straying for days and weeks.

I'm having an upbeat week. I decided to skip the scale this week because I know the first plateau should hit and I don't want the stuck scale to derail me. As of Saturday, I had lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks. My clothes are fitting better and I can see some slimming in my waist. The cravings are gone, hooray!! It's so much easier to stay on plan when you aren't fighting the voices in your head demanding the bad stuff. So, I'll just keep following the plan and check the weight next week.
  • Candi - I am totally back on the wagon again. I only did 5 days of Meta-Quick last week, so I figured I've got two more days this month I can do it. So, I did it yesterday and am doing it today.

Stone3973 - I love mixing the vanilla shakes with different HNS. Orange is pretty good, especially with Tangarine Diet Rite. Wildberry and Mixed Berry are good, as well. You can also add extracts to the shakes. For example, I've added Coconut Extract to the chocolate shake and it reminds me of a Mounds Bar.

Brandy8188 - I am drinking tons of water now. And yes, when I go back to that plant in October, I'm bringing my own water. Since yesterday, I'm down 1.5 pounds. I'm tackling this setback with a vengeance.

SailorsGirl - I've been told take the pills about 30 minutes prior to eating, but HNS can be with the meal.

tkdtara84 - There was TONS of salt. Between the salt on the fries and the pepperoni, it was awful. I can't believe I ate that stuff on a regular basis. I wish it tasted better than it did, but it really didn't.

patzi - Thanks for the encouragement. I'm back OP and praying it comes off quickly.

Tamikl - First off, two pounds is two pounds less than before and something to be celebrated! Congrats! As for the supplements, there are only a few things that most ladies on here would tell you are essential for this journey. Beyond that, it's up to you. If you want to hold off on purchasing too many supplements until you feel you need them, then by all means, say so. In today's economy, money is tight and there isn't much they can say to that. If you have questions, please let us know and we'll hopefully steer you in the right direction.

LetHerOut - Just like sodium, the best way to combat alcohol is to drink tons of water afterward. Alcohol dehydrates the body. Hang in there!

raven59 - 8 pounds in two weeks is awesome!!! And I think it's great to ditch the scale every once in a while. Less temptation to stray, especially if the scale doesn't tell you what you want.

For All Our Newbies - First and foremost a huge "WELCOME!" I hope you post here often and find the encouragement you need. This board really does make a difference. Also, a couple of months ago, the moderators at 3FC asked us, "To keep your thread more manageable and maybe more readable, do not make several posts at nearly the same time. Use the edit button to add more to your post if nobody has posted right after you." The issue is that a thread is limited to only 500 posts. It may seem like a lot, but we used to get to the end of the month and have the thread locked because we went over the limit. It was a pain to start a new thread just for a few days. If you want to post something, but no one has posted since your last post, there is an "edit" button in the lower right corner. Just click on that and add on to your previous post.

Hope everyone has a great, ON PLAN day.
  • Hi...I have always been rather fond of my counselor....and still am. I think she was just stating the facts, and that is that many are losing more weight that she sees twice per week. I only go once per week, because there is no center in Canon City. I drive to either Colorado Springs or Pueblo to do WI appts.

I so appreciate your encouragement, and like you, think 2lbs is more than if I was doing nothing!! My counselor has added 5 weeks to my program at no additional cost. (rewards I was told for consistently being at my appts, bringing meal journal, buying supp, etc...)

I will hit my goal, just maybe not as quick as some people is all!!

  • Hi ladies....thank you for the words of encouragement and for your concern. I guess some days we just feel less motivated than others, and for me some days bring about stronger temptations than others...ususally depending on the time of the month

This is a marathon, not a foot race, so we just keep plucking along at the pace that works for us. I really do love that I have found this site!

    Tami~
  • Well, I just weighed in and the "good news" is that I was only up 2 pounds on their scales. Hope that will be gone by next Monday. I'm on day 2 of Meta-Quick. That with drinking a lot water and sticking to the plan should help...I hope.
