I took the plunge and gave metaquick a try. Last weekend I had two pizza night fiascos in a row-- a combination of poor planning, being busy, and sheer hunger. So, after gaining five lbs. of (probably mostly water) weight overnight, I decided to give it a shot. I got back on track on Sunday anyway, but I started MQ on Monday-- I've lost five lbs. in five days. I also like the mindlessness and convenience that comes with it. I'm really busy in grad school, so it's nice to be able to pack a bar for lunch and be done with it. I'm definitely going to do this once a month. I bought the shakes from dietdirect, so it was even cheaper than eating regular food, I think. However, I must admit, I'm greatly looking forward to my cheese toast in the mornings next week!

Rocki Great to hear from you! Tara I've done MQ a couple of times. I think it can help you re-focus a bit. Glad it's working for you. Halloween was a bit of a struggle. I gave in and had 1 piece of pizza. Luckily I don't WI until Thursday so I will be drinking LOTS and LOTS of water up until then and do Denise's U-Turn and get back OP 100%. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |
I am averaging a 2.5 pound weight loss per week. The counselor would like to see a bigger loss next week but she didn't tell me what to do differently.
Any suggestions? I am excercising 45 mins 5 times a week on the eliptical. I am following the program. What else can I do?:?: |

I live in Ruskin and go to the Brandon Center. I love the girls over there. Maybe one day I will see you in there. |

Yay!
Weighed in today. I struggled the last couple weeks and was worried I wouldn't make my pre-China goal of 30 lbs by Thursday. I lost 5.5 lbs and made it to exactly 30 today :cheer2:... a whole 5 days early! 30 lbs in 5 1/2 weeks - I am excited and hope China won't throw me completely off.
Even though I don't post often, this board has been a tremendous help. Thank you everyone. |
wow...had to sneak in and say "hi"...I've been in Palm Springs...with my DH spending almost every waking moment in the hospital with his mom! Thought we were going to lose her...and as of today...she has sprung back!!! Yikes, she's 90...and seems to have a million lives! I've been thinking about Shineon...and you too JSTUCKLY...your sweet Alex is constantly in my prayers! Can you believe I'm in the hospital...and one of the nurses is letting me use her computer! Ha! I swear ten of these gals will be joining "us" and MRC before the end of this experience! What a miracle for them...they have loved reading through all of your stories!...and positive experiences! I'm hangin' in there being OP. Can I just say that this boot...lack of exericse...lack of weight loss...was killing me! Honestly...a month of staying the same weight...has been a bit frustrating...but...watching what's been going on here...in the hospital...has made me STOP...and appreciate my health...and the fact that maintaining my weight...instead of gaining...is amazing!!! And of course...if the hardest thing I'm doing is eating right...vs watching my MIL barely breathing with fulltime oxygen out of the wall...maybe I can really do this...at least for awhile without a ton of frustration! Hmmm...guess I'm rambling! Thanks for listening everyone...be grateful...as I know you ALL are...Denise, we lived vicariously through your son on Halloween...my grandson called and was so sad we weren't trick or treating with him...at least now I know to tell him he's scary!! :) xoxoCarrie

Carrie, I'm so sorry to hear that your MIL is in the hospital. How wonderful that she seems to be doing better today!

1st Cheat!!
Well, I did it....I had my first cheat after 11 weeks on plan. I feel so incredibly guilty. I stole 2 snack size Kit Kats from my child's trick-or-treat bag and then after that I ate 3 miniature oatmeal raisan cookies that I made for my husband. I was going crazy for something sweet and well, I took care of that :). I did quickly take 2 of the fat/carb blockers...not sure how much it will help.
I am trying now to get back on the bandwagon. Did any of you that went slightly off plan one day have a hard time getting back on? Please keep your fingers crossed for me. |
