I am struggling so bad. I fell off program mid December and I am just now getting back. They were wonderful at the center but I just can not seem to get my head back into the game. We had a death in the family and...well you know how funerals seem to bring out the drama. You would not believe what is going on in my husbands family if I told you, so I will spare you the details. But it has been tough. I am so tired of the chicken and I don't like cheese or fish so I need to some how push through this problem I have. I am shooting low for February and trying to loose 10 pounds. There is no way I should not be able to do this but I am struggling. How do you get yourself motivated when you have so much going on. I want to be down 40 pounds by summer and there is no way I will get there the way I am going. Anyone else having the same problem?

Skinnyby25- Thanks so much for the advice. I am worried about what its going to be like tomorrow when I go into the center but I think at least knowing what I am doing will help. The week of not knowing what is around the corner bothered me a lot. I should have asked more questions. Hopefully I will like some of the things on the menu, Im really picky…. I feel a lot better about this than I did this morning.

LaRee- I wish I had some advice to give u but I finish pre-conditioning tmrw Ekk! I can say this, at the end of last year I moved my 19 year old sister and her 7month old baby into my house. Then our father passed away Jan 12th (he was 39yrs old) and my mother has been super sick off and on. Work is crazy and the problems never end...We take the good with the bad…but sometimes we have to step back and remember to take care of US. Try to stay away from as much drama as humanly possible. I’m just certain if I can get this weight off then my life will be even more positive!

Nabeel - No idea if I can get 50 in Feb...but I'll get 40 next week and we'll go from there :) I'm losing 10lbs a month average...so i suppose it's possible :) Either way, I'm up for a challenge. I need a little motivation anyway. Today started a new week for me (since I WI on Weds) and so far, I'm OP :) hehe...2 meals...but hey...thats a good start, right? :)

Here's my vote for the people who's centers don't do rocks...Get Your Own!!! Go to walmart or any craft store and get a bag of the little glass rocks that go in vases and write on them with a sharpie the weight goals. Put them in a container and when you hit that goal, move it to another container :) It'll motivate you :) Also...if you don't hang up your inches ribbon...do it! I see mine every day now on the fridge and I LOVE that I've lost as many inches as my fridge is wide :) That feels like a huge accomplishment.

I lost 2lbs at this week's WI. I wanted 5 :( to get to 40lbs, but I'll take 2 and shoot for 3 next week. I'm signing that board dang it! :) Hang in there everyone.

So sorry for your loss and I hope your mom gets better soon. You are so correct in taking care of ourselves first. As women, mothers, etc., we always seem to put ourselves last. I think we also beat ourselves up worse than anyone else does quite often. If we like ourselves, it definitely can make for positive changes in our life. Hang in there, stick with the program and soon you will be seeing a different person looking back at you.

I hope it gets better than this..dont get me wrong i step on my own scale & it says im down a lil over than 7lbs..that should keep me motivated...but Im already bored. Tmrw I go back to the center so hopefully a new diet will make me feel refreshed some. :(

Have you gone to the Connections class yet. I find that those are good motivators. I am only a 1 1/2 wks. into the program so I know what you mean. But, like everything else you have your positive days and your hard days. Just remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel...even if it dims out just a bit ;)

Went to WI today & another 1.5lbs today woohoo....especially after my bad week...I was scared to see the scale. I stayed OP, but was worried that the stress may wreck havoc on the scale. I got my 1st menu today & was placed on meta-balance MRC would not sign off on meta-slim b/c of my medical history ...better safe than sorry I suppose. I was looking through the cookbook though & it doesn't look like any of the recipes apply to the meta-balance program. Why would they give me the cookbook & suggest it for my meals? It doesn't make any sense. Does meta-balance go/did it ever go/ under another name? Someone please help....I need some creative help with my meals :)

well if your losing 10 a month then you should get very very close to the 50 by the end of feb. Try upping your water and exercise a bit and with a little luck you will get the 50. You know i kinda loose in spurts, i have weeks where i lose 5 lbs a week twice and then nothing for a week, so even though i am hoping to reach 50, i might as well reach 55 or maybe even get stuck at 48, so lets see where we both end up at end of feb shall we ? ;)

sounds good to me nabeel...see ya at the end of the month :)

Once you lose your mental determination, this diet is REALLY difficult. This is my second time around, and that's why I fell off the first time. Kudos to you for pushing through this and not giving up!!

Karla, I am on the meta-balance plan too (I am diabetic). I don't have the cook book but I've used several recipes on here. Usually, I wind up getting MORE than what people on the meta-slim plan can have. AND, my weight loss didn't seem to be any slower than my mom's / sister's who joined at the same time.:D

I did the same thing, I fell of the program during the Christmas break, I gained the 9 pounds I'd lost and 5 more!! I was SOO angry with myself, and I was eating carbs like crazy!! I was hungry all the time, it was becoming a nightmare!! I prayed and knew I could do it, so on December 27th I started the program. I've been OP now and I've been following it by the book. I'm down 10 pounds and feel great!! Even started working out at the gym during the week except Wednesday nights, church. I'm Episcopalian and when we go to communion we have a piece of bread and a drink of wine, you think they'll consider me cheating? LOL .. just kidding!!
Sorry to hear that you burned out on the chicken, try the marinate recipe I suggested .. I GUARANTEE you'll love it!! I WI in on Monday and am curious to see if my exercising has made an impact on my numbers .. I HAVE to be down at least 15 pounds by March 20th ...:p

Ok...good! I was worried b/c everything I was reading about it said that the weight loss was slower. That is good. So you are liking it then. I am glad that I now know someone else on the metabalance ;) I am excited to try the turkey meatballs from MRC for the Super Bowl. Anyone else trying that recipe out????
