How long did it take for you to notice a difference in the mirror?

I have a long way to go.. and I may not see the difference in the mirror.. but I see the difference in my clothes. And I think that counts. I also feel the difference in just my overall body composure. I took some picks when I first started and plan to take them every month. They're the kind of pictures that you don't let anyone else see, if you know what I mean. ;)

I have a plan for my Mexican lunch date tomorrow...
 
I have been thinking about this all day and appreciate everyone's tips. My plan is to drink my veggie drink mix, right before I leave the office, so I don't have to order a salad with nothing on it, plus I'm just not that big into veggies. Take my HNS in with me, already mixed in a water bottle. And I will order Chicken Fajitas (no onions or tortillas) or a grilled chicken breast (probably with lettuce & tomatoes, just to make my plate look somewhat decent and maybe pick at it but not really eat the veggies). Then I will have an apple in my car that I can munch on during my drive back to the office.

I can do this! It's not a "think I can" kinda feeling I have.. it's a I KNOW I can! And that feels really good. :D

I did this same thing and every two weeks, take new pictures. I can totally see the difference in the mirror, but not in the pictures... How weird is that? I know I look different cause I am told all the time and I see and feel it and the clothes tell the story also, but not the pictures... weird.

My sister is on her way from Florida as I type this and we plan to go to Jefferson Texas for a couple of days. I sure hope I can manage to find foods that are somewhat OP while we are gone!

I really started noticing a difference at about 50lbs (or 2/3 of my loss). I know it sounds like a big number, but when I look back at the pictures throughout my loss, I can see the difference each month now. As for when it hits the brain, it didn't happen for me until a few months into maintenance. I was so used to hating my body that I kept finding things I hated ("now I look like a giraffe," "I have no butt"). It took a while to develop a healthy sense about my body and to not be so harsh when I looked in the mirror. I had to work on it.

My lunch date was great! And I'm so proud of myself. I showed up a few minutes early, the waiter brought out the chips and salsa... I took a deep breath in .. and the chips smelled so good but I didn't have any of them! I ordered the chicken fajitas and just ate the meat because I drank my veggie drink in the car before I went in. As soon as I got to my car, I took a bite out of my apple and finished that before I got back to the office. :carrot:

Now - just hoping for a good WI later today.

Hello Everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. This seems like a great group with tons of advise I'm 15 days into the program and as of this am have lost 8.5 lbs. Yippee!! I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions but my first here is: What does OP mean? I'm making assumptions in reading alot of your posts but just wanted to confirm exactly. I appreciate any input with whatever 'newbie' questions I gack up.

Determined to turn heads and this time not because they're looking at the fat lady!!

For me it was almost immediately - at 10lbs I noticed I lost the majority of my stomach as if 10lbs was just hanging over my pants. When I lost 20lbs I saw it in the mirror because it appeared I was getting my waist back. I really noticed the difference in shopping for bras a few weeks ago - I went down a whole size, and no longer did I have side boobs (hanging out over my bra strap). As I'm getting closer to 30lbs - I definitely see my double chin going away .. so I'm completely excited about 40lbs!!!

I think the area I see the least progress - my canckles come and go - and my thighs... I also forgot to take pics .. so I'm starting at 30lbs lost to take them and will take them every 10lbs.

OP = On Plan ... some people use it as Off Plan, though. It kind of depends on the context of the sentence, I guess. :)

Did your center take a picture of you when you first started? I didn't take any pictures of myself before I started, so I just asked my center to make a copy of my "before" pictures that they taped into my file. :)

They did - but it was only a side view .. So I'm kind of bummed that there is no front shot .. I do have one of me at Christmas sitting on the couch - I look like a blob so I hide it.. but I'm about to pull that puppy out for motivation.

Thanks! I went for WI (weigh in for the newer people) and only lost 1lb. But I will take that pound. That's 4lbs. total for this week. I'm 2.5lbs from signing the 20lb board. Crossing my fingers that I will be doing that Tuesday at my next WI.

Hello everyone..

I weighed in this morning and gained another1/2 pound putting me right at goal.That is three weighins, gaining weight at each.. I suggested going back to the green menu on Meta Slim,and I was advised to go back to the blue for Saturday, Sunday and Monday and see what scale does Monday.So, here I go again. They said I lost more inches and gained muscle mass,so they feel that may be what is causing the weight gain. I still walk briskly one hour each night, 7 nights a week, and due to the loose skin on upper arms from losing weight I have been doing the weights every day for that area. The weights is he only thing new, and I am only at 35 a day.

I was so disgusted today, for the first time since I have been on this program,I felt like going and just binging, but after the pity party I talked myself out of it.. That would be so foolish.


So,we shall see.I will start the blue menu,on meta slim that is day 5-11tomorrow and see what happens.
