How many calories are in the fiber drinks?
Do they taste like the HNS?

I believe there are 50 calories in the fiber fills. I think they are much better than the HNS drinks. They're very tart & remind me of Hi-C fruit punch. I mix mine with minimal water (4 oz or less) or 1/2 can of Diet Soda like gingerale.

I think I was told that they are 30 calories each and you can have up to 3 of them per day. They are very good! I only have one as a treat occasionally or if I'm really hungry for some reason.

I took the plunge and gave metaquick a try. Last weekend I had two pizza night fiascos in a row-- a combination of poor planning, being busy, and sheer hunger. So, after gaining five lbs. of (probably mostly water) weight overnight, I decided to give it a shot. I got back on track on Sunday anyway, but I started MQ on Monday-- I've lost five lbs. in five days. I also like the mindlessness and convenience that comes with it. I'm really busy in grad school, so it's nice to be able to pack a bar for lunch and be done with it. I'm definitely going to do this once a month. I bought the shakes from dietdirect, so it was even cheaper than eating regular food, I think. However, I must admit, I'm greatly looking forward to my cheese toast in the mornings next week!

Finz: That is so awesome! Congratulations.

Did you lose 90 lbs in 10 months?

I started the program Jan 15th so just a little over 10 months. Congrats on your loss this week, too! :D

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. She is certainly in my thoughts & prayers. Please keep us updated--I can't imagine how worried you must be.

I WI today and lost 3.5 lbs of the 8 I had gained. But I started over Monday with a new attitude. And it seems to be easy right now. I have actually stayed OP for 4 days. Which was hard to do just a week ago. Maybe I will actually make it to week 2 of stabilization. I also got to be on the Radio. Our center was having an open house and they asked me to do a testimonial on the air. So I did. They gave me a free box of drinks.

Good Luck everyone on getting through Halloween!

**YEA** And too cool about being on the radio! :carrot:

I'm at a total loss of 17.5 in 4 weeks!!
I'm celebrating .......with a salad!!!

That's a fantastic loss! You are really doing so well on this program! :cp:

Rocki Great to hear from you!
Tara I've done MQ a couple of times. I think it can help you re-focus a bit. Glad it's working for you.

Halloween was a bit of a struggle. I gave in and had 1 piece of pizza. Luckily I don't WI until Thursday so I will be drinking LOTS and LOTS of water up until then and do Denise's U-Turn and get back OP 100%.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am averaging a 2.5 pound weight loss per week. The counselor would like to see a bigger loss next week but she didn't tell me what to do differently.
Any suggestions? I am excercising 45 mins 5 times a week on the eliptical. I am following the program. What else can I do?:?:

Just wanted to check in. I've been WAY out of touch for quite a while. I was doing great this week until we went to a buffet breakfast meeting yesterday. NOT a good idea. I ate whatever I saw that looked good and then had a reuben for lunch and twizzlers, a mixed drink and a pretzel for dinner (theater food b/c we saw "Phantom" last night).

Anyway, WI @ 11am AFTER running @ the gym and was up another .5 lb. That's about 4 lbs MORE than before my NYC trip. However, they did say I should have WI before running as I'm probably holding water. So, I'll be totally OP today and WI again tomorrow AM. I know I was down 2 lbs yesterday to about 127.5 probably and I was so upset to see that 129.5 today. I know that's still great, but I DON'T want to get back into the 130s again! :(

I hope you all are doing AWESOME! I think of the group a lot but there's just too much yucky stuff going on and so little time, I can barely check in! Take care and Happy Halloween everyone.

Hey Rocki,

I live in Ruskin and go to the Brandon Center. I love the girls over there. Maybe one day I will see you in there.

She can "like to see more" all she wants, but if you are OP 100% and exercising, then you're doing all you can do. I've been following this about 3 months, and sometimes you just don't lose, and then the next week you have a bigger drop. I think you're body just loses differently at different times. That said, other factors like sodium can affect the weight on the scale (but not necessarily the fat loss). If you really are OP 100%, then don't worry about it. However, look closely at your food choices-- are you eating cheese more often in the week than you're supposed to? Are you getting all of your water plus the extra to account for your workouts? Are you getting hidden carbs anywhere (prepackaged meats or veggies)? Are you having too much sodium? Canned foods can be a big problem here, also anything prepackaged. Look closely at your menu sheet and make sure you're eating the right veggies and portions and not "thinking" you remember it-- I've done that before. I keep my menu hung up in my cabinet for quick reference. Good luck at WI next time!

Yay!

Weighed in today. I struggled the last couple weeks and was worried I wouldn't make my pre-China goal of 30 lbs by Thursday. I lost 5.5 lbs and made it to exactly 30 today :cheer2:... a whole 5 days early! 30 lbs in 5 1/2 weeks - I am excited and hope China won't throw me completely off.

Even though I don't post often, this board has been a tremendous help. Thank you everyone.

wow...had to sneak in and say "hi"...I've been in Palm Springs...with my DH spending almost every waking moment in the hospital with his mom! Thought we were going to lose her...and as of today...she has sprung back!!! Yikes, she's 90...and seems to have a million lives! I've been thinking about Shineon...and you too JSTUCKLY...your sweet Alex is constantly in my prayers! Can you believe I'm in the hospital...and one of the nurses is letting me use her computer! Ha! I swear ten of these gals will be joining "us" and MRC before the end of this experience! What a miracle for them...they have loved reading through all of your stories!...and positive experiences! I'm hangin' in there being OP. Can I just say that this boot...lack of exericse...lack of weight loss...was killing me! Honestly...a month of staying the same weight...has been a bit frustrating...but...watching what's been going on here...in the hospital...has made me STOP...and appreciate my health...and the fact that maintaining my weight...instead of gaining...is amazing!!! And of course...if the hardest thing I'm doing is eating right...vs watching my MIL barely breathing with fulltime oxygen out of the wall...maybe I can really do this...at least for awhile without a ton of frustration! Hmmm...guess I'm rambling! Thanks for listening everyone...be grateful...as I know you ALL are...Denise, we lived vicariously through your son on Halloween...my grandson called and was so sad we weren't trick or treating with him...at least now I know to tell him he's scary!! :) xoxoCarrie

Finz 11-02-2008 12:14 PM

Carrie, I'm so sorry to hear that your MIL is in the hospital. How wonderful that she seems to be doing better today!

1st Cheat!!

Well, I did it....I had my first cheat after 11 weeks on plan. I feel so incredibly guilty. I stole 2 snack size Kit Kats from my child's trick-or-treat bag and then after that I ate 3 miniature oatmeal raisan cookies that I made for my husband. I was going crazy for something sweet and well, I took care of that :). I did quickly take 2 of the fat/carb blockers...not sure how much it will help.

I am trying now to get back on the bandwagon. Did any of you that went slightly off plan one day have a hard time getting back on?

Please keep your fingers crossed for me.
