Great loss. You are doing so well. Are you doing the two meal program a day? When I was starving all week, they told me to add more fatty fish like
salmon to my menu and maybe eat it twice a week, so you may want to mention it to them. Be proud of yourself,20 pounds in 35 days is fantastic.

Thanks for the encouragement and the suggestion. I am on the 2-meal plan and this is the first week I have felt hungry at all - but TOM was here and that seems to have a huge impact on my appetite.

I think I will ask about suggestions for next month and even mention the idea of salmon once or twice during that week. I really appreciate your presence on this board and have aready benefited greatly from the ideas, encouragement and support you have provided.

List of Cheeses

OK - here is the center approved list of hard cheeses. It also includes a list of other cheeses so you know what to avoid. It also has some definitions. Hope this helps everyone!

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I have never received this
from the Center.

I really like using buffalo meat for two of my MRC recipes-- buffaloaf (buffalo meatloaf) and the MRC Texas chili. :)

As far as weight loss slowing down--that's TOTALLY normal! It happens to EVERYONE right at about week 3. It's frustrating, I KNOW! But just remember that this will pass within a week or so, and you're weightloss will pick right back up as long as you stay OP. :)

You can do it!

Thanks for the encouragement! Definitely staying OP! I went back and looked at my food sheets and this past week I started eating more veggies instead of doing the veggie drink. Not sure why that woulg cause the slowing of the weight loss but I'm going to switch back to the veggie drink and see what happens.

Thanks! Don't remember how much it was online...but I order from buffalogal.com It has been good quality and ships well. We LOVE buffalo. When we move and get a big freezer, we will take advantage of their 1/8 or 1/4 buffalo combos and stock up. I could eat it every meal and say goodbye to beef.

I really wish I had a big freezer.. even a bigger fridge! Apartment living is getting so old but I know I'll be in an apartment for the next couple of years. I'm a huge beef eater - so I'm hoping this buffalo/elk thing will work for me. I haven't fixed it yet.. it'll probably be tomorrow for lunch because I have to use up some Tilapia and ground turkey.

Spring Cleaning..

I went for my massage this morning.. it was an hour of greatness! Then went to Acadamy Sports and bought a new pair of walking shoes. And off to Walmart I went.. in my new kicks. I was running late for my morning snack so I went to the deli and had a couple of slices of the lower sodium chicken breast sliced and ate that when I finished shopping. Now.. I'm going to clean!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Yes, eating more/less veggies does make a difference. I ate a lot of cooked veggies, and when I plateaued/stalled a month or so ago, my center recommended eating fresh veggies at least one meal a day--and it did the trick. More veggies= more natural fiber = cleaning lots of old stuff out of our tract = more weightloss. Also, the fresher veggies require your body to work harder to process them, which = more calories burned even in "resting" state.

Good morning! I'm new here. The comments, questions and answers in this forum were the biggest factor in my decision to join MRC. I've been losing more slowly than I'd like, but as I am only 3 1/2 weeks into the plan, I am not discouraged. Reading of the struggles and successes of everyone is helping me keep things in perspective. Thank you for taking the time to post!

I just wrapped up week 3 on the program and I'm down just over 9lbs. I was getting a little discouraged, go ahead and stick with it. I gained .6 on a weigh in earlier this weekend and was down 3 or so on Friday. IT WORKS - you'll be fine. I'm hoping to speed it up a little tho :)

Also, this is totally unrelated, but just wanted to see what y'all think:

I'm debating between getting a Kindle and getting a Nook.
I was just going to get a Kindle because the reviews on them have been strong since they came out. My boss and several other people I know have them. But then one of my co-workers (a fairly techy one) told me she got a Nook because other people in her family have them and the Nook allows book sharing (Kindle does not). I love the book sharing feature--except that other than my one co-worker, I don't know anyone with a Nook to share books with. I wish Kindle allowed book sharing--then there would be no debate.

I also read online that Nook utilizes the android format, which means B&N may eventually develop the ability for Nooks to also act as tablet PCs (at least for websurfing). However, I also know that Kindle is experimenting with a websurfing feature as well.

So, I'm debating-- tried-and-true Kindle with easy-to-read format, or a Nook (which still has strong reviews) with a cool book sharing feature that only works with other Nook users, and the possibility of tech advancements making it more like a tablet.

Input? Advice?

I'd like to get one before we go on our belated honeymoon in June. Also, I'm tired of having stacks of books (I read a LOT) sitting around my house, taking up space.

I was going thru the Kindle/Nook debate and I was going to buy a Nook - that is until a friend of mine went and got me a Kindle :-)

I like the Kindle -but it's pretty basic. No color, but I have to tell you, I'm reading more with the Kindle, I stick it in my purse and stick it in my planner and pull it out whenever....

Wait on your purchase, I hear a new Kindle is coming out - soon.

Oh, I forgot about the slimquick! I bet it is the caffeine! I didn't take it this afternoon, and I feel fine today, so I wonder if that is it. I think I'll just quit taking it and switch to the MRC6.

I finally decided on getting a kindle. They are becoming internet-ready, and starting to enable book sharing, so it's exactly what I want. I went ahead and ordered it today (arrives in about 8 days!), but I'm not going to let myself open or start to use it until I hit 200 on that darn scale! I'm hoping that this will be a big enough reward and motivation to buckle down and get it done! :)

Ahhh nice. I love my Kindle. Enjoy :-)

Problems with leg/foot cramps?

In the past month, I have been having some leg/feet cramps at night. Anyone else experiencing this while on MRC? I have been on MRC for over five months. I am wondering if I need more potasium. My multi-vitamin has 80 mg of potasium. Those of you on the MRC mult-vitamin, can you tell me how much potasium is in it?
