Meemo, hope your knee heals from the shot (cortisone?). I've had 3 knee surgeries and have pretty bad arthritis in them. Losing weight has helped tremendously with the pain there. Another reason to stay on plan and meet our goals.

Good job - you'll finish getting that last few lbs in no time ;)
Thanks - yep, it's a corticosteroid (?) shot - wish I'd gone ahead & gotten it the first time I saw the dr. He gave me a good knee brace which is helping some, but I just want to be done with this. My MIL has had one knee replaced - hope this will be the end of my knee issues for awhile - it's almost as bad as having back pain (and I notice that gets worse if my weight is up, no doubt because I carry my weight in my belly so much).
Love your new pic!

I had my first weigh in today! I actually start on menu one tomorrow! I lost 5lbs on the scale today after doing the pre-condition! I think it is all the water I drank haha! (My scale said 8 but it's all good!)

I'm excited!

"Only" 9 lbs? That's 2.25 lbs a week! You're doing great! And 9" - how many inches would you have lost if you weren't on MRC? Seems like pretty good rewards to me. ;)
If you're hungry all the time, hoodia might help (if you haven't tried it already) - the MRC stuff is pretty pricey, but you can find a Green Tea & Hoodia at most any drugstore (I got it at Sam's). Hoodia is an appetite suppressant. And you might want to try mixing up your food choices, some choices are more filling than others, and some are lower glycemic than others (i.e. berries and melon are among the lowest glycemic fruits so your blood sugar will stay stable a little longer). And have you tried the MRC fiberfill drinks to help with hunger?

Stop by to give a little up date
At 8 am we did the Eco cardio gram, The lady was really nice and talked to us showing us the pictures saying this looked good or that looked good, then when she got to her left side of Alex heart the ladies attitude change, she keep looking at something and was not talking anymore.
She said they would send Alex test to Cooks Hospital in Dallas and have them look it over and they would let or Dr. know. Alex was a trooper when she had her CT done. She has never had an IV done before and I was very proud of her. As of right now we will go back to the Dr. Wend. Unless they call us in before that time.
So we –r- back to wait and see

So I am doing what I can to stay OP, I told my center I am a stress eater, so don't get all upset if I get a little crazy off program, I love them woman there they so understand and or very supportive like yall.....

Everyone have a safe weekend and thank for your prayers!!!!!!

My end date is next Wed the 29th. I am not planning to resign if it's not down by then. I really wanted to get to stabilization, but I truly can't afford to keep resigning.

I hope everyone is okay and losing nicely.

Jennifer, great to see you!!!
They aren't going strictly by BMI are they? Because you work out a good bit that might not be entirely accurate for you. Even the Tanita reading can be off for a lot of reasons - maybe you could get a more accurate reading (maybe from your dr) to be sure you (and they) really know what your body fat is.

Frankly, though, if you're happy and you're at your goal weight they really should let you stabilize - the actual contract says nothing about body fat or BMI - it goes by weight. They can suggest that you might want to keep going to get to a healthier body fat percentage, but contractually, you're there.

Hang in there! I can't imagine how frightening it must be just not knowing anything about the test results. Sounds like Alex is really a very special little girl.

I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE FIBER FILLS. DO THEY COUNT AS A CREAMY OR CLEAR? OR CAN YOU JUST HAVE THEM IN ADDITION TO YOUR HNS? DOES THE HOODIA MAKE YOUR HEART RACE? THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS.:smug:

JSTUCKLY & ShineOn - my thoughts are with you and your families.

Ok, so, I guess I need to know that I'm not alone... It is that TOM, and I have gained 2 lbs. I feel tired, crabby, unmotivated, and, well, blobby. Anyone else have worse PMS now than before?

I haven't been doing this long, really just 5 weeks. And it has been successful so far (before yesterday's gain, I was down 25 lbs.) I can tell myself it is temporary and that I need to stay OP, but I am frustrated and going to Chicago for the weekend - a perfect storm of opportunity to go off plan. I guess I'm looking for some inspiration...

dkmd27: CONGRATS!!! ON YOUR NEW GRANDBABY. OH TO HAVE MINE BE LITTLE AGAIN....LOL

As far as BMI, they said I had to do either of the two, bmi or body fat or they will not stabilize me. This really irritates me. It seems like there is always some hurdle to jump over. I really want to do the stabilization and esp the maintenance because I don't want to go back down the wrong road again.

Meemo: I will ask them tomorrow about the contract part of it. I hate to even go in because its TOM and I'm sure to be up at least 1/2 a pound which is sure to make the numbers look crazy on the tanita. Who knows, though. I'm definitely praying for a miracle by Wed. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Thanks for your advice and encouragement.

exsquisit 10-24-2008 06:06 PM

Jstuckly: I'm praying for you and little Alex. She sounds like a trooper.

Throughout the plan I have always gained .5 to 2 pounds during TOM without fail. I was told to add another b6 at night and drink more water. It usually flushes right out afterwards with another pound or so leaving with it. You'll do the same. Don't worry.;)

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what exactly does this teach us about healthier eating? I've been on MRC before (back in 2000) and had great success with it. But due to an illness I left the program. Months after I left, I spoke with one of the consultants and she advised me that I was maintaining my weight (even though I was pigging out) because they had jump started my metabolism. So if the first several weeks are to jump start your metabolism with excessive protein, what does stabilzation and maintenance do (I didn't make it that far)? Do you learn how to eat healthier to keep your new weight after you've made goal and leave the program?

cranberrie 10-25-2008 06:58 AM

Hi Ya'll. I weighed in today and had a loss of 2lbs. That makes a total of 11lbs in 19 days. But tonight i had a lil slip up. I was just too tired to cook and had a bowl of cereal. Shame on me...I know. I just gotta get back OP tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Best of luck to yall for a successful week!

Katherine
