I would really like to use the premade turkey sausage links and lunch meat. Does anyone else do this? Results?
The costco near me has a reduced sodium organic herb deli sliced turkey which I've been eating for lunch sometimes. It's really tasty and 6 oz of the turkey has the same amount of sodium as 6 oz of the cottage cheese.

It's made by a brand called Columbus. Good luck!

WOO HOO Nabeel!

lindscounty 02-20-2010 08:52 PM

Went in for my class yesterday and was down 6.5 lbs!!! That was exciting. I am on the meta-slim plus level 2 menu - so far so good today. I found a lot of the recipes from the cookbook looked pretty good. I am still struggling with getting all the water in so thats the thing I need to work on the most. Today was the first day I had the HNS and they were actually pretty good - the only thing that kept me going besides bland waterr! I also found some garlic and herb la tortilla factory tortillas and they are the same as the regular ones so I can't wait to have those!

6.5 lbs, thats A W E S O M E!, congrats.!!!

A tip on water: just try to get 90% of your daily intake in before your afternoon snack ( even before lunch if you can), this way you will feel much fuller through out the day and be done with your water almost :)

karla 02-21-2010 01:37 PM

@linds 6.5 libs!!!!! That is awesome! :carrot::cb:

@nabeel Thank you for the tip on the water. So try to drink most of your water before the afternoon snack...that is a good tip. I just have to try my hardest to incorporate it. :high:

Hvnlymzic 02-21-2010 05:38 PM

I definitely don't get in 90% before afternoon snack, but I do set benchmarks that ensure that I get in what i want to through the day. I have a 25oz water bottle that I carry around everywhere with me.
Drink 1 bottle with breakfast.
1 bottle between breakfast and lunch.
1 bottle with lunch
1 bottle between lunch and dinner.
1 bottle with dinner.
1 bottle after dinner, before bed.

I set that as my goal (150oz a day) and I usually get real close (at least 100oz+). I notice when I don't and I don't feel as good. Once my body gets used to that much water, when I don't get it, my body rebels.

The soft cheese thing... First time around I simply used cheese and most of it soft if I remember. Does this affect anyone's results?

Yes, I have used lunch meats. I was told that one of the only acceptable brands allowed on MRC is the low sodium meats by BOAR'S HEAD. They are incredibly good. But my understanding is that you shouln't use them more than a couple of times per week. There is the low sodium chicken (Golden Classic) and the low sodium turkey, and low sodium cheeses too -- the lacey swiss is really low and the meunster is low. Got me hungry now, gotta go buy some.

so saturday morning on my home scale i was at 171.5. i worked out 40min on sat and sun, but instead of doing the cardio did fat burn mode on the elliptical, my heart rate only topped at 130 the whole time. this is what mrc suggested on friday. i haven't been religious to the plan, even ate pizza on saturday night. i did cut out my starches and ate a little more protein. so, this morning i weighed 168 on my home scale. very happy and surprised. whats up with this? i wonder if its the no carbs or the exercise. i'm going to try to cut out the starches this week, except maybe use black beans, and keep on working out this way and see how it goes.
