Going to get weighed tomorrow. I haven't been since October 7th and know that I will be up. The visit to my brothers really threw me off. Not enough protein and the choices of food we were offered was very poor. It makes me realize how far I've come since joining MRC. Even my husband (a skinny guy) says he gained. I've tried to loose it but although I seemed to have gained 3 in 5 days. I cannot loose 3 in 5 days. I am just going to take my lumps and get back on the horse. Next time I will be better prepared and bring my own food. It just seems insulting to ask to go to the supermarket when you are a guest in someones home. But he's my brother and hopefully understand. His wife seemed interested in MRC and complained that she cannot wear her rings anymore since she gained a good amount of weight. They both have high glucose and cholesterol. It must be related to their diet of carbs and sugars. I know I just can't eat like that anymore.

Isn't it good, though, that you can recognize that you can't eat like that anymore? That's half the battle right there. You'll drop it off in no time, Bonnie.

I weighed in last week Tuesday and never went back at the end of the week since my home scale showed me as being up. It is still a little up today so will see what tomorrow morning brings. I am only 1/2 a pound away from signing the 30lb board! I am praying for that 1/2 pound loss this week - may not go in until I see it at home!

I have been having chocolate cravings too - anything I can do to satisify that besides eating the chocolate pudding?? Thanks in advance!

I am going to increase my water intake today and also may take an extra B6 or flax. I pretty much try to always do 3 HNS a day (2 regular and 1 creamy) but may increase to 4 today.

The soy crisps are awsome for me for chocolate cravings... ALSO the meal replacement shakes, are good and i mix them with a wildberry HNS and one of the fibers..its so good!!

WATER!! Good thing... I try to drink a gallon of water a day. Its a lot, but I have figured out if i am consistant with my water intake, then I feel like my weight is more accurate... SO even if its not a gallon if you are consistant with your water intake, i think it really helps...

One thing I wanted to share with everyone as far as a HUGE motivation for me, is the KETO sticks, that measure if you are in Ketosis or not.. I started following the program 100% again a week ago, today. I bought the keto sticks and had been checking if i was in ketosis. I was not until yesterday morning, and still am... Knowing that your body is in fat burning and you being able to see physical evidence of that, makes me not want to take a bite of anything that could "kick" me out of that., espeically because it took me so long to get there. My center showed me my weekly average, Before, when i was following it 100% it was average of 3 LBS a week, when i started slipping here and there with just little bites it brought my average down to .5 lbs a week.. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! SO i'm keeping that in the back of my mind that one bite of something off plan could kick me out of ketosis and possible slow me down for a week...

Anyway i hope everyone had a great weekend! And good luck for the week! :)

Good morning!

I went to WI this morning and was down 2.0 pounds since last Thursday. That makes me feel great!

I am also going to be speaking at the motiviational night at the center on Wednesday night. She said that she doesn't want me to write out my story or get up and give a speech. Any suggestions?

JSTUCKLY 10-20-2008 12:50 PM

I want to thank everyone for thinking about my daughter Alex, I am still waiting on the Dr to call today.

Also thanks for the answer to my stabilization questions,

I have stepped up a little on the exercise, and I am not going to go off plan anymore,

My younger Daughter Marsha (8) is into FFA, this is or 1st year to show a goat and I will tell you 3 mo ago when I was bigger there is no way I could have done Sunday what I had todo...... We picked the goat up and had to cut him..... That was one mean goat and we had to run around that pin like 15 times just to get him, then a few hours later he got out and that was a big hunt. But when Marsha said wow mom your fast! That made my day!!!!!

it is so nice to have friends here that support and listen to you go on and on.

Thanks Again

Hope you hear from the Dr soon!

What the heck is "cut him" mean? Did you name the goat?

So, that's a great NSV!!! I love it when kids say those things, because you know if it wasn't true, they wouldn't say it!

Great job!!!!

Congrats on speaking for motivational night, that's great!!!

So, what does she want you to do? Did she give you any idea? Have you been to any of the other motivational nights? If so, what do the people normally talk about? I would imagine, you would just want to get up there and talk about why you decided it was time to change your life, what made you pick the center, what has made you successful, and the things that make your life at MRC easier.... the tricks of the trade, if you will.

Fiber Fill

I had to ask about the fiber fill at our center (Bellevue). The counselor apologized that no one had ever told me about it. I am a big fan of the fiber fill. I use them several times throughout the week when I'm craving an extra sweet treat or I'm just plain hungry. Sometimes, instead of water, I mix them with a can of Diet 7Up or Diet Hansen's GingerAle (the Diet 7up has 30 mg of sodium, so I up my water). Obviously, they're probably not intended to use in this manner, but they really make a difference for me. I've also put them in the freezer or mixed with an HNS.

I like the fiber fill too! I use in a similar way, as a treat.... I mix 1 orange HNS, 1 can of Diet Rite Orange soda, and 1 fiber fill in the blender with ice.... very yummy.

That sounds really good - I'm going to try that one.

MrsPhibes - family trips are always the worst. However, it gives you insight to the way you were raised with food. We have lunch every sunday with my in-laws & I just want to shake her!! Here she is in a wheelchair, on oxygen, in congestive heart failure and on an insulin pump. And I watch her order ham & eggs and sevral times through out eating her pancakes, reapply gross amounts of strawberry syrup!! She asked this week if I could eat ham, because she was fixing it again for dinner. My DH said no mom, she can never eat ham - it's fatty & full of sodium, it's a bad, bad meat. And yet, she does watch me and tries to make some changes. She has switched to decafe coffee and for a whie was ordering salads. It's like we have found the secret to losing weight and being healthy and I want to shout it from the roof tops. And as for my loved one - I want to force them to eat like me. Unfortuantely it doesn't work. So I quietly make healthy choices in front of them and try to talk about it in a non-confrontational way. All the while I feel like I'm going to burst with frustration. Oh, that was a good rant :o

LauraSerendipity - well said on why it's important not to have blt's. I think that's the best explanation I have seen yet. The visual of the ketone stick and the realization that you can lose 3 lbs per week verses .5 lbs!

dla - I would just speak from the heart. What brought you to MRC, what clicked in your head, what you have learned along the way. You'll do great. I will try to be there - are you speaking at the Bellevue center?

Great job on the weight loss dla & fab4two! I'm hoping you'll be signing the 30lb board today PamperedMom!!

JSTUCKLY - I love your NSV. I can just see you chasing that goat around!

I've seen no change since my little bounce up last week. I'm just going to continue following the plan and see how it plays out. Bottom line, I feel really good. Maybe the week 4 carb additions are just too much for my body.
